Hey Mechanix from Megadeth is offcially pwned by the The Four Horsemen
Definately not. And Dave Mustaine wrote that song, Metallica just decided they would use it even though Mustaine wasn't with the band anymore.

irishslappop 01-29-2005 01:04 AM

mustaine owns. listen to hangar18. im sure many of you already know this.

Well ya I knew that........... it's just that since the music is exactly the same, I think the lyrics for the Four Horsemen were better than Mechanix.

Did you know at Metallica's first gig the only original sonmgs they had were Jump in the Fire, Mechanix, and Hit the Lights.

The rest were mostly Diamond Head covers.

That's my all time favorite Megadeth song.

As a matter opf fact I am listening to it at this very moment.

What are the odds?

Spaceman Spiff 01-29-2005 01:08 AM

Well, I'm just a much bigger fan of Megadeth than I am of Metallica.
Both have their high points, both have their low points... Metallica are still sinking lower though :D
However, Megadeth got out of their rut and Mustaine wrote a pretty good metal album which was The System Has Failed.

cliffburtonrules 01-29-2005 01:10 AM

Ya my bass teacher is a huge Megadeth fan and he says he listens to that CD more than any other. I grew up around Metallica but I really like Megadeth. \

But Metallica has more history with me. Cliff is my idol.

Spaceman Spiff 01-29-2005 01:15 AM

Metallica had 4 great albums, then they just started getting progressively worse.
There will always be a special place I hold for Reload because it got me into Metallica, but it really isn't anything special. The Black Album wasn't bad, but it was the beginning of their downfall.

irishslappop 01-29-2005 01:17 AM

i never liked metalica. i like a few songs i guess. the generic ones i.e. master of puppets, enter sandman, sanitarium. but i never really liked their sound. oh and my friend saw them live about 6 months ago, no master of puppets solo, the fast one. he couldn't play it live. he said he did some lame *** scale thing or some****. later i saw it on the rock forum too.

I agree with that 100%

I remember the first time I heard Metallica was when I was like 5 and Re-load had just came out and my dad was listening to it in the car and distinctively remember that chick's annoying voice in Memory Remains.

And I was watching home videos and when I was 1 the Black Album had just came out and it was playing in the background............ of little me eating finger foods.

That's bull****I saw them live last March and Kirk shredded that solo from front to back. Sometimes they do this thing where they combine Master of Puppets and Sanitarium.

irishslappop 01-29-2005 01:21 AM

idk i beleived him and some one on the rock forums was at the same show said the same thing. it was probably just that show.

cliffburtonrules 01-29-2005 01:23 AM

Probably..... I avoid going on the Rock orums anymore. I used to. But then these guys were just so much cooler. :thumb:

Spaceman Spiff 01-29-2005 01:23 AM

Well, when I saw Megadeth a few months ago they nailed every song. It was an amazing concert.
2 wicked hours of metal.

irishslappop 01-29-2005 01:24 AM

Was it you that gave me that list of songs to download from them a few days ago?

I think it was. If it was thanks there are some kick-*** songs. But my favorite and in my opinion the best is Hangar 18.

Spaceman Spiff 01-29-2005 01:28 AM

I don't know what happened to him, it doesn't seem like he's posted in a little while.

Listening to Melechesh. \m/
Fucking awesome... if you like this sort of music. They're black metal from Israel (I believe) and this album was written purposely to sound very Middle Eastern, and it turned out amazingly.

Yup, that was me.
What can I say? I know my Megadeth.
No problem about the list. People often forget to mention stuff from Killing Is My Business when recommending Megadeth, but I made sure to give you some good stuff from there.

cliffburtonrules 01-29-2005 01:32 AM

Ya I'm somewhat new to the metal scene.

I grew up in a strictly classic rock household (the good stuff)

Then after I found my dad's Metallica CD's after Lord knows how many years, I realized I'd rather listen to heavier stuff. Then I got into Maiden and Megadeth. I love this kind of music.

cliffburtonrules 01-29-2005 01:34 AM

See ya I'm trying to pick only a few songs cuz I'm using legal downloading so it's like....... .99 cents a song.

Spaceman Spiff 01-29-2005 01:34 AM

Yeah, I was into nu-metal way back like 7 years ago. But then about 4 years ago I started getting into real metal.
Well, except Metallica, I was always into them.

Anyway, I'm off to bed now.
Later d00dz.

irishslappop 01-29-2005 01:35 AM

man, you guys ever in a really weird mood listen to some nuclear rabbit. oh boy.
greg parrish's weird *** voice+ Jean baudin's 9 string bass= weird *** ****.

cliffburtonrules 01-29-2005 01:38 AM

Night dude, besides my teacher you're the only other guy I know that actually has respect for Megadeth.

cliffburtonrules 01-29-2005 01:40 AM

And to answer your question earlier, last I heard FUNKNBASS was MIA.

it sucks because I just came back after a few months off this place because my computer was broken, and most of the old vets were gone.

irishslappop 01-29-2005 01:45 AM

he was a cool guy to bad to hear he's A-WALL

cliffburtonrules 01-29-2005 01:49 AM

I know you're not really into metal but have you ever listened to Iron Maiden.

Steve Harris is the most amazing bassist songwriter I've ever seen. He wrote like 80% of their songs.

irishslappop 01-29-2005 01:51 AM

nah, never really listen to maiden. Geezer butler wrote nearly all black sabbath songs. :thumb:

cliffburtonrules 01-29-2005 01:57 AM

You really should at least hear some of them.

I just saw your bass thread. Nice :thumb:

See I wanna make my own but
1)too much money
2)have no idea what I'm doing. I dont know how to go about it.

irishslappop 01-29-2005 02:01 AM

ya man its a **** load of work. so im going to do it again, this time for money. i alreadu have a job lined up for a guy who goes to my school. :D i've never listend to iron maiden because there is this guy i know that i hate with all my soul and he wears iron maiden shirts every day. in my mind they weren't anygood by association with bitchface. gimme a good song to download :thumb:
