GurS 05-02-2005 09:22 AM

/is in constant fear that he will sustain an injury that will stop him playing drums and/or piano for a while

I would actually go crazy if I broke my arm.

Firecracker 05-02-2005 09:24 AM

Sounds very painful, hope it gets better soon. :(

I've only just started to be able to play bass again after breaking my hand ages ago, I mentioned something about it in here.

Nasty, I think I remember you talking about it. How long ago was it?

Josh 05-02-2005 12:26 PM
driving, eh?

/too lazy to learn
i should be driving down to Leeds festival this summer, with Maiden blaring :) as long as my crappy speakers can stand up to it anyway.

rik 05-02-2005 12:38 PM

About a month, long time to be away from your instrument.
About a month, long time to be away from your instrument.
I'd hate that...

So has anyone heard Bruces new album yet? Methinks it's a Concept album...don't know what the concept is though

Josh 05-02-2005 12:46 PM

I haven't heard the whole of any of his solo albums, i think i'll start with The Chemical Wedding.

/has just passed Lord Abortions postcount in this thread :)

Deth 05-02-2005 12:48 PM

I haven't heard anything about it being a concept album, but two of the tracks are downloadable at his website (I believe).

I haven't heard any tracks though.

There seems to be a recurring thing through the album... Like some of the songs are to do with space .etc (Mars Intro, Abduction, Kill Devil Hill, Navigate the Seas of the Sun) and then it turns onto religon, with Believil, Tyranny of souls. But there are a few songs i can't figure out...like Power of the sun and the 2nd song.

Deth 05-02-2005 12:56 PM

That crazy Bruce and his concepts.

ashman 05-02-2005 01:06 PM
That crazy Bruce and his concepts.
Lol yeah, but it's still a great album, I really love it. Roy Z is a great guitarist.

RockerGav 05-02-2005 01:08 PM

Is it out yet?

I was listening to Navigate the Seas of the sun earlier, its a good song, I'd be interested to hear more from this album. (Other thigns to spend money on just now so not buying any time soon.)
 Don't see much of Lordy nowadays...
he tends to mostly go on at school in his frees, as he doesn't have broadband at home and if you're on dial-up this site can be a bit slow...so would you recommend get Bruce's new album then?

ashman 05-02-2005 01:39 PM

Here are some cool songs, Abduction and Power of the sun.

cheers, downloading now.
my PC is running pretty slowly as I'm ripping songs to my MP3 player, listening to music, sending a file through msn and downloading those 2 songs, lol.

its strange hearing Bruce solo work, its so different from Maiden. Abduction is great, listening to it now, will listen to power of the sun next.

vashts80 05-02-2005 01:56 PM

/me listens to Tyranny of Souls

Josh 05-02-2005 02:00 PM

do any well-known people play with Bruce, or are they just random musicians?

Thunder Fingers 05-02-2005 02:00 PM

righty o..... im buying that album, i realy cant aford it, but i liked what i heard so far...

Josh 05-02-2005 02:01 PM

yeh, i think i'll get it as well...may get it at the same time as The chemical wedding...when i have money...

Power of the sun finished, then RiR version of Blood brothers cycled up on media player :)

ashman 05-02-2005 02:19 PM
do any well-known people play with Bruce, or are they just random musicians?
One of the Guitarists (Roy Z) is supposed to be better then Dave

YDload 05-02-2005 02:23 PM

Hey E-T-T, I see we both voted for Iommi in the top guitarists poll. :thumb:

By the way, I was considering making a top 100 R&M bassists poll for this forum after the guitarists one is done. Would anyone here support it, especially if it gave Steve Harris a shot at the top spot?

ashman 05-02-2005 02:24 PM

I'd go for it.

I also voted Iommi... :D

vashts80 05-02-2005 02:27 PM

I'd go for it, as long as it included 'Arry, Trujillo and Burton. Wooten and Claypool too, and Myung.

Thunder Fingers 05-02-2005 02:31 PM

you get my support on that one Ydload ;) as long as Arry and Gary Lee Weinrib is in it...

YDload 05-02-2005 03:34 PM

This would be rock and metal bassists, so no Wooten. Besides, he's in a league of his own, and we would need more team players rather than showoffs in the poll.

Also, you would be the ones nominating them, so don't yell at me about which ones to include.

superpeer 05-02-2005 03:37 PM

Pfft, they're not match for Tony Choy. :shifty appearance:

All of you fanboys go to the YSI thread and grant my request, it's your last chance to win me over.

YDload 05-02-2005 03:38 PM

Quick, someone upload "From Here to Eternity" for 'Peer!

GurS 05-02-2005 03:49 PM

I want the album

and 'Peer, stfu :)

coolidgeALL 05-02-2005 04:50 PM

I've never heard his solo stuff either but I'm downloading it now. Thanx.

GurS 05-02-2005 07:34 PM

tattooed millionaire: cheesy album, great song

I also voted Iommi...and if theres going to be a top 100 R&M bassists poll, Steve Harris should win, although the metallica fanboys () would all vote Cliff Burton! but yeh, you should go ahead with it.

ashman 05-03-2005 08:56 AM

To tell you the truth, I don't know that many Bassissts.

Deth 05-03-2005 08:58 AM

I play bass, and I will be voting for Harris.
