i still haven't played it. i remember how Morrowind gave me that sense, but after playing it for about 6 months straight that mystery was destroyed and I can't play it anymore ;)

i also used to say quite often I would like to see the Fallout universe adapted to the Morrowind engine, when I heard years later that was actually happening I nearly creamed myself.

cranking steve earle. lulz

I_WEAR_RED_PANTS 05-29-2009 11:34 PM

it didn't get rid of what ails me either :(

Meatplow 05-30-2009 12:25 AM

I_WEAR_RED_PANTS 05-30-2009 12:56 AM

what's the longest you've ever stayed up?

my mate made a bet that he could stay awake longer than me and we spent all our time together so we made sure no one cheated he ended up winning after i crashed around the 74 hour mark

horseypie 05-30-2009 01:44 AM

Are Dell good or bad computers? I can never remember.

horseypie 05-30-2009 04:12 AM

dell are good
like for the computers theyre quite good but they have ridiculously good customer service

one of the guys at work has a dell laptop and one day the screen shat itself and didnt work, rang them up that day, the next morning at 8am a dell guy rocked up to work and replaced the screen free of charge. took like 20 minutes.

gaslight 05-30-2009 04:27 AM

Yeah that next business day on-site service is a treat.

I'm looking at getting either a Dell or Fujitsu for my new laptop.

Aes820 05-30-2009 04:58 AM

Dell are pretty good computers but the first thing you do when you get it is do a full uninstall > reinstall of the OS.
Because they come loaded up with all this weird rubbish that you don't need and only gives them their unreliable reputation.

I went bouldering today at snake rock. I am hurting so bad.

gaslight 05-30-2009 05:15 AM

Bouldering looks like incredible fun. That'll strong you up some.

I_WEAR_RED_PANTS 05-30-2009 08:49 AM

i have the dell xps m1730.

it hasn't pooped itself on me yet

gaslight 05-30-2009 08:53 AM

I'm considering a Vostra 1520 from them but I'll opt for a Fujitsu if I can find the right model of theirs because I trust their band from this one I have.

Meatplow 05-30-2009 10:49 AM

dell seemed to be a bit of running joke on some techy boards i've posted at for some reason

gaslight 05-30-2009 10:53 AM

Probably some elitist wannabe tech-heads or something. It's the same for any community on the internet really. Maybe they're not the best for gaming but I couldn't care less about computer gaming.

RunAmokRampant 05-30-2009 05:32 PM

Yeah I have a friend who works in IT and says Dell are a laughing stock.

Both him and I would recommed Toshiba.

yeah i probably shoulda uninstalled everything and started again but i didnt...it does have a heap of crap on it from them too and it always runs at like 60% memory usage which is a little odd i thought
but meh its a good pc it does the 3d CAD work i use it for for uni so im happy

Meatplow 05-30-2009 10:16 PM

speaking of uni, thinking of perhaps doing a course. my UAI was terrible though :*(

horseypie 05-30-2009 10:37 PM

youd be able to apply for a mature age student now im fair sure, and thats just like an interview and a test or something i think

gaslight 05-31-2009 01:38 AM

I think you need to be at least 25 to qualify as a mature age student.

nevertoolate 05-31-2009 04:16 AM

aahhh i thought it was like 23 or something
in any case there are other ways of getting into uni without a uai, go do a tafe course for 6 months and then transfer to uni you get preference over high school kids...im not sure on what courses or how you do it but i have a mate that did it

gaslight 05-31-2009 05:57 AM

horseypie 05-31-2009 06:08 AM

I did TAFE for 2 years, the only pitfall might be that I did a course which has little to do with the one I might want at uni. :p

goddamn I hate being unemployed

gaslight 05-31-2009 08:59 AM

You quit the KFC?

Meatplow 05-31-2009 09:48 AM

yeah. probably an ill decision :(

gaslight 05-31-2009 10:06 AM

Bummer.

You got any options lined up?

Meatplow 05-31-2009 10:27 AM

to get my bike up on the road and try to stretch the grand or so I have in the bank out as much as possible

i'll try and get job at the abattoirs or something in the meantime, apparently I can apply for second semester of uni atm so might look into that

gaslight 05-31-2009 10:30 AM

When your bike is running you could maybe look at courier work, I hear that can make a pretty penny.

Meatplow 05-31-2009 10:31 AM

i'll look into it. should become a postie lol, zipping around on one of those small bikes would be tits

gaslight 05-31-2009 10:41 AM

A mate of mine applied for that recently and didn't get it haha.

He was pretty bummed that he had to go through the probing in the physical exam and not get the job after.

Meatplow 05-31-2009 12:56 PM

....probing?
