Simple Man 07-11-2005 11:20 PM

Win A Rabbit 07-11-2005 11:21 PM

i just got back from the city, bought dream theater live at budokan, and planes trains and automobiles. i went to wendy's and got a junior bacon cheeseburger. f'uck those patties are thin. it's like half of a mcdonalds patty. i'm hoping i can get into the live at budokan, because ive only heard 5 or so songs from dream theater, and the dvd was fairly cheap, so i got it. it was either dt or zeppelin, and zep was $40 at wal-mart, and i saw it for $20 at hmv a week or 2 ago.

speaking of all these hotdogs and such, i've been trying to watch what i eat lately, but it always fails. for instance, i went to sobey's with my friends when they went to get food for work, and i was gonna get some health (y/ier) food. i walked out with 2L of pepsi and 2 bags of bits and bites

darkevent89 07-11-2005 11:22 PM

^hah niiiice

Win A Rabbit 07-11-2005 11:24 PM

oh, and i'm addicted to nestea lemon iced tea. whenever i see it at a store, i have to buy it. i don't think i've ever walked out of a store that had iced tea, without some in my hand.

just thought i'd throw that out there.

i admit, it was good. the bacon definately made up for it, as they were closing, and gave me tons of bacon, and some on the side :thumb:

darkevent89 07-11-2005 11:25 PM

I've been trying to watch what I eat lately too. Been working out a little too. My big 1 pack is slowly starting to form into a 6 pack.

darkevent89 07-11-2005 11:52 PM

I REALLY want to get into bass guitar. I've going through that forum lately. Just don't have a bass to practice with.
I REALLY want to get into bass guitar. I've going through that forum lately. Just don't have a bass to practice with.
i played bass for a year before i played drums. i was just starting to get into the whole slap/pop thing when my friend got drums and was absolutely terrible. i was able to keep time and hold a beat, so we traded instruments. i still play his bass every once in a while and its always good fun.

it feels so good being able to play everyone's instrument better than they can

darkevent89 07-11-2005 11:59 PM
it feels so good being able to play everyone's instrument better than they can
Yeah that's how I want to feel....or something like that. I just want to try and play every instrument that I can...And maybe learn how to sing later. Haha that's one of my goals in life.

stevoibanez 07-12-2005 12:08 AM

^^ you think you get laughed at for playing drums, just wait till you pick up a bass
j/k

Futuro 07-12-2005 12:13 AM

Double Bass Jim 07-12-2005 12:17 AM

darkevent89 07-12-2005 12:20 AM

Futuro 07-12-2005 12:21 AM
Your lucky yutgas not around anymore, that guy was INSANE.
i can pull off 6 string sweeping arpeggios :p / is joking

Japan3gro 07-12-2005 12:24 AM

Double Bass Jim 07-12-2005 12:27 AM
i can pull off 6 string sweeping arpeggios :p / is joking
He could, he was a total yngwie clone though.

Seafroggys 07-12-2005 12:34 AM
Awwwwwww come on!!!
Hmmm, personally, I'd take Clint Eastwood anyday....he's just so much grittier then any other western actor, and I love my daily dose of grittiness....plus he's got the 44 magnum, which owns all!

Ill Mitch 07-12-2005 12:35 AM

I used to be in a band with a guy named Alec who goes by Aestus Sereno on these here forums. That guy was pretty damn insane, I think he learned the As I Am solo in about 2 hours.

Double Bass Jim 07-12-2005 12:36 AM

Oh yea I love eastwood, the duke is just fun to watch though. No one acted like that guy one of a kind.

Futuro 07-12-2005 12:37 AM

i can 3 and 4 string sweep, and if my hand can move fast enough (or tempo is slow) i can do 5, but 6 is dam hard. I cant pull off 2 of my fingers' fast enough and replace it on the strings above or below to do 6 string sweeps. thats why malmsteen is awsome....he just kinda rolls his left hand around on the strings.

Double Bass Jim 07-12-2005 12:38 AM

Yea his improvisation is unreal, he can just smoke right along without even thinking about it.

Der got die banned 07-12-2005 12:42 AM

I only got 4 hours sleep last night and I'm off to work now :(
