I'll be totally satisfied if they play Learning to Live in Boston.
Be better if they played Take The Time :dribble: |
I listen to Octavarium, and, yes, it's a masterpiece as usual, but it just doesn't seem as great as I thought in my mind it would be. Of course, many random parts of the tracks are near-ORGASMIC, but still. Maybe I'm crazy ::wave:

It was better than I expected. Much better.
|
Octavarium in the space of about a month, has become one of my all-time favourite albums.
Every song is immense. |
I like the song, but its not great. Its tied with 6:00 as my least favorite DT song.
Meh, I like 6:00. Honor Thy Father is definitly one of my least favorite DT songs. |
I love the drumbeat at the beginning of honour thy father.
And the "Don't cross the crooked step!" part. it's probably the worst song on ToT though...well bar stream of conciousness. But it's just because I don't like instrumentals much. |
Get 'Scenes From a Memory.' You have the best albums, but not without SFAM. From start to finish, SFAM is a mind-blowing concept album. After that, then I would get 'A Change of Seasons.'
I second that completely, it is my favorite DT album, followed closely by Images And Words. A Change Of Seasons is definitely worthy of its own EP and is probably my favorite DT song. |

Thanks. :) I'm listening to that Zeppelin meddly a lot lately. "The Rover" just has the coolest riff. |
I didn't like the Zeppelin covers. The Deep Purple one was brilliant though.
|
I like the Queen and Kansas covers the best. The Zeppelin and Deep Purple covers are pretty good also.
|
Yeah, I preferred the Elton John and Deep Purple covers on ACOS.
|
The Iron Maiden covers were my favorite

i feel as giddy as a little school girl |
Hopefully my band will be covering Afterlife at an upcoming gig :D
|
Just watched the When Dream and Day Reunite DVD for the first time. Its great, well worth getting hold of, the solo duel between Sherinian, Rudess and Petrucci is just
|
I'm too poor for DVDs :(
|
I need the reunite one, it's only YTSE records, I take it?
|

Oh yeah. My favorite part of Ocatvarium is when James is naming all of those songs. "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds..." |

That's amazing. |
That's amazing.
Yeah, I was checking out the lyrics I was like "Whoa! How'd they do that?" |
It was even better live, on the big screen they had pictures to fit the lyrics.
|
Quit shoving it in our faces that we'll never seem them live.

I was floored when I heard that in the song. Like an instant "WTF" went into my head before realizing it was awesome. I couldnt pin-point a specific part in that epic that's my favorite. :) NP: Dream Theater - These Walls |
Does anybody else not like this thread title... sorry, I just think it's weak.
