Ive been using a thumb tack, poking holes in and tearing.
haha, defiantly go get an x-acto blade

Brain Toad 06-12-2006 07:07 PM

I dont know about anywhere else, but I got a set of x-acto-like knives, three types of handles plus a bunch different types of blades for 99 cents at a dollar store.

mullets suk 06-12-2006 07:38 PM

Im really close to completeing my Joe Strummer shirt. Just one question though. when using the freezer paper, and using a multi-layer stencil, will the freezer paper stick to the first layer of paint??

O yea, two thing. Freezer paper, for those who havent tried is THE best way to stencil. Also the X-acto blade is great, alot better then using a thumb tack.

Brain Toad 06-12-2006 07:53 PM

I love x-actos. Except it hurts like a bitch when the blade goes under your fingernail.

They cut duct tape really well, my latest DIY project was making a new duct tape bookmark since I lost my other one.

It won't stick if the first layer is completly dry..

mullets suk 06-13-2006 04:24 AM

What if i washed the shirt with the first layer completely dry. Then doesnt that make the shirt all clothy again?

SantaDuJuan 06-13-2006 12:17 PM

Guys, I'm thinking of making my DIY one word t-shirts.
Ex: http://www.jinx.com/scripts/details.asp?affid=-1&productID=267

Does anyone know off the back what that font is?

mullets suk 06-13-2006 12:59 PM

im pretty sure thats the only thing on the shirt. nothing much to it.

Lol, it's "off the bat", not "back".:p

I think it's probably something like Block Type Write or something like that. I could be completely wrong though.

mullets suk 06-13-2006 02:30 PM

ok, so my Joe Strummer shirt went a little wrong. its not ruined just, unplanned. I got the front and the back mixed up. so everything that i wanted to be on the front is now on the back and a little bit to low.

Here’s my main problem. the front looks to blank. does any one know anything small that i can put over the front of the shirt over the heart. (like a crest)

Rise Me Up 06-13-2006 03:20 PM

You could put the Clash Star logo.

Ghostfire3 06-13-2006 04:00 PM
o ok, i thought the world went mad or something. But really whats somethin i can put on the front.

You could put the Clash Star logo.
Yeah, that's a good idea. Something like this except bigger:

POINTLESS5448 06-13-2006 04:12 PM

just put "the clash". its simple, yet effective.

Thank you.

mullets suk 06-13-2006 08:16 PM

any ways no one posted so. here is the finished shirt:

far away: http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j73/h-drix/Picture001.jpg

close up: http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j73/h-drix/Picture002.jpg

if i do put something on the front ill put the clash star with joe stummers DoB and DoD. cause that would be the easiest thing to do, i think.

coheneran 06-14-2006 04:35 AM

Hey, not bad, it came out pretty good.

Ghostfire3 06-14-2006 11:24 AM

Yeah, that looks pretty cool.

Rise Me Up 06-14-2006 02:26 PM

It looks really awesome, IMO.

holy_roller99 06-14-2006 02:58 PM

that looks pretty wicked.

SantaDuJuan 06-14-2006 03:13 PM

Way to make the page super-wide, Kevin.

POINTLESS5448 06-14-2006 03:53 PM

thats the back?

mullets suk 06-14-2006 04:04 PM
yeah dude that shirt is sick!

Thanks alot, and yes thats the back. Its a little far down, so theres a good sized blank at the top.

Maybe im just a little to hard on myself, i dunno.

SantaDuJuan 06-14-2006 04:18 PM

Nah, I think when anyone makes something they instantly notice what they did wrong.

Shelvey 06-14-2006 05:45 PM

Mhmm, that's one of the coolest I've seen done in a long time. I love it!

My friend just made a wicked Aquabats tshirt yesterday, and it's really trippy too.

POINTLESS5448 06-14-2006 09:11 PM

so. tonight has been quite the eventful night. remember that suprise i was talking about? its done and its awesome! its an op ivy shirt. but this isnt a regular op ivy shirt. i stepped it up on this one. from the front it looks like just a plain ol op ivy shirt:
http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d172/pointless5448/IMG_0511.jpg
but when you look at the back:
http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d172/pointless5448/IMG_0513.jpg
i printed out 9 pages of parts of it and put them together on a big posterboard and i cut it out today. i didnt think it would turn out this well but it did. im pretty excited.
heres a picture of the monster stencil (double entendre):
http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d172/pointless5448/IMG_0525.jpg
heres a pick of the back with the cd
http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d172/pointless5448/IMG_0526.jpg
just thought it would make a cool picture.

SantaDuJuan 06-14-2006 09:23 PM

That's the coolest thing I've seen here.

Ghostfire3 06-14-2006 09:49 PM

Holy ****, that's awesome! Nice job :thumb:

POINTLESS5448 06-14-2006 09:51 PM
