Okay Cheers mate. I'll have a think. :thumb:
You could probably sampel some songs from each album off of Amazon, myspace or the bands official homepage.

periculosus 02-10-2006 08:26 PM

honestly guys can somedy help and tell me about the cd some kind of homecoming please
Question; Gonna buy DT Album...

...Which?
All depends on what type of DT fan you are? There are two main divisions: the metal enthusiasts and everyone else.

If you are looking for awesome riffs, go for 6DOIT, Train of Though, Octavarium. If you're looking for pure DT bliss (including countless musical orgasms), go for Image and Words, Awake, WDADU or Falling into infinity.

I recommend Images and Words as a first album. It consists of various metally bits (mainly Metropolis), tonnes of great solos, tonnes of highly inspirational moments (Learning to live!!!), and generally each song is a song of its own.

nowitzki 02-10-2006 08:56 PM

I'd reccomend SFAM for your first DT album, or possibly ToT if your after something more metal. Every album GenuineImitation ranked as #1 are just incredible though.

Never heard of it, what do you know about it?

ghettoeddo 02-10-2006 09:02 PM

tonnes. haha you aussies :]

so i did research on the recent asian setlists and i've concluded that their NA setlist will go something like this if it follows a general pattern:
set 1:
1) The Root Of All Evil
2) Another Won/Never Enough/Panic Attack
3) A Fortune In Lies
4) Under A Glass Moon
5) Caught In A Web
6) Peruvian Skies
7) Strange Deja Vu/Fatal Tragedy
8) Solitary Shell
9) About To Crash (Reprise)
10) Losing Time/Grand Finale
~~~~intermission~~~~
1) The Glass Prison (As I Am)
2) Endless Sacrifice
3) I Walk Beside You
4) Sacrificed Sons
5) Octavarium
~~~Encore~~~
1) Pull Me Under/Metropolis Pt. 1
OR
1) The Spirit Carries On/Learning To Live

not totally happy w/ the choices, but im not complaining. wish they'd do take the time or surrounded though.

GenuineImitation 02-10-2006 09:23 PM

They should remove I Walk Beside You and replace it with In The Name of God.

I like the song, but its not great. Its tied with 6:00 as my least favorite DT song.

Aaron_Of_Oz 02-10-2006 10:36 PM

Yeah I never really liked 6:00 either

ghettoeddo 02-10-2006 10:39 PM

i'd have to say lines in the sand is my current least favorite.
too long and boring for me.
either that or the test that stumped them all. i can't stand it for some reason.

Mr.Metalton 02-11-2006 12:09 AM

I dont know i like a lot of DT songs i really dont like Honor thy father actually. Its the only song i dont like listening to.

Jev 02-11-2006 07:21 AM

I quite like I Walk Beside You but it'd be better if it was replaced with In The Name of God, I agree with that.

ghettoeddo 02-11-2006 01:17 PM

yea honor thy father is my least fave off of ToT

Jev 02-11-2006 01:49 PM

It's a bit angsty and childish. It's one of the reasons I don't like Portnoy's lyrics too much

nowitzki 02-11-2006 02:17 PM

Has anyone heard any of Jordan's solo material? I'm tempted to get Rhythm of Time.

bwnstl 02-11-2006 02:17 PM

Yeah, I like it considerably better than his material with DT.

Dimebag Johnny Patton 02-11-2006 03:33 PM

Does anyone know when DT are releasing their new "four hour long" dvd?
I can't wait.

Clunge 02-11-2006 04:14 PM

Advise me.

I have Images And Words, Train Of Thought and Octavarium, each of which I love.

Which album should I get next?

Six Degrees of Inner Turbulance or Awake. It will take a little while for Awake to grow on you, but it's arguable their best album. 6DOIT, on the other hand, is fantastic right from the get go, and is also one of their best.

Get 'Scenes From a Memory.' You have the best albums, but not without SFAM. From start to finish, SFAM is a mind-blowing concept album. After that, then I would get 'A Change of Seasons.'

bwnstl 02-11-2006 05:08 PM

Oh wow, I forgot SFAM, I'm stupid. Yes, get that one, and THEN get Awake or 6DOIT

Clunge 02-11-2006 05:56 PM

:chug: Many thanks. Can't believe I went so long without knowing of DT.

3 tickets. One for me, one for my cousin and one for my dad (my dad loves DT).

HNLzero 02-11-2006 07:46 PM

I'll be totally satisfied if they play Learning to Live in Boston.
