Metallicat 12-18-2003 10:36 AM
And that nothing on St. Anger is memorable.
true. but it's catchy as hell. My lifestyle determines my deathstyle!

Pantalica 12-18-2003 10:40 AM
amen

can someone suggest more songs from metallica that are decent besides

master of puppets
fade to black
the one
enter sandman
the unforgivin

i know there is more, those are just the ones im familiar with:)
Those are all really good songs but the songs from the kill em all cd are all really good.
I suggest motorbreath or Anestasia if you play bass.

Pantalica 12-18-2003 10:41 AM

thats Frantic ur singing buddy.

Pantalica 12-18-2003 10:43 AM
could pantera ever "match" metallica speed wise?
i heard them play the kill em all seek and destroy and it kicked ***. It was almost better than the origanal!

0000 12-18-2003 10:46 AM

Yeah. Frantic. Hate the lyrics to that song. In fact the whole album is quite lyrically shallow.
Its funny, Pantalica's there talking about the best bits of Kill 'em all and were talking about St. Anger and really if you played both of them for someone who'd never heard of metal or metallica they wouldnt think it was the same band....... where did it all go wrong.......

bigf'nbird 12-18-2003 10:48 AM

*DIS-gruntled....and Metallica sucks.

I noticed that aswell. How Childish that he had to point out such a minor spelling mistake.

we all gonna die! 12-18-2003 01:40 PM
i liked metallica's older stuff better than there new (who doesn't?), but my favorite song out of all would be master of puppets.

i like how it goes from there normal stuff in that song, to nice and soft and slow, then to unique solo's

i also like enter sandman, its a preety well balanced song.

lets try to keep this thread alive
exactly what i think

who else is going to see them in earls court on saturday?

metallicamaster 12-18-2003 01:46 PM

St Anger is not that bad

St Anger is in my opinon a good work of metal... sure it could use a few solos but as Kirk said they really didnt fit... its a new direction to be sure and of cource Master and Lightning are unrepetable masterpieces. Ask Divinci to repain the MonaLisa or something like that it cant be done... We should all accept St Anger for what it is... some good rock and roll... like the guy above said "its catchy as hell". Right. Hey when are we going to find the tour dates for the new US Tour I hope that Metallica does come to NC within the summer if not im going to be pissed.

FrailandBedazzled1979 12-18-2003 01:47 PM

i think they had to get St.Anger out of their system and that will be the last album of that sort of sound and song writing style, maybe now they will focus more and get back to writing songs that will be considered classics rather than songs that are raw and either completly hated by the majority and loved by a few.

RockerGav 12-18-2003 01:50 PM

I got a copy of RTL today.

FrailandBedazzled1979 12-18-2003 01:52 PM

what do you think of it? I bought that back in either 96' or 97' and was hooked on it then. Creeping Death, the title track, and Trapped Under Ice are still some of my favourites. really bad drumming on that album IMO, and basically the first "real" metallica cd with all the actual band members writing on it. I used to have the chorus to "escape" written on my bookbag in like 6th n 7th grade haha.

superpeer 12-18-2003 01:57 PM

That is my favourite Metallica Album !

Perhaps even my favourite album overall.

Due to having got 5 cds in 2 days, playing guitar for 2 + hours a day, going to school, and posting, I've not listened to it all yet.

superpeer 12-18-2003 02:04 PM

RockerGav 12-18-2003 02:11 PM

Iron Maiden - Iron Maiden
Iron Maiden - Powerslave
RATM - Battle of LA
Ozzy - Ozzmosis

superpeer 12-18-2003 02:19 PM

Ramsey 12-18-2003 02:19 PM
...if you play bass.

Sweet, is your Iron Maiden Collection completed now?
Nah, I only have 5. others being Brave New World, Dance of Death, and Best of the Beast.

That leaves me 9 more studio albums, Edward the Great (Which I won't get, who needs 2 greatest hits cds?), and the live ones, which I might get.

NailHead 12-18-2003 02:47 PM

Distorted Vision 12-18-2003 02:52 PM

Call of Orion 12-18-2003 04:01 PM

My favorite 'tallica albums
1. S&M
2. Master of Puppets
3. Black Album
4. Ride the Lightning
5. Load
6. ReLoad
7. Kill 'Em All
8. St. Anger

But they're all very close, and I like St. Anger.

FrailandBedazzled1979 12-18-2003 04:02 PM

^^^

i aggree with the last two. Aside from St.Anger, Kill was always my least favourite. MOP Is my favourite as well, followd by the black albm and than load/re-load.

GaryDaNoTrashCougar 12-18-2003 04:05 PM

I put Ride The Lightning and Kill em all over the rest of their albums

ZildjianDummer 12-18-2003 08:08 PM

still havent gotten the powerchords for One, someone help. Where is Earl's court? if its ne where close to where i live they should be on tv

Led Zeppp 12-18-2003 08:20 PM

question here:

the unforgiven OR the unforgiven II... which do you prefer?

also, why did they make unforgiven II?... not that i'm complaining, cuz its great.

bball_1523 12-18-2003 08:36 PM

I like unforgiven better because it just sounds better, especially the intro.

I don't know why they made Unforgiven II but I'm guessing just to make the 'Unforgiven' title a popular song or something.

ZildjianDummer 12-18-2003 09:26 PM

does anyone know some cool riffs for guitar that arent too hard , metallica or not? if so send link

frantic is on st. anger, buddy.

RockerGav 12-19-2003 01:09 AM

Earls Court is in London. Someone at my school was offering me tickets, but since I'm only 14 and I can't get to London/wouldn't be allowed if I could, I can't go.

London is almost the whole of the UK away from me btw.

From what I'm hearing, I prefer Ride to MOP.

Ramsey 12-19-2003 03:03 AM
call me stupid, but whats bump mean
Ok stupid :p

We are just bumping the thread up so it stays at the top of the forum, to keep metallica thread makers at bay

A little suggestion guys. Like the death heads thread, lets do a np (now playing) thingy. I think it would be cool. It doesn't necessarily have to be metallica.

kirk_wylde 12-19-2003 03:54 AM

Mustaine27 12-19-2003 05:27 AM

Does anyone else think Metallica ****ed up on all of the Motorhead covers they did on Garage Inc.? I really don't like them one bit.
