I saw the Spped/ Kill/ Hate album when I was in town. Sadly, I only had $20 (Aus) so I couldnt get it. So who is actually in the band?
I saw the Spped/ Kill/ Hate album when I was in town. Sadly, I only had $20 (Aus) so I couldnt get it. So who is actually in the band?
Tim Mallare - Drums
Dave Linsk - Guitars
Derek Tailer - Bass
Some guy named Mario on Vocals

The top three are all current Overkill members, so I haven't yet sample these guys, but I'm sure they're very similar to the 'Kill, just maybe with a different taste of vocals

metal-militia 04-09-2005 11:10 AM

Derek Tailor plays bass too? The top 3 are on the Wrecking Everyything Live album, and they get the classics just right.

Sabbat CD still hasn't arrived. :(

I agree.

The DVD shows that they can carry the torch just as well as Bobby Gustafon and Rat Skates.

Ok so I can't remember how to spell too great x.x

I personally think that Dave, Tim and Derek do a great addition to the "WRECKING CREW"!

*thrash* hehe :D

Good luck the postal service over there, Metal-Militia. America isn't any better x.x

RavenousMetalist87 04-09-2005 11:57 AM

I just realized at the end of Mad Butcher (The one ThrashMaster kindly donated), they play "The Pink Panther".

Just listen to it after the song ends, and after awhile, there will be some silence. Then they come back with some weird song, but it's the Pink Panther theme XD

That's just as classic as Rotten To The Core (live) with You Are My Sunshine from the **** You and Then Some EP, then Stalinhagel's odd ending on One Night in Bangkok, then...well lets see, who else does some crazy things in thrash...

Coroner's cover of Purple Haze makes me want to go learn it XD
Those 2cd sets are Melissa/The Beginning and Don't Break The Oath and one that i cant remember

Corporal Compendia 04-09-2005 01:58 PM
Evil Invaders.

You got your best release there.
I don't know man, I'd tip the hat to VIOLENT RESTITUTION! It's just so...intense! Right from the start The Marshall Arts is just like... *raging headbanging* RAHHHH!

Oh yeah, I forgot to thank you for that Vio-lence. It was fvcking awesome. lmao when Paul says 'How many people go out on the streets looking to kick someones fvckin' ***'. Man I think I love Exodus even more now. Slayer were awesome on there too and I enjoyed Kerrys solos for a change. Shame Venom were cut short though :(

Yeh Tailer plays Bass in Speed Kill hate, and guitar in the 'Kill.

And the Wrecking Everything Live CD/DVD is a great listen

metal-militia 04-09-2005 06:14 PM

What other stuff is on the DVD? I've got the CD but i'm wondering if i should get the DVD too.

Well, there are five more parts to that video. I don't have heaps more from the 80's i however have:

Thrash Of The Titans:
Forbidden - Through Eyes Of Glass
Testament - Alone in The Dark (with skolnick and zetro) and Into The Pit (with skolnick again)
Vio-lence - Serial Killer, Eternal Nightmare and Officer Nice.

I also have Exodus playing No Love from the Another Lesson In Violence show.

These will all be uploaded in the future.:chug:

ForiegnPenguin 04-09-2005 08:46 PM

Thanks, that should be sweet.

RCA 04-09-2005 09:28 PM

Damn. One day I post and there's only been one reply since the last time I've posted. But today, you all just crammed it full! Let me catch up.

1. Best Razor album = Open Hostility

2. Razor needs to tour. NOW.

3. Razor fucking owns.

4. You can still d/l from me, even though I am away.

Corporal, do you take your username from the Windham Hell song of the same title?

ThrashMaster27 04-09-2005 10:32 PM

Alright, I don't know how long it took to upload cause I was sleeping, but I've finally uploaded Coroner - Mental Vortex. I'm thinking of uploading a few more albums in the near future, so any ideas, throw them my way.

How does Mental Vortex compare to Punishment for Decadence or RIP?

Since Dargon left, now there is no one from this thread's soulseek files i can view. :(

It's quite a big switch. Not as Thrashy, but it's still a great album. Pretty complex. Dunno why they did a Beatles cover though... probably the same reason they did a Hendrix cover.

Apocalyptic Raids 04-09-2005 11:31 PM

Thanks, might download it a bit later.

It has it's good thrashy moments, but definitely it is pretty progressive and technical.

Not a bad album though. I am liking it a lot

Apocalyptic Raids 04-09-2005 11:54 PM

I've been listening to heaps of technical metal lately.

NP: Assassin - Interstellar Experience

Apocalyptic Raids 04-10-2005 03:50 AM

Speaking of Assassin, it seems their new album is out.

DimebagDarrell 04-10-2005 04:08 AM

NP: Overkill - F.U.C.T

a8o 04-10-2005 08:25 AM

Picked up a few records the other day on LP. A really nice collection there pretty much all albums from Exodus, Rage, Destruction, Possessed, Testament, Maiden, Bathory, Flotsam and Jetsam and a few Slayer. Could only pick up a few things and mainly wanted stuff I've already listned to extensively to get the 'genuine article.'

Maiden - Powerslave, Seventh Son
Anthrax - Spreading the Disease
Bathory - The Return
Testament - Practice What You Preach
Possessed - Seven Churches

Could've had Darkness Descends, but the LP was a bit shot up and had been played too often :D I don't care what you say about the Testament record, it's one of my favourites. I like the streamlined sound they'd found by then and lost the bull**** aggression they were never really as good at as the big 4. Wish I could've bought more, very reasonable prices. Ended up $50 total and a lot of it sounds better than I remember it. There are bass parts on the Maiden records which are inaudible on CD and when you're talking Steve Harris you want to hear it all and I'm happy to see the Anthrax cover art in 12" glory.

Anybody like Seven Churches?

a8o 04-10-2005 08:26 AM
Wow, I'm the longest member that's still active on here.

I'm proud.

NP: Megadeth - Hook In Mouth
What's that link again (like how can you tell who has the most posts in this thread etc.)?

I love Seven Churches, and Seventh Son of A Seventh Son is probably my favorite metal album. Nice haul there! :thumb:

metal-militia 04-10-2005 09:51 AM

Seven Churches is great, even if you can only make out abot 3 words on the whole thing. :p

sensitiveorgan00 04-10-2005 09:59 AM

I love the piss-poor drumming on SEVEN CHURCHES.

NP: Slayer - Die By the Sword

ForiegnPenguin 04-10-2005 10:00 AM

Nice finds, Powerslave is one of my favorites.
