I will search it out in a bit.

Txus 01-14-2008 04:59 PM

I still need 1 album of theirs.
oh. well Ten East are still pretty cool. they have Greg Ginn on bass now instead of Brant Bjork I think.
Ten East are: Gary Arce (Yawning Man, Fatso Jetson, Sort Of Quartet), Mario Lalli (Fatso Jetson, Yawning Man), Brant Bjork (Kyuss) and Bill Stinson (HOR, Greg Ginn).

TEN EAST is in the studio right now finishing up the second recording for Australia's Lexicon Devil records.

The next recording is called "The Robot's Guide to Freedom" and the band is also recording with guitarist Bryan Giles (Last of the Juanitas / Red Fang) for a later slab of music and there is a plan to do a split CD with Fatso Jetson possibly so these are the songs for that.

So they are doing a split with Jetson, that is amazing.

GOddamn, what a great lineup. I'll have to download some of their stuff.

pate 01-14-2008 07:02 PM
Yeah. Someone who read an interview fromt hem told me the band themselves said they're not christian. They read the bible while tripping on lsd, and there you have their lyrics.

Something like that. I haven't read the interview.
Yeah. Their drummer and one guitarist are religious though. (The drummer's a preacher or some ****)

Txus 01-14-2008 07:14 PM

Preacher with an LSD addiction, nice.

Iron Bars 01-15-2008 10:36 AM

I listened to Psalm 9 and The Skull a few times but never really got into Trouble.

gmoneyguy 01-15-2008 10:37 AM

SMC is what got me into Trouble.

(lol)

pate 01-15-2008 11:06 AM

Psalm 9 all the way.

I got their DVD like last week, and it's getting me more into their middle era stuff.

AlienEater 01-15-2008 11:51 AM

Nostalgia 01-15-2008 10:07 PM

I'm downloading Warning - Strength to Dream right now. I hope it's as good as Watching From a Distance.

Angmar 01-15-2008 10:09 PM

I really like Watching From a Distance, probably my favorite doom album from 2007.

FatalEnergy 01-15-2008 10:38 PM

Trouble's s/t is quite good. Although I haven't listened to it in a while.

gmoneyguy 01-15-2008 10:44 PM

Imo SMC is their strongest album where vocals are concerned.

NemesisDivina 01-15-2008 11:00 PM

Psalm 9 owns Simple Mind Condition. But I like that chorus on the title track of SMC.

"Mind, Mind, Mind, Simple Mind Condition"

Iron Bars 01-16-2008 03:01 AM
Imo SMC is their strongest album where vocals are concerned.
The vocals is wat bothered me most about Psalm 9. I'll listen to it again and maybe try and get a hold of Simple Mind Condition.
I'm downloading Warning - Strength to Dream right now. I hope it's as good as Watching From a Distance.
It isn't.

Angmar: Watching From a Distance was released in 2006.

pate 01-16-2008 08:07 AM

My ranking of top 4 Trouble albums:

1. Psalm 9
2. SMC
3. The Skull
4. Trouble

Jondur 01-16-2008 08:27 AM
It isn't.
Tis.

Both are essential anyway.

pate 01-16-2008 08:30 AM

Hey Jondur. How did Pagan Altar audition part 2 go?

Angmar 01-16-2008 08:41 AM
Angmar: Watching From a Distance was released in 2006.
Gahh, ****, you're right.

:/

EDIT: Lee what are you talking about pagan altar audition?

Jondur 01-16-2008 08:44 AM

Didn't get the gig unfortunately. It's a shame but hey, at least I played with Pagan Altar! I must admit the drive there was brutal - had to set off at 7.30am for an 11am rehearsal so I was knackered by the time I got there. A nice 300 mile round trip!

They have got a new drummer now so they should be back on the road soon.

Angmar 01-16-2008 08:45 AM

I would kill to see Pagan Altar.

gmoneyguy 01-16-2008 08:45 AM
The vocals is wat bothered me most about Psalm 9. I'll listen to it again and maybe try and get a hold of Simple Mind Condition.
Vocal are definitely weak on Psalm 9 when compared to SMC, but the riffing on Psalm 9 is quite good.

Iron Bars 01-16-2008 08:59 AM

I just listened to it again and this time it didn't bore me as I thought it had done the last time I tried to listen to it. I thought is was actually pretty good, best song for now Endtime. I gues I'm starting to get used to the traditionel doom style.

Jondur 01-16-2008 08:59 AM
I would kill to see Pagan Altar.
Well owing to the errr... cosy nature of their rehearsal rooms I got to see Al bust out those solos from less than 2 foot and had Terry directly in front of me singing like he was doing Wembly Arena. You have to hand it to these guys, they're not exactly teenagers anymore but after 3 hours rehearsal I was knackered and they were going "OK what shall we do next?". Pretty impressive when you consider I'm 30 years younger than Terry!

Iron Bars 01-16-2008 09:01 AM

Have you heard if you're their new drummer?

Jondur 01-16-2008 09:05 AM

I'm not. Their new drummer is a chap called Andy Green.

Iron Bars 01-16-2008 09:12 AM

That's too bad, man.
