Yeah, but Lennon liked Country/Folk/Bluegrass. So, he makes up for the jazz hate in my book.

hahah write him a song that'll make him happy! Then you must share it with us.

BludgeonySteve 09-27-2004 07:35 PM

Yes, I don't really care if he didn't like Jazz because i'm not that big of a fan of it anyway.

This thread did 500 posts yesterday and 50 or so today :(.

gmoneyguy 09-27-2004 07:37 PM

jpj 09-27-2004 07:47 PM

BludgeonySteve 09-27-2004 07:55 PM

Pfft, this just means that he will be better when he returns from the banning. I'm sick of spam in this thread.

I might write a song, and I might not. I'll call it... the lennon song! Get it? Kind of like Zeppelin's Lemon song? hahahaha

...No? :(

gmoneyguy 09-27-2004 07:57 PM

I think that would be cool.

b1u1ce 09-27-2004 09:36 PM

Does anyone know who plays the song "Spirit in the sky" ? I hear it on the classic rock station all the time, and I'm pretty sure theres different covers of it. Anyone know which one would be the 'rock' classic version of this song ?

thelizardkingcc 09-27-2004 09:39 PM

norm greenburg plays spirit in the sky

BludgeonySteve 09-27-2004 09:39 PM

Elton John's version is the closest to rock.

clown_phobia 09-27-2004 09:45 PM

I'm listening to Led Zeppelin's self titled debut. I love this album.

We try not to talk about them here. They're like the Metallica of classic rock. However...

I'd day it's their best. More blues and folk and less hard rock. They could rock but I like their acoustic stuff such as Babe i'm gonna leave you, the best. Also Bluesy songs such as You hook Me and I can't quit you baby are awesome. And I guess good times bad times and Communication breakdown are good too.

Everyone get in a comment or two and then no moore zeppelin talk for a while.

Never heard of them and I don't know where to get any music by them :(. Think you could send me a sample song on AIM or something?

clown_phobia 09-27-2004 09:49 PM

it's still a good album.

BludgeonySteve 09-27-2004 09:50 PM

I never said it wasn't. It's a great album. We just prefer not to talk about them here.

Ya since no one has really changed the subject...lets talk about john lee hooker.
In my opinion he is the most blues of all blues artists. I love the songs that are just him, his guitar, and his foot tapping along. Thats so downright blues it makes stevie ray vaughan look like a pop singer.

(sorry SRV i didn't really mean it..please forgive me)

Awesome! I really like that song. It's a bit boring and repetitive for about 2 minutes at one point but otherwise it's really good. Their guitarist can really play.

thickasabrick 09-27-2004 10:03 PM

oh ok lets just put down my whole post because i forgot the word rockabilly....blues is blues no matter what anyone says. pretty soon people like you are going to be inventing genres such as nu-blues and bluescore and deathblues.

ok i flipped out sorry....someone start up a converstion here the loneliness is killing me and im useless in any metal related threads.

Yea that song is a bit drawn out, but it's the only mp3 I could find that I thought would give a good representation of them.

thickasabrick 09-27-2004 10:06 PM

does anyone know what happened to stevie ray vaughans guitar?? number one. some people said it was buried with him..im not sure what to believe.

BludgeonySteve 09-27-2004 10:06 PM

Lol nu blues. That would suck. I really don't think that's going to happen. But I think blues is due for a strong comback. never heard of this hooker fellow.

Well i'm impressed :)
