I really wish folk-punk would pay more attention to historical folk and Americana and not punk credibility.

That being said, I'm going to upload a bunch of old and new Las Cruces demos, covers, and other crap pretty soon, and I cover the Subhumans and Dag Nasty.

Is there a file uploading site that doesn't expire like YSI?

Anxious 11-15-2006 11:43 PM

I forget when the link expires but its alot longer than yousendit.

AndreTheHyena 11-15-2006 11:50 PM

Everyone go here and vote "yes" on my proposed comment: http://www.last.fm/music/Las+Cruces

I'm trying to take Las Cruces back from the hairy dudes.

Anxious 11-15-2006 11:53 PM

Those smelly bastards.

Done.

AndreTheHyena 11-15-2006 11:56 PM

Thanx.

Brain Toad 11-16-2006 02:45 AM

http://www.rapidshare.com never expires

coheneran 11-16-2006 06:12 AM

Yea, RapidShare is de bestest.

Andrew, they do pay attention to old American folk; they're constantly covering Woody Guthrie, Phil Ochs (admittedly not that old), Leadbelly and a few others. That Plan Puebla Panama thing is a Guthrie tune, for example.

Jon 11-16-2006 02:35 PM

How comes I've never heard Runnin' Riot by Cock Sparrer before yesterday.

Its SO GOOD.

Maybe even better than England Belongs to Me, probably better than Take Em All.

*turns up speakers and sings really loudly*

Excursions 11-16-2006 02:52 PM

Big deal, everyone covers Leadbelly and Woodie Guthrie. You know, since they are some of the biggest artists ever.

Liebensaft 11-16-2006 04:33 PM

Bomb threats are da bomb. I don't think I'm going to go to school tomorrow.

Flagjacket 11-16-2006 05:08 PM

I respect what cops do for scoiety.

Jon 11-16-2006 05:16 PM

Yeah Eran, those gosh darn cops who stop you from getting murdered by the fascists.

Because in an anarchy you'd be oh-so-much-better off with no one to protect you.

Saying that,allow taking our drugs.

coheneran 11-16-2006 05:48 PM

I've never seen or heard of a cop preventing a crime (though no doubt it happens, sometimes). Cops are there to punish criminals (justice), not to prevent them. What cops do to protect communities, the communities can do themselves, and they used to, that's what the City Watch was all about. When it turned into a Police Force, it turned into a tool of the state to oppress dissent.

asdf 11-16-2006 05:49 PM

No, judges and courts are for punishing criminals. Cops are there to prevent crimes.
No, judges and courts are for punishing criminals. Cops are there to prevent crimes.
Let me rephrase that: Cops are there to catch criminals so that they can be punished, but they still rarely prevent any crimes. And the argument that punishment prevents further crimes is quite bollocks, how many prisoners are re-offenders? I've been stopped for weed and I'm still doing it, even if the cops got me quite shook up when they arrested me. Punishment, or the fear of it, is not a deterrent. People don't kill people because they're scared of prison, they don't it because they're decent.

pedro durruti 11-16-2006 06:08 PM

I respect the government cause without them we'd be in chaos

So who's getting the Wii, huh?

coheneran 11-16-2006 06:47 PM

I don't want a Wii, I'm not that much of a whiny spoiled fatass with a heshe crackwhore mom.

/Southpark Reference FTW

lynch_me 11-16-2006 06:51 PM

A japenese guy in my class is skipping tomorrow to get a PS3. He gave me "statistics" that 80 percent of kids in japan skipped school to get one.

Rise Me Up 11-16-2006 06:52 PM

In that instance the cops seriously abused their power. You can't say that kid was resisting arrest or did anything wrong, because you can hear him saying "I said I would leave, please stop, please stop", not to mention when they asked him to stand up he had just been tasered repeatedly.

(at the video Eran posted, it showed the other page for me when i pressed last page for some reason)

Haha. Shows what comes first in Japan.

Iron Bug 11-16-2006 07:00 PM

They can't even release games in Japan on weekends anymore.

"A few others" being the key words there. Every folk-punk or riot-folk kid looks/sounds very similar to me, with the same tired crust covers played on a battered guitar with an Amebix sticker. It just seems like there's a whole lot of unused potential in the scene.

(r)evolution 11-16-2006 07:07 PM

im not getting a wii because of the stupid motion thingie. If i play a video game its so that i have fun not work out, damn japs.
