What would you say if I said I was?

Shattered_Future 07-18-2006 08:17 PM
What would you say if I said I was?
Nothing. Pointing and laughing gets the job done well enough.

Nepenthe 07-18-2006 08:19 PM

Well then no, that's not what I'm saying.

Go to hell, go directly to hell, do not pass Go, do not collect £200

Every time I read this in my mind, the entire thing comes out with the voice of that unconscious bald guy in Ace Venture 2. Except without that weird accent on the $.

shadow_stalker 07-19-2006 01:29 AM
Galloglass ftw. Just wish their DVD had subtitles on it so I could understand the making of part.
It does have subtitles, but you have to turn them on manually
You guys are all just slaves to the grind. All you are, all you ever will be. Me and Sebastian, though, we're different. We're rebels.

i love comments like this, they are so stupid you cant help but laugh

Nepenthe 07-19-2006 01:18 PM

How dare you not take me seriously.

I watched that in bed last night, in my iPod. Priceless.

How the hell do I do that? I know how to turn my DVD player on and off...that's about it.

I gotta watch Ace Ventura 2 again. One of the best movies EVER.

If anyone cares, REVIVER has lost the lead singer Patrick von Maurik, and bassist Stefan Brederode. They decided it was too difficult to continue recording with the distance between the bandmembers and the birth of Patrick's new baby. It just couldn't work :(

Reviver has added Pieter Bas Borger from past Reviver demos and "Black Knight" into the lineup to replace the missing members.

Patrick and Stefan have rejoined Montany and they shall begin working on a new album soon!

I love both bands and hope both grow to be some of the best power metal out there. Montany has definitely released one of the best albums I own, New Born Day. I love Patrick's voice. takes some getting used to, but his accent makes the music, not breaks it.

Shattered_Future 07-19-2006 08:03 PM

And WHO is Reviver? :p

Maybe that's why I don't care...

MetalOz 07-19-2006 08:17 PM

I checked out Reviver's website and they sound pretty good. They only have one album and it was produced by Piet Sielck (Guitarist/Singer of Iron Savior and Producer of lots of great power metal).
Have any of you guys heard Brocas Helm? They sound like Slough Feg :o

I can upload a song or two if anyone's interested.
I thought they broke up in the 80s. I have 'Into Battle' on vinyl from back in 1984... it's pretty dated but it's good

Riva 07-19-2006 10:58 PM

Reviver and Brocas Helm both sound great.

Ollie, Defenders Of The Crown is awesome.

SF, you need to go to the setup on the main menu of the DVD. Then select ON where it says "Subtitles".

They had an awful translator though.

They did a live album and also a new album in 2004.

Lord Abortion 07-20-2006 03:23 AM

On that topic, I saw Skid Row last night supporting Guns and Roses...they were excellent.
I remember you and 18 and life were superb.

Human Fortress are one of my favourite bands right now.

Yes, that album you sent me is pretty damn awesome.

Stoic 07-21-2006 03:54 AM

Has anyone listened to the new Sabaton yet? I'm listening to it now and I get the feeling that they're repeating themselves...

Lord Abortion 07-21-2006 03:56 AM

I get the feeling that I can't download it from the DU because Rapidshare loves it up the bum.

Stormrider 07-21-2006 06:14 AM

Is their first album as good as Primo Victoria ?

Stoic 07-21-2006 08:05 AM

First for Fight is supposed to be a compilation of their demo material, not a real full length album. Still, I think it's better than Primo Victoria :)

From the first 5 seconds of the album, I got the feeling that it was one of the best albums ever. As it went on though, it got progressively more and more generic. Still good, just not completely original.

there should be a little button that says 'subtitles' on your dvd remote, press that and you should be able to scroll through a list of different ones (probably at the top of the screen or something)

Aye...Damn Joakim, he's got such an amazing voice but he's not creative at all when it comes to vocal lines :-\

Stormrider 07-21-2006 11:34 AM

The first time I heard the song Primo Victoria, where it's just the singer in the beginning...I was like what....:p

Heh

Riva 07-22-2006 05:45 PM

I decided to rank my top 10 power metal vocalists.

1. Carsten Frank (Galloglass)
2. Lord Tim (Dungeon)
3. Daniel Heiman (Lost Horizon)
4. Karl Goebel (Falconer)
5. Niklas Isefeldt (Dream Evil)
6. Zak Stevens (Savatage)
7. Joakim Broden (Sabaton)
8. Hansi Kursch (Blind Guardian)
9. Jon Olivia (Savatage)
10. Fabio Lione (Rhapsody)

I'd give my right arm to sing like any of them. Or at least my left arm, so I could still hold the mic.

Nepenthe 07-22-2006 05:50 PM
4. Karl Goebel (Falconer)
Glad to see a fellow Goebel lover. It seems as though everyone in the world prefers Blad.

Riva 07-22-2006 05:53 PM

Karl has a better voice, and has the added benefit of not looking like a midget in a bad coat. (metal-archives promo pic, anyone?)

Nepenthe 07-22-2006 05:55 PM

I don't think it matters what you look like if your in Falconer. As long as Karsten Larsson and his fro are sitting behind you, you don't look bad.

EDIT: It doesn't matter how embarassing your name is either, because your guitarist's name is Weinerhall. Falconer is just a nice band to be in if you're self conscious.

Riva 07-22-2006 05:57 PM

I mentioned to Bartender a while back that all the good power metal bands look like goons or university dropouts. It's an interesting trend.

Nepenthe 07-22-2006 05:58 PM

Or retards/supermodels.

And yes, I'm speaking of Lost Horizon. And yes, that's a cheap shot.
