Yeah I'm pretty surprised that none of the girls I know, even heaps indirectly, have ended up pregnant. Like from uni, high school days, anything. Some of them have thought they were pregnant and freaked out and when you see how stupidly they deal with stuff like that it just confirms for you that they'd be a ****house mother.

I had this great idea a while back for population control whereby you temporarily sterilise one gender or a whole population by putting some kind of drug in the water, then when people want to breed they have to be assessed for like, not being retards who couldn't handle a kid, etc, and then they get the antidote and they have like a temporary breeding permit.

It isn't a perfect system but nothing is.

funkyhoney 09-07-2009 10:10 PM

There's only x amount of days you can catch the preggers anyway.

My luck, I'll be that 0.1% where the birth control fails. Luckily she's really good about taking it on time, every time, but still...I'm not ready for a kid.

Do you have upgraded pups in that thing?

Lol that's the thought that goes through your head eveeeerrry time you do it.

What pisses me off most is when girls that are like 17 and are like: "I dun0 if i cud abawt it". They have no income, no house, the father is a drop kick and their parents aren't gonna support them, and yet they still insist that abortion is wrong.

Down with retarded broads I say.

And gas, I totally think, that if properly implemented, your idea could be a huge success.

It's a 70's era Morris Jazz with a P-bass neck, Dimarzzio model J's, Gotoh bridge, 500k jazz classic volume pots, 300k custom wound tone pot and a series/parallel switch.

You can see it a *bit* better in this one.

gaslight 09-07-2009 10:49 PM

Good to see four strings on a bass.

funkyhoney 09-07-2009 10:52 PM

Using my 6 string in this format would be nothing more than an utter waste of time and energy.

Yup.

yeah just what we need more systems more control more authority

this idea you have is about a million times more ****ed up than "stupid people"

ever take a step back and think maybe you're the retard? the idiot? the freak? the douche bag that doesn't belong?

the human race doesn't conform to the stereotype of "intellectual, open minded, and truth-seeking"

therefore

it is far more appealing, for people like us (the idiots, the freaks) to simply disconnect

i have no stake in this planet i do not care if people are dumb and **** it up in fact, just the contrary - i HOPE they ravage and destroy themselves

cause its oh so fun to watch

Epidemechanical 09-07-2009 11:26 PM

as far as having a child goes - idk, who cares

if it happens, it happens

living life without sex and always being future minded is a flawless recipe for a wasted life

Retards, idiots, freaks and douche bags do "belong" to the bulk of humanity so, pick your side .

I for one would leave to see humanity run like a pulp sci-fi morality tale, even just for a hundred years or so.

according to you

what makes you think you're so ****in' special that you get to decide who and what constitutes stupidity

you're in the minority and nobody gives a **** about your stupid "ideals" and "aspirations for society"

"you're" in the general second person referring to ANYONE who deviates from the status quo

Epidemechanical 09-07-2009 11:35 PM

btw the BC pill is extremely effective because it prevents the egg from even being released. it also inhibits it from implanting itself on the uterus wall as well via a mucus solution that is created.

morning after pill works in much the same way

You really think I've ever been concerned about being in the minority of anything? I don't care if I have an idea that's shared by nobody else or by a million other people, it's of no consequence to the value of what you're thinking as long as you arrived at it from scratch by your own cognisance. If you adopt an idea because a million other people have and you've never done the reasoning yourself, that's retarded, but it's equally retarded to adopt an idea because it's the opposite of what a million other people have just to be different.

Otherwise I really don't know what your point was there apart from general puprose angsty anarchist diatribe. Everyone's thoughts and opinions are "according to [them]" so as far as I'm concerned I don't need to justify anything I think or express to anybody. When it comes down to ideals and aspirations for society, there's billions of sources of push and pull in every conceivable direction - church, law, government, every individual, and how the status quo ends up is largely arbitrary so it should never be considered untouchable or infallible, just or even reliable simply by virtue that they happened to be in place at the time we experience them.

Humans are flawed creatures and no concept or system we produce is perfect or enduring, the entire species is fated to go extinct just like every other species will in time, and in the blink of an eye in cosmic terms there will be no trace we ever existed, so as far as I'm concerned if I want to come up with ideas about magic no-baby water that I think anyone from Philip K Dick to Yevgeny Zamyatin could really have done some good with, then you can bet your sweet bippy I'll air that **** out.

Funky how do you find those 300k / 500k pots make much audible difference? I've never really looked into anything like that.

If I remember correctly the original volume pots were 250 and we replaced them with 500... for reasons I can't remember... But the output is a bit hotter now, especially in parallel. The 300k tone pot just sounds a lot cleaner. But having said that, the old one was ****ed.

gaslight 09-08-2009 12:25 AM

Ahh right. So, the k refers to what exactly?

I was thinking the tone pot might be operating around different KHz then the stock ones, but then what would that mean for the volume.. help

Sablate McNuff 09-08-2009 12:31 AM
No I haven't, these ones were already in it by the time I got hold of it. I just like that the model J's pole pieces are easily adjusted.
Hmmm. Think I could replace the pickup covers with some that don't show the pole pieces? It's one of my pet peeves on non-MM pickups.

gaslight 09-08-2009 12:41 AM

Aren't pole-pieces often exposed for a reason though?

Cramboli 09-08-2009 07:50 AM

Sometimes I know the covered one can be removed though to adjust pole height...

FunkMetalBass 09-08-2009 09:20 AM
Aren't pole-pieces often exposed for a reason though?
I think it's just convention for jazz-style pickups. Seymour Duncan and EMG both make them without poles showing (although I'm fairly sure EMG uses a bar magnet as opposed to poles). In reality, the pull should be strong enough that 1.5 mm of plastic wont interrupt the B-field.

gaslight 09-08-2009 09:33 AM

Yeah, it could differ pup to pup I guess. I know Ibanez make it a selling point that their SRX basses have exposed pole pieces that are meant to contribute more volume.

fatbandit 09-08-2009 09:41 AM

Exposed pole pieces are a pain in the ***. I have a mega low action, and if I dig in really hard on my picking hand, sometimes they get magnetised to the pole pieces and make a god awful noise.

gaslight 09-08-2009 10:00 AM

Wow that sounds like a biatch. The action on my SRX is reasonably high, well, not high I guess but normal height so I haven't encountered that problem thankfully.

fatbandit 09-08-2009 10:18 AM

Yeah, most people don't seem to have that problem, but like I say, I play REALLY low. There's basically no relief in the neck, it is just flat. But its really stable, so it can cope with it :)

FunkMetalBass 09-08-2009 10:20 AM
Exposed pole pieces are a pain in the ***. I have a mega low action, and if I dig in really hard on my picking hand, sometimes they get magnetised to the pole pieces and make a god awful noise.
Lower your pickups. Or ask Mr. Shuker to build you some pickup covers.

My Stingray does the same thing, which is why it's my pick/slap bass.

On other news, I think all basses should came with a 35" scale. 34" sucks.
