Yeah, that pretty much the only stuff we do in our band, the winter/spring, some competitions, and maybe one more concert during the year.

Tomorrow is our christmas one, and we're only playing 9 songs. Its usually around 12, but some of the clarinets this year are crappy and couldnt do some stuff, so we moved slower while learning them. Silent night sounded AWFUL for todays school show. So I play in every single song, and it makes me mad that parts are still open and some lazy people decide not to do them because of reason like "the claves are gay" or "timpani is too hard".

Through all the songs, i play Bass drum, wind chimes twice, triangle three times, the funny vibroslap thing, timpani, and both the 20 and 16 inch crash cymbals in the same song. It's kind of hard, i have to switch over a very fast 5 bar rest, but i cant make any noise at all during the change. Then i switch back for the end, but its a slow part in the song that goes to an epic ending.

EDIT: oh, and we dont even have a percussion director or anything like that, we just have one head director for each band. You guys are either big, or we're just small and poor.

I got my intire percussion section mad at me today :(

I tried to tell them to shut up and listen and pay attention and ****, and just because there was a sub it didn't mean they were allowed to be total jackass's to everyone else. Turns out I was apparently wrong..:confused: Being Section Leader sucks..They all think I'm some sort of power hungry, mother ****in', **** sucking, moron who wants everything to go my way. Except our band teacher told me to tell them off if I had to. :p

Just got back from the talent show my band entered.
We won first place, which was £50.

Not only that, but we beat a guy who was being extremely cocky saying that his band were better than us, and they got told they were terrible by the judges. Also, I beat my English teacher and his daughter. Although in my opinion, they deserved to win.

We dont have section leaders in our band either, its usually the people that have been in band longest that are in percussion. The funny thing is, 5 of our 8 persuccionists are in 10th grade (1 in 9th, other in 12th), and 2 in tenth grade have been in it longer, but its usually me telling them all to STFU because were about to play and the aforementioned lazy bastard is yelling retarded stuff or hitting on some flute player, or i am the one putting music sheets in order before we play. If we dont get a lot more percussionists in the next 2 years, pretty much the entire percussion section graduates with me.

Rep is pretty much your e-penis. No really, rep is what you get when a mod or someone with over 1000 rep, likes something, you said or did. There a quite a few pop-punkers that are able to give out rep. Once you get your 1000 rep, you get 4 stars. It can be quite hard to get if you don't do anything, for instance, me I only have 44 rep. One time I was repped for sending a blink 182 album to Dan (Rancid Dan) and the other time, Brian (Mute Print) was trying to see how much he gave out.

Anyways, did anyone go to school today? Did you guys have snowdays?

My school didn't have a snow day, but very few people showed up at school. I went to first period and there was about 11 people in there and we talked our teacher into watching a movie, after a bit of a snowball fight and threatening her with a snowball. She then got Polar Express and The Grinch. The people in my class chose Polar Express, which made me mad, Grinch is awesome. So, we ended up watching that the whole class. My next period I went to too, even though Brandon and Alex left. It wasmath class and my math teacher actually tried making us do work. He had some wierd activity that no one really did. After him giving up, we played asshole and I kept losing. After that I thought it was time to leave. So, I went to the cafeteria for the 3rd period lunch and found people I knew and got them to leave to. So, I ended up skipping periods 4 and 5, and my mom doesn't care.:cool:
