Apocalyptic Raids 01-16-2005 06:41 AM

Its very good. War Is My Shepherd is my favourite, im not so sure about Forward March, Culling The Herd and Sealed With A Fist, but the rest are killer.

SLATANIC-666 01-16-2005 07:45 AM
picked up two cds today:

Tempo Of The ****ed - Exodus
Schizophrenia - Sepultura
Enjoy, Tempo of the Damned is an excellent thrash album, I personally think Scar Spangled Banner is the highlight on there.
And well, Schizophrenia is arguably one of the greatest thrash records around IMO. Hard to say what the best track on there is, I get torn between Escape to the Void, Rest in Pain and the remastered Troops of Doom.

Metal Militia: Slaughter are decent, theres some really shit songs that I sampled then there were some top notch thrash songs, mainly from 'Not yet Dead'.

SLATANIC-666 01-16-2005 07:57 AM

Oh yeah, I went to a local gig last night to see my friends band play, they were OK. From what I can remember the setlist consisted of a lot of their own stuff, which is sort of thrashy then they threw in a medley of the Four Horsemen and Seek & Destroy, Seasons in the Abyss, the intro to Raining Blood, man did my eyes light up :D I wish they'd just once play something like Angel of Death but then again it was in a pub and I think there were some little kids around, so no bad idea :upset:

DimebagDarrell 01-16-2005 09:22 AM
What did you think of Tempo of the ****ed? I've heard a bit of it and some of it's ok, but some of it is really bad IMO.
sealed with a fist is the best on there easily, its not as fast as older stuff tho

Aside from Zetro's rapping in that song, it's solid

I enjoyed TOTD, easily one of last year's top metal albums. I still think that Torture Squad's "Pandemonium" is the best thrash record in the past few years though.

My New England Patriots play today, it's gonna be a great game.

NP: Judas Priest - HELL BENT! HELL BENT FOR LEATHEEEERRR!

ForiegnPenguin 01-16-2005 10:24 AM

What album to get, Fabulous Disaster or Tempo of the ****ed?

ForiegnPenguin 01-16-2005 10:24 AM

And yes, this should be a great game.

RCA 01-16-2005 10:34 AM
What album to get, Fabulous Disaster or Tempo of the ****ed?
Eh, kinda hard choice. Fabulous Disaster is solid, but it's got a bit of whiffle thrash in it. TOTD is also solid, but there is some filler in it. I'd say grab FD first.

Also, if you can find it, get the 1986 Pleasures of the Flesh demo. It has three tracks from POTF on it, with Paul Baloff on vocals. Last recording with him before he left the band, and I highly recommend it.
What album to get, Fabulous Disaster or Tempo of the ****ed?
I have both, and I end up listening to TOTD a lot more than FD

I'd say FD has more fillers than TOTD, and Tempo has a lor better production, well cuase it's like 15 years newer.

Hard choice, but go with TOTD :thumb:

DimebagDarrell 01-16-2005 11:20 AM

i agree totd but download the title trackto fd because its great

ItsaBADRELIGION 01-16-2005 11:21 AM

What does everybody think of the new Megadeth cd? I thought it was pretty good but not as good as Countdown to Extinction

RCA 01-16-2005 11:39 AM
What does everybody think of the new Megadeth cd? I thought it was pretty good but not as good as Countdown to Extinction
Eh, new Megadeth wasn't anything special. Peace Sells still reigns.

Yeh Fabulous Disaster is an amazing song, as is Toxic Waltz, so download those both

ForiegnPenguin 01-16-2005 01:23 PM

My computer is way to slow to download songs and I'd prefer to have the cd itself.

RCA 01-16-2005 01:35 PM

^Just get both albums then.

EDIT: To ForeignPenguin

Really??

Forward March is probably my favorite on that album

Griffin_Page 01-16-2005 03:00 PM

I picked up Tempo of the ****ed yesterday, that album kicks some major ***.. it's nice to hear band using a modern recording sound but still playing good music.

I also picked up Death Angel and Morbid Angel's newest.. good albums, but I've been stuck on Exodus for now.

RiceMonster 01-16-2005 03:03 PM

I'm just getting into Exodus and Overkill. This makes me wonder why I hadn't checked them out long ago.

I dunno how you can love Exodus, and hate Overkill

Yeh they're different in ways, but they're similar in a lot of aspects too.

Apocalyptic Raids 01-16-2005 03:47 PM

Speaking of Tempo, i love some of the lyrics

"You're Cruci-fucked and your out of luck"

And i don't really find Overkill and Exodus that similar. The vocals of Zetro and Blitz have similaritys but IMO Zetro seems to be more versatile than Blitz. (Keeping in mind i only have one Overkill album to judge by)

Two things:

1. Shame that you only have one Overkill album.

2. Blitz pisses all over Zetro.

I didn't like the Art of Dying that much.

FatalEnergy 01-16-2005 10:08 PM

I've been all over Sadus latley, but I've been checking a lot more stuff other than thrash because I've found so much thrash its hard to find more, so I've been becoming a huge Blind Guardian fan and been getting a lot into Power Metal ad I picked up Nightfall in MiddleEarth

yeah, this is way off topic, and if you don't like it you can kiss my ***

NP : Blind Guardian - Into the Storm

Blind Guardian rule, and that song you are playing owns HARD.

You know what other band owns hard? Metal Church.

NP: Metal Church - Beyond The Black

3rd page.

Bump.

Someone review some old thrash for the new CD Reviews section.

Anyone listen to Delirium Tremens (ger)? I'd heard of them before, but I never checked them out. I did now, and they sound cool.

RCA 01-17-2005 11:13 AM

I think I might do a review soon. I'll review Dekapitator's "We Will Destroy...You Will Obey!" album.

Nice, Blind Guardian slay. Also check out the new Angra album - Temple of Shadows. It's LordDargon's guilty pleasure. ;)

metal-militia 01-17-2005 11:54 AM

I've always thought about doing a review but I suck at that sort of thing.

RCA is right, Blitz doesn't just piss on Zetro, he pissess on loads of vocalists :)

FaceInTheSky, I love Sadus too, but I don't like the stuff off Elements of Anger is as good as Illusions and the other early stuff.

RCA 01-17-2005 01:33 PM

MX has a new review site?

Anyways, here's my review of Dekapitator's "We Will Destroy...You Will Obey!"
