Unbelievably, I don't have that kind of cash. I'm pretty close to it, but shipping would kill me.

Mitchell Royce 03-31-2005 01:08 PM

That sucks. Oh well, another one is bound to pop up eventually.

Times? Ever since the time change to Summer I have been completly thrown off.

cliffburtonrules 03-31-2005 01:10 PM

When's Daylight Saving's time ending? Or starting?

I know I'm gonna have change my clock soon.

Mitchell Royce 03-31-2005 01:11 PM

It changed for me thos past Sunday night.

Radiobass81 03-31-2005 01:12 PM

It's really annoying here, because we don't change our time, but the american TV shows are an hour later.

Mitchell Royce 03-31-2005 01:14 PM

Allright, I'm off. Talk to you guys later.

Whereabouts do you live?

Ya, Daylight Savings Time blows.

But in some states they don't have it.

Radiobass81 03-31-2005 01:15 PM

Puerto Rico

no freakin clue, but daylight savings time is ending sometime in April.... the middle maybe?? But the funny thing is watching like CNN and watching the clock jump from 1:59:59 to 3:00:00. I know, it's dumb, but funny to do. I haven't done it going back yet....

cliffburtonrules 03-31-2005 01:16 PM

Oh,

What's the time difference from here to there? (here being Southern California)

cliffburtonrules 03-31-2005 01:17 PM

Radiobass81 03-31-2005 01:17 PM
So how'd that tapping tip help you?
o yeah, I got the sound to come out really nice. I just have to adjust my distortion and i gotta get my hands coordinated to get the harmonics. Like, i get the first one good, but i need to practice moving my hands both equally and stuff.... I'll work on it this weekend. Thanx a bunch, I couldn't ever figure that out, after asking tons of people. I accidentially got it, when I bumped my bass but I didn't know how and couldn't figure it out. Now I can finally master Pullling Teeth!!!

REP +++++

too bad we dont' have that anymore, but I give you invisible rep points.

Thank you.

It's hard for me to hear myself when I do those harmonics. I'm no genius with EQ and tone though.......

And my bp80 can't even come close to Cliff's tone. I want that Morley so bad...

cliffburtonrules 03-31-2005 01:39 PM

I'm hungry.

Time to eat.

I'll be back soon enough

bottlerocket 03-31-2005 02:05 PM
*has no idea what that means :upset:*
It's Pink Floyd...not Floud. Tool is a slang term for idiot, dolt, moron, etc. It means a device to accomplish work (like a hammer), too, and it is the name of a band (with Justin Chancellor), but it's an insult in English-speaking countries. Well, I knew it was in the USA, but I guess it is in England, too, thanks to Alex. :p

He meant it sarcastically, though. We love you, Radio. :)

It's not common here. In fact, on reflection, I'd never use it seriously, only in jest. And only when affecting a pretentious air, too. Odd that.

What's the origin of the intentional mispelling?

Does anyone know?

Wintermute 03-31-2005 02:13 PM

Yes, it was meant to be 'owned', but it was mis-spelt in a prominently placed Warcraft quiz, and it caught on.

bottlerocket 03-31-2005 02:13 PM

^ I win I win? I have no idea.

Alex: I see...well, it's used here a lot by teenagers. It's replacing "fag" as an insult, thank God. I hate when people say, "what a fag," etc. It's so lame.
Yes, it was meant to be 'owned', but it was mis-spelt in a prominently placed Warcraft quiz, and it caught on.
I heard it was the Warcraft game itself in its first few months fo release. Once you were utterly destroyed by another player, it was supposed to say, "You got owned," but, a misspelling made it say "you got pwned." I didn't know it was a quiz.

Someone said fag in a tapping thread yesterday.

n00b.
Hmm...boiling my strings for the 1st time, is there any way i could dry them in 3 hours?
Yeah, mine are usually dry by then...just drain the water in the sink and let the strings sit in the pot for a bit to cool down. Then, take them out carefully and lay them flat on a towel (without touching eachother) to dry. Takes about an hour, sometimes more or less, depending on humidity, string type, etc.
