I need a estimate here.

Radiobass81 03-31-2005 08:28 PM

Average?

Well, I've seen some standard ones for $3,200 (Mach I's).

Maybe you can get a used one.

Foxfire 03-31-2005 08:28 PM
Cliff: Worst part is it's REALLY comfy. Never worn it outside, tho. Only time I wore it was when I had no other cloth that fit me (used it to sleep) :p.

And, remember that bass I posted a few times in the Casuals? The reversed Thunderbird?

... It was sold :upset:.
My new reversed Thunderbird should be coming from UPS soon.

I'm an expert at eyeballing.

I made macaroni and cheese like a week ago and my sister said it was the best she's had........

good rats 03-31-2005 08:29 PM

I'm pretty sure there darn expensive. But search ebay for Wals. You can find them cheaper on good ol' Ebay.
I got confuzzled when i looked there...its slightly hard to navigate
Any brands you like in particular?

good rats 03-31-2005 08:30 PM

When I buy strings, I most often go D'addario.

Foxfire 03-31-2005 08:31 PM

They're by a company that has pro endorsers, and thus, they can afford to throw in a 2000-3000 USD upcharge.

Oh, and they're quality. :p

cliffburtonrules 03-31-2005 08:31 PM

Nah,

Something cheaper that I can get new.

Let's set the limit at like....... $1,200

Mind you $1,200 will take me a year or more to save up. But it's alright.

Those are what I have on my Squier.

I'm not sure what kind Ibanez uses. I still have the stock strings on my 305.
Cause..i just cant think of a place to use that low b..
Leave the B!!!!!!!

You get plenty of use out of it.

I mean think of it, you never need to drop tune, most bands that have extra-string basses are no more than 5 (you get the rare 6er in there)

I get plenty of use outta my 5.

I thought you left.

I think I want the Stu Hamm.

Or a Stingray, or a fretless Jazz.

good rats 03-31-2005 08:37 PM

He's not really up to his eyeballs in orders. I don't think anyone has actually placed an actual order. I think you should go Winters. Almighty Pancake seems to love his. Go Winters.

Dieforitall89 03-31-2005 08:38 PM
http://www.juststrings.com/ebl-1626.html
Righto, thanks.

cliffburtonrules 03-31-2005 08:39 PM

The Stu Hamm is like............... $1,400.

That may not seem like that much more but that's
$200!!!!

good rats 03-31-2005 08:40 PM

Well I'm after a new bass. I'm looking to spend about USD$900, or AUD$1200. I want a 5er, any suggestions?

I'd need to see like................. options.

A quote, or a catalog would help.

good rats 03-31-2005 08:42 PM

His website has got a quote page, pictures of the Scarab, and his deigns and heaps of wood choices.
His website has got a quote page, pictures of the Scarab, and his deigns and heaps of wood choices.
See I don't know my woods.........

I wouldn't know what to get or how to choose.

And come to think of it I don't think my parents would want me ordering a bass for that kinda money from some guy I met on the Internet.

I would absolutely LOVE a Winters though.

Dieforitall89 03-31-2005 08:45 PM
Well I'm after a new bass. I'm looking to spend about USD$900, or AUD$1200. I want a 5er, any suggestions?
You could afford a winters too.

good rats 03-31-2005 08:45 PM

Yea, fair enough.

Dieforitall89 03-31-2005 08:47 PM

Whee...my band wants another paranoid cover live...cept this time i get to make a solo for it instead of the guitar. :)

good rats 03-31-2005 08:48 PM
You could afford a winters too.
I could, but then there's the whole shipping problem, and it wouldn't be cheap to ship to Australia. I'd defiantly do it if I was in America, I'm just worried about something stuffing up when sending overseas. I will get a Winter's, but I think I'd rather buy a bass straight up, instead of waiting a few months for it too be built.

good rats 03-31-2005 08:49 PM

After reading what I just posted, I realise it didn't make much sense.

good rats 03-31-2005 09:00 PM

Where did everyone go all of a sudden?

cliffburtonrules 03-31-2005 09:02 PM

I don't know.

Breakfast stands alone.

AlmightyPancake 03-31-2005 09:03 PM

Good evening breakfast club. I see people talking about winters....

morpcat 03-31-2005 09:04 PM

Home, you're ugly. And my cat ate your breakfast. :amaze:
