yeah they are overated, but some of the music is still good you have to give them that.

yeah i know - when someone asks someone else why they dont like a band, especially the ones considered "old/highly influential" people go crazy and go into crazy explanations throwing around words like "overrated" and "too many people think they're amazing" - if you truly dont like them for what they sound like, not just to be different er something along those lines, saying you dont like what they sound like is a good enough explanation

i dont like all metallica but I enjoy listening to some of there stuff, so when people ask me if I like them i dont say yeah they are amazing. Like some people i know, they make fun of what I listen to so im like what do you like? and they say Zeppelin or Beatles. So i ask them how many songs they can name, and all they know is Stairway To Heaven or Let It Be :rolleyes:

I like Zeppelin and Metallica - in moderation. Sure, heaps of people like them, but it doesn't mean you shouldn't. Having said that, I can't really listen to either of them for extended periods, especially Metallica - all the songs begin to sound the same after a while. From what Metallica albums i've listened to (MOP, Black Album), I agree they do seem overrated.

I just DLed Operation Ivy's Energy. It seems to have sparked a ska obsession, cos i'm DLing heaps more - Catch 22, Common Rider, Rx Bandits etc. What do you think of ska?
