I love METALLICA as much as the next guy, but jesus christ man, those were all usless and obvious post. C'mon now.
And quit quadruple posting:mad:

swedelead 10-12-2004 05:31 PM

I hate how people call Sum 41 pop-punk still this new album and does this look infected are alot more rock and metal influenced. So you gotta respect the band for trying to make some credible decent music. I pity them because they will always be known for the ****ty song they did in their early career. :amaze:

NoHandsGymnist 10-12-2004 07:21 PM
amen

can someone suggest more songs from metallica that are decent besides

master of puppets
fade to black
the one
enter sandman
the unforgivin

i know there is more, those are just the ones im familiar with:)
The name of the 3rd song is One not the one and Nothing Else Matters, For Whom the Bell Tolls, The Unforgivin II, Turn the Page, Enter Sandman, The Call of Ktulu, Seek and Destroy, Battery, Welcome Home (Sanitarium), and Ride the Lightning are the best Metallica songs. All of them are great, though.

The Bell Tolls 10-13-2004 05:57 AM

uhhh maybe

Shred Danson 10-13-2004 08:59 AM

...wow, is this an Official Metallica Thread or a is Sum 41 metal or not thread?

(58th official post of the week out of an attempted 3000)

CreepingBlack 10-13-2004 09:22 AM

sum 41 is a unique band, because they are pretty popular, yet they have metal influences, and punk influences that come out in their music.

ice cold metalligirl 10-13-2004 02:26 PM

i f***ing love metallica! :thumb:
i just had to say that.
when i was about 10 i liked sum 41 i think i had their first album, they were definetly pop-punk. but i haven't heard their new stuff.
if it's anything like metallica it must be good

Anyway, I think I might be going to a metallica concert next month... does anyone know what songs they'll probably play, i mean besides their St. Anger set? any classics I could look forward to?

Metallica-super-duper-lover 10-13-2004 05:22 PM

Po0sH 10-13-2004 08:40 PM

Is anyone here going to the San jose show?

killswitchlog 10-13-2004 08:42 PM

hey, does anyone know tomorrow pre-order begins on the vinyl box set of metallica? does anyone think i have a chance to get it? there are 5000 in america out of miliions and millions of fans. it is unlikely i will get it.

Paranoidd 10-13-2004 08:45 PM

A box set of Metallica albums on VINYL?

Are you on drugs?

How many Metallica fans want/care/have the money for records?

Don't worry, you'll get it. They'll probably have a surplus.

killswitchlog 10-13-2004 08:58 PM

hey does anyone know if you have to have a credit card to order off the metallica online store? i am 16, so i don't have one and i doubt my dad will put $100+ on it so i can get something irrelevant to life.

Paranoidd 10-13-2004 08:59 PM

I don't see how you could order online without it.

Maybe a money order, but I don't see how that would work for a pre-order.

Do you actually like vinyls, or are you just getting this for the sheer purpose of having them?

killswitchlog 10-13-2004 09:11 PM

because it's cool. This individually numbered, limited-edition LP box contains Metallica's first four albums -- Kill 'Em All, Ride The Lightning, Master Of Puppets, and ...And Justice For All -- as well as the out-of-print Garage Days Revisited EP and the previously import-only Creeping Death picture disc.

the first 4 albums sell alone for $60 in the stores, after tax, more than $65, this is a great buy, only 5000 for america are made. i could easily turn around and put this on ebay, make a profit real quick. i also find vinyls attractive. not like i want to hump it. it just reminds me of the olden days that i never experienced. seperate pieces of memorabilia sell more than a hundred dollars. i conclude this is a great investment.

Okay, I don't know if this has been done before, but I would like to know what everyone thought was "Metallica's Song". Just one song that you think represents their musical talent, and lyrics and everything in between. I personally think that their song is For Whom the Bell Tolls when they did it on S&M. BEcause I have the dvd and when you watch it, that seems to be the song where everything just flows perfectly.

IMO its probably either to live is to die or call of ktulu. Both these songs show how well metallica can fuse together and produce quality songs which still have emotion despite a lack of lyrics. Although the lyrics in to live is to die fit perfectly with the song. Cliff RIP. In terms of lyrical ability, any songs from RTL,MOP Or AJFA all deal with relatively weighty topics (suicide, war etc)

Chu 10-14-2004 05:32 AM

A song like Fade To Black or Sanitarium for lyrical and musical content, Just the way they can change the whole mood of the song, while keeping the lyrics perfect to it and most of all meaningfull.
(I don't count One in this though, purely because it's an obvious rip at the fame Fade To Black brought them).

As far as technical side of things go, well what more could you say, Metallica hasn't really gained any new skills over the years.
They just kinda wrote the same style music (Hell even Kirk explored more on the earlier albums with his solos, on Load and ReLoad his solos had became almost too predictable and similar to the solo he had played on the previous song), nothing new, and when there was, well it wasn't great - With a few, and I mean a few exceptions.

So in conclusion, something from Ride The Lightning, Master of Puppets, or ...And Justice For All (Which, weirdly enough, they did try a new style of music with, wonder why they didn't keep it heavy and fast...) - Personally I believe one of their instrumentals is their best music to date. I love the Call of The Ktulu, and To Live is To Die holds a special place on my stereo's playlist, but their greatest achievement, in my opinion, was Orion.
I too, just as Cliff Burton received, wish for that song to be played at my funeral.

that'd be a pretty interesting thread by itself. let's see, "metallica's song" well i would have to say enter sandman only because it's there biggest hit. but otherwise i would have to say Fade to Black or Master of Puppets

Joe 10-14-2004 08:31 AM

guess what?! on sunday im seeing metallica for the first time live!!! im so pumped and excited! are they really as awesome live as everyone says?

^wow I was such a n00b. I think this is my 2nd metallica and now I'm in front :thumb:

hey i was looking for some piano sheet music of some metallica songs..just started out in a new metal band as pianist so i was looking for some good ''tabs'' and stuff...if some1 could give me a site or directly email me some music that would be just ****ing great...

Riva 10-15-2004 06:02 AM

I don't know if you can adapt guitar to piano. I adapted "For Elise" to guitar to play, but that took a long time, and I don't know where you could find those sheets.

My mistake: Here is a book you can buy; http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/a/product.html?command=search&db=/store/db/inventory.db&eqskudata=HL.2502204&id=64465&searchtitle=sheet%20music
