I've been in Poland this week cause of the funeral and I am back since Wednesday. No Internet in vienna, again some problems with my flatmates, the job isn't going as well, i "stopped" writing on my diploma thesis to concentrate on exams and therefore I will finish my thesis in summer... too much **** happened the last 2 days. Beside of that I have to think about my ex-gf all the time... life can be pretty -> :upset:

Yeah, I sort of brooke up with my lady.
I'm in a pretty sweet situation right now I guess.
We didn't break up fighting.
And she was still like 'I like you, but what we have now doesn't work out, at this point of time'.
Same as I felt, but she had an addition in the fact that maybe it would be able to work again somtime.
So we are going our own way now, continue to do ballroom dancing togehter and give eachother time.

For me it means: I'm a free man, so if I get in touch with a girl I like, I'll go for her.
If not and we feel ok with going on, Nikkie and I will be going on.

Most of my ancestry can be traced back to France. My family name comes from Brittany.

I do have some native american in me as well, a few generations back. Might have some English on my moms side many generations back aswell. Her family name originated in France but it has traces in both France and England due to the French rule in England.

Been wanting to do a family tree for a while, but it's very expensive.

My dad did a family tree once.
It also took a lot of time.
Still it's interesting, but it shouldn't get any further then factual information.
I mean all of these family reunion things suck imo. I don't care much for people related to me from generations and generations ago.
I know my own direct family, the heredity stuff, meh.
We're related, but that doesn't mean all that much to me if it's so distant.

No, I meant paying someone to look back in your family background/ancestors by using archives that we don't have access to :p

Went to all the archives and shi.
Here you can do it yourself, if you pay for it, that is.

there's people out there who will trace it all the way back for you, but you still have to pay them. Kinda strange, why not just do it yourself?

My family does it ourself

Grandfather (Norwegian side) keeps track of stuff but i never hear much outside of really farfetched stories and goofy stuff

On the Italian side well
LaPianta isnt a v common italian surname so we asked my great uncle and he said LaPlante is a rly common french name and one of our ancestors is really just a deserter from napoleons army who started living in italian mountains

i used to work with a really annoying fat girl with the last name LaPlante....

Because you don't nessecarily have access to everything they do. I can't really gather the information by myself because I have no where to look.
