Has anyone ever seen We're In This Together Now live?
I would LOVE to see it live, but none of the bootlegs I can get a hold of have it on there (you can see all of their tracklists). It sucks. It seems like that would be an aweosme song live.

BlindWriting 05-14-2005 07:58 PM

What is the "NIN – Collected" DVD?
Look here:
http://www.bandbuilder.com/nin/index.php?ref_code=D57518
Official? Bootleg? A scam? I'd love to know.

misunderstood 05-14-2005 08:27 PM

I'm not too sure if it's an official release or not (if it is, then this would be halo 20) but according to the NIN hotline it contains:

"[The DVD contains a] Body of Work section identical to the one on TDS Dualdisc, but updated with Halo 18 and 19.

Then there's the featurette. From the descriptions I read of the listening parties, this is what was played on screens at those. The opening is clips from various NIN videos, then it plays clips of every NIN video, Woodstock '94, Closure, AATCHB, etc, all in chronological order, opened by titles like "[1989]" and "THE_PERFECT_DRUG." The quality looks and sounds pretty much flawless. The length of this entire deal is probably under half an hour. "

I saw this dvd on ebay a couple days ago selling for about $99..but then I read somewhere that the dvd is going to come with some magazines, bundled with some video games, and given out at clubs...and well, NIN.com is giving it out for free...
*hopes to get it in the mail*

AIC/EAZY-E 05-15-2005 04:36 AM

Well I've been carefully cutting down and altering the songs on my 2 CD's for a NIN compilation. It simply cannot be done perfectly. Here is the track list so far, done in chronological order so people can see what albums they came from and tell me off if I left a song behind or included one that shouldn't be there.

Pretty Hate Machine

Down In It
Head Like A Hole
Sin
Terrible Lie
Something I Can Never Have

Broken

Wish
Happiness In Slavery
Gave Up (?)
Suck

The Downward Spiral

March Of The Pigs
Closer
Hurt
Heresy
Mr. Self Destruct
Reptile
Piggy (?)
Ruiner (?)

The Perfect Drug

The Fragile

The Day The World Went Away
We're In This Together
The Fragile
The Wretched
Somewhat Damaged
The Great Below (?)
- -
Starfuckers Inc.
Into The Void
Where Is Everybody (?)
The Big Comedown

Still

And All That Could've Been

Deep (?)

With Teeth

The Hand That Feeds
All The Love In The World
Every Day Is Exactly The Same
Only (?)
Sunspots (?)
The Line Begins To Blur
Right Where It Belongs (?)

The ones with ?'s next to them are one's that I am unsure of to put on a NIN compilation with their best material. Some are due to time constraints, as this set of songs is still 7 minutes over 2hr 40min. Please, big NIN fans, help me with this, this has the potential to be a badass CD. Don't tell me to just listen to their CD's, I've already done that 103209328438423 times. Anyway, thanks :naughty:

Pantera in Chains 05-15-2005 10:07 AM

I love NIN and I like With Teeth a lot but has anyone noticed how similar the riff from The Hand That Feeds is to a certain riff from Peace sells.... with Megadeth. Anyways Trent Reznor is a ****in genius. I'd love to see NIN live.

Mr. Self Destruct
Reptile
Piggy (?) - A Warm Place is what I would put here
Ruiner (?)

The Perfect Drug

The Fragile

The Day The World Went Away
We're In This Together
The Fragile
The Frail/The Wretched
Somewhat Damaged
The Great Below (?)
- -
Starfuckers Inc. I wouldn't include this, it's a bad intro Replace with: I'm Looking Forward To Joining You, Finally OR Underneath It All
Into The Void
Where Is Everybody (?)
The Big Comedown

Still

And All That Could've Been

Deep (?)

With Teeth

Let's see here. I'll bold the ones that I think you should take off, and add suggestions. Right now it's pretty good, but I see some things that shouldn't be on there, in my opinion of course.

Six Foot Revolver 05-15-2005 11:18 AM

I bought with teeth today, I felt the songs were far more poppy but it is still really good :thumb:

MxShredder 05-15-2005 11:32 AM
NIN is incredible live, just saw them the 10th in Toronto, ****ing spectacular.

Trent landed on me when he jumped off the stage in Piggy.

Awesome setlist.
wait wait, I don't remember him ever jumping off stage? or playing piggy for that matter?

I was up front for a good portion of it, till one douche threatened to stab me and another infront of me was trying to start a fight, then i was over by the right for the rest of it. I liked how he played so much of broken, and all of the old stuff for that matter. Closer sounded pretty rushed though

Trent has a loyal fanbase, but a lot of them aren't great to go to a concert with :(

Man, that sucks. A good audience is necessary for a good concert. In Houston, every concert I've been to, the audience is awesome. THe kind where if anyone falls down or is getting hurt, everyone rushes to help. In Austin, though, there are more jackasses. A lot of it depends on the band and the location.

ah, not too many of them at this concert. Other than the threats and stuff another guy was trying to protect his girlfriend or something silly like that, so anyone who got withing a foot or two of them he flipped out on. He grabbed this one guy by the neck and started threatening him and stuff. And there were alot of losers who kept their elbows up too.

But the show itself was really good, I remember them opening with pinion, playing Something I can never have, Head like a hole, Closer, March of the pigs, Ruiner, Wish, Hurt, You know what you are(?I forget what the title is?), With Teeth, The Hand that Feeds and a few others. I don't really remember him playing anything off of The Fragile.

EDIT: I can't believe i forgot to mention the Dresdon Dolls, they were amazing, way better than I thought they'd be. The played an awesome cover of War Pigs, which is pretty great considering it's mostly just drums and piano

Kage 05-15-2005 01:44 PM

Sounds awesome. I'd love to see Ruiner live, it's my favorite song from TDS. They're coming here a week from this Tuesday, but I didn't get tickets. Hopefully I'll find some good scalped tickets.

Yeah, here are some songs I would LOVE to see live...
Ruiner
Heresy
Mr. Self Destruct
Something I Can Never Have
Wee're In This Together Now
The Day The Whole Went Away
The Becoming

I Do Not Want This

And some other ones... Doubt I ever will ge to see half of those live :/

Kage 05-15-2005 02:37 PM

Wow...those would be awesome to see.

Magicaltroll 05-15-2005 02:56 PM
Wow...those would be awesome to see.
Yes they would be :D
Also I would love to see a GOOD performance of Somewhat Damaged. The ones I've seen/heard weren't very good imo...

It came out great, it was at the same time as the knife threat though so i couldn't really focus on the music too much cause the guy kept on following me around. It was a lot more powerful too, the guitar parts came out real loud.

That is a great song. Perfect opener for TF.

Magicaltroll 05-16-2005 07:25 PM
That is a great song. Perfect opener for TF.
Yeah, it is.

I just noticed that I had the lyrics to Closer wrong all this time...
I thought it was "You can't help my observation, you can't help the hate that it brings, you cant help my absence of faith, you can't help my everything"

When its actually
"You can have my isolation, you can have the hate that
It brings
You can have my absence of faith, you can have my
Everything
Help me tear down my reason, help me its’ your sex i
Can smell
Help me you make me perfect, help me become somebody
Else"

Kage 05-16-2005 07:43 PM
I would pay an obscene amount of money to see NIN live. I'm not kidding either.
I'm not sure how much I can afford at the moment. If I was ready to shell out $200 or so, I'd already have a couple of tickets. But I'm hoping to get one from $50-$80. I'll most likely be looking for desperate scalpers.

Kage 05-16-2005 07:48 PM

I figure they'll be back in town at some point in the next year, so I'm not all that desperate. I'm going to scope out the area and see what I can come up with.

Kage 05-16-2005 07:53 PM

Heh...that sounds like fun. Trent said they're going to go back for another round in the US right after their current tour becuase of all the people that didn't get tickets. I have confidence that I can believe in that.

If not, I guess I'm screwed and should just hope there'll be a new live DVD coming out.

Kage 05-16-2005 07:56 PM

They should make it a rule that anyone who went to the first round can't go to the next tour.

Magicaltroll 05-16-2005 07:57 PM
They should make it a rule that anyone who went to the first round can't go to the next tour.
123
That would be an awesome rule...

Kage 05-16-2005 08:00 PM

But that'd be against the rules :p

Katana 05-16-2005 08:02 PM

Liking "Closer" for its immature thrills wouldn't make me a NIN fan, would it?

Kage 05-16-2005 08:03 PM

Probably not, but have you heard any of their other stuff?

BludgeonySteve 05-16-2005 08:37 PM

What's keeping this thread alive? That wasn't a very good album compared to some of their other stuff :/

Kage 05-16-2005 08:42 PM

Well, some of us like it a lot, and this has become a good NIN/community thread for the NIN fans to gather and talk. Read the thread, it's changed from about the album to general NIN and community discussion.

BludgeonySteve 05-16-2005 08:44 PM

Hmm, well i'm not going to read the thread. But that makes sense.

Magicaltroll 05-16-2005 08:53 PM
Hmm, well i'm not going to read the thread. But that makes sense.
You should, you'd learn alot of stuff about them.

misunderstood 05-16-2005 10:45 PM
They should make it a rule that anyone who went to the first round can't go to the next tour.
No way...I would be one really pissed off NIN fan if I couldn't go see them again on their next tour. The more NIN the merrier, heh. :p I understand though...I'd probably be all for this rule if I wouldn't have gotten tickets for this club tour.

The_Shredder 05-16-2005 11:02 PM
That wasn't a very good album compared to some of their other stuff :/
112% disagrees.

AIC/EAZY-E 05-17-2005 12:34 AM

It's up to par, but given the time he could've done better songs than Getting Smaller and The Collector. And more thought could've been put into Only, I am really forcing myself to like it. Otherwise, it's a rather flawless album.

BlindWriting 05-17-2005 05:13 PM

Yep. Much like what the Tool thread has turned into, a fan/community thread rather than stuff that's strictly about the music or a specific album.

Magicaltroll 05-17-2005 05:16 PM

Yeah, I was thinking about getting a mod to change the thread title to jsut "Nine Inch Nails". Think they'll do it?

BlindWriting 05-17-2005 05:19 PM

It's a good idea. Give it a go.

Magicaltroll 05-17-2005 06:39 PM

w00t! They did it.
Thanks whoever did it :)

Getting smaller is one of my favorite tracks on the album. It's very March of the Pigs.

Yeah, but to me, it seems out of place a little bit. I still like it alot, but its jsut out of place kind of.
