haha mines bigger than yours if you know what i mean.
im planning on making a shirt that says skank the night away on the front and then have a bunch of stencils of guys skanking all over the shirt. that one will be a mission to do but ill do it eventually. |
so. tonight has been quite the eventful night. remember that suprise i was talking about? its done and its awesome! its an op ivy shirt. but this isnt a regular op ivy shirt. i stepped it up on this one. from the front it looks like just a plain ol op ivy shirt:
http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d172/pointless5448/IMG_0511.jpg but when you look at the back: http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d172/pointless5448/IMG_0513.jpg i printed out 9 pages of parts of it and put them together on a big posterboard and i cut it out today. i didnt think it would turn out this well but it did. im pretty excited. heres a picture of the monster stencil (double entendre): http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d172/pointless5448/IMG_0525.jpg heres a pick of the back with the cd http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d172/pointless5448/IMG_0526.jpg just thought it would make a cool picture.
I made a huge stencil of that guy too, but I hand drew it so it's not perfect. Thwe hoodie still looks cool though. |
Pics?

I made some pins today and that was the extent of my DIY activties. I did seriously consider making a big banner (for no specific purpose other than it would be cool), but that idea died when I realized that: Probably About 6 Yards of Canvas x Cost = Not Happening.
Any tips on where to get, if not free, than cheap, sturdy material on which to paint/screenprint to make a banner? |
Jo Ann Fabrics?
Pics?
http://s20.photobucket.com/albums/b225/yetier/?action=view¤t=oppyivy.jpg It's not as big as POINTLESS's, but I think it's pretty cool. |
That looks cool. And it's good for being hand drawn.
|
thats good as **** for being hand drawn!

And for my next trick, I'm going to buy a fucking boombox.
http://i6.ebayimg.com/05/i/07/4b/5a/ce_2.JPG a big, big, fuck off boombox, actually. http://i13.ebayimg.com/01/i/07/5b/39/a7_1_b.JPG http://i23.ebayimg.com/05/i/07/6c/f9/b6_1_b.JPG I shall proceed to spray it all a base colour (black or silver or whatever I choose), and then stencil some stuffs on it. With some Oi! compilation tapes it will then be a perfect accompaniment to sitting on the street in touristy parts of London photo-begging =D Any ideas for colours or stencils or anything? I'm thinking GBH for starters, just because I have that done. Maybe the Exploited mohawk. Hmm. |
Thats a sick *** boom box. I think it'd look better if you went with black, too.
|
I won't buy that actual one, because I'm broke, but that sort of thing; whatever's on eBay when I have the dosh.

Here's my school poster:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v428/BPMead007/DSC00631.jpg I got 90/90! Here are my chucks: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v428/BPMead007/DSC00625.jpg Big DK patsch covering huge hole: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v428/BPMead007/DSC00626.jpg Ultra-faded Bad Brains logo http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v428/BPMead007/DSC00627.jpg Rasta toe and laces to match Bad Brains: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v428/BPMead007/DSC00628.jpg And here's a pic of the BB logo before it faded: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v428/BPMead007/IM004826.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v428/BPMead007/IM004825.jpg Oh, and here's a DIY movie for health class: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcARczalNis |
Those Chucks are sick, its insane that you'd put so much effort into something that ends up on the dirty ground, but really inspiring =D

Sketchers look cool, but they have no arch support and kill my feet if I walk in them for more than an hour or so. I have a pair lying around somewhere. I prefer my big sturdy comfy boots, even if it means I have to play football barefoot.

Those aren't sketchers. They probably have even worse arch support, though. |
I have Hurley's, Chuck style, comfy as hell, had them for years, love them. Except they're black, not purple, and lo-tops =(

Here's a shirt with my band and Robocop (and lots of overspray).
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v428/BPMead007/DSC00635.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v428/BPMead007/DSC00633.jpg |
So I wanted to make a quick back patch for my jacket with my old operation ivy stencil, black t-shirt fabric and white spray paint.
I knew people told me it was hard to spray white on black and they were so right. it's the biggest bitch to paint. But Im getting there. I'm just painting REALLY thick layers of paint on the shirt. It should be done soon and hopefully dry tomorrow morning. |

I might make this into a shirt. I kind of like that song, if you can't tell. |
Ok, I need a hell of a lot of paint. I think that as a project this summer, I'm going to make a huge banner to drop from somewhere downtown. So I don't want to pay for that much cloth and paint, because I think it can be done without spending a hundred dollars or so that it might cost. Does anyone have any suggestions on where I could get cloth like canvas or sheets on which to paint for very cheap or free?
Also, same goes for paint although I think that it might be cheaper to make paint....I think it can be one with eggs or something, but I have no such experience. Also I want to do a more colorful & detailed banner than just black on white with a slogan; have it be actual artwork done by my friends and I. The paint will have to work well enough for multiple layers and stand to be rolled and unrolled multiple times. Waterproofing would be good but not a must... |

To make a big one, fabric paint would obviously be expensive, so you could probably go with something where you can get more quantity, but it mightn't last as long as fabric paint would. Not sure what would work though. As for waterproofing it, go to a camping store or something, and get some tent-waterproofing sealant. That would be my best guess. What're you thinking about putting on the banner? Man, I totally wish I'd thought of this first. :) |
they totally did that in that one clash video. :-/
|
Thanks for the idea of having multiple colors for the background, that's really cool. I don't know quite what I'm going to put on it yet, I'm going to talk to the other kids that are going to be involved and we'll decide.

Ha ha, yeah they did. |

Ah crud, now I'm plagiarizing subliminally. |
It's not an uncommon thing for people to do.
It's technically called a banner drop, but when I've used that term around people who don't know what I'm talking about they think it means hurling the baner over the side, not hanging it up. |
Here's my first ever atempt at stencilling. I think it turned out pretty good except for a few bleeds.
http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i286/Mike_Rakhabit/bc42aee6.jpg And my current project is a Misfits one, here is the start of it http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i286/Mike_Rakhabit/58a6b1a8.jpg |
Those look pretty good.
