Yep, I guess they're the same then. God that is so f**king gross.
Hey have you seen War at the Warfield? I like when tom is thanking the crowd for coming (right before captor of sin) and says 'if you find a strange person in your town, YOU CAN F**KING KILL 'EM!!!!

nowitzki 08-19-2005 08:34 AM

I find it so funny how Tom says something really evil and controversial with a big grin on his face. He's always having fun up there. Like at the end of still reigning at the end he goes "See you in hell" and starts laughing.

nontie69 08-19-2005 10:28 AM

yeah man tom is just a great guy on stage. i seen Slayer twice and every time was great. there is nothing like going to a Slayer show just great :thumb: .

iliketoplaydrums10111 08-19-2005 11:05 AM

I have this line going through my head over and over again

"Angel of Death, monitor the kingdom of the dead!"

lightningmetal666 08-19-2005 11:11 AM

That's exactly what I thought tom said at first. I think it's actually "monument to the kingdom of the dead"
That's exactly what I thought tom said at first. I think it's actually "monument to the kingdom of the dead"
Actually, it's "monarch to the kingdom of the dead".

lightningmetal666 08-19-2005 11:56 AM

Oh. Oops. Shows how well I listen.
Oh. Oops. Shows how well I listen.
It's okay, I've read Dittohead lyrics so many times, and I still can barely understand the fast parts.

lightningmetal666 08-19-2005 01:48 PM

One of the lyrics that I could understand on that song was "anyone can be set free on a technicallity, explain the law again to me."

KBSD91 08-20-2005 07:47 PM

Man! My computer is pissing me off, I want to watch my War at the Warfield DVD, and Windows Media Player won't let me. It used to. I wonder what's wrong? It plays my other DVDs.

nontie69 08-20-2005 09:23 PM

maybe you cd is scratched

KBSD91 08-20-2005 09:40 PM

probably, but i'd still stick to the F-255, from what i hear, it has a more versatile tone than lesser F models and the sig. I like to play more than just metal so it'd help ya know?

KBSD91 08-21-2005 05:20 PM
Dave lombardo is AWESOME
I agree. Why do you think people call him the "Human Drumming Machine"?

lightningmetal666 08-22-2005 07:19 AM

I read in a metal magazine where he himself says that when slayer started, he set out to be the best heavy metal drummer ever.

I think he overshot his goal just slightly.

Apocalyptic Raids 08-22-2005 07:29 AM

To be honest, I was actually underwhelmed when I first heard Lombardo, since everyone praises him so much.

He still owns though.

lightningmetal666 08-22-2005 07:55 AM

Damn right he still owns. The beats he comes up with are just great. Yes it's true in metal that most drummers revolve around just hi-hats, snare, and double bass pedal, but Dave is pretty f**kin' creative with just those three elements (I.E. Criminally Insane, Angel of Death etc.) Not to mention, F**CKIN FAST with them!!!

Question, did Dave leave the band yet again? I know he rejoined for the Still Reigning DVD, but I wanted to know if he left again. God, I hope not.

Arrakakaka 08-22-2005 10:04 AM

Slayer is still one of my favorite bands. Show No Mercy was simply amazing.

He's been with them since then, the new album has him drumming on it.
I've seen them live twice with Dave on drums both times, he is a machine.
Although I have a friend who is a drummer (a very good one at that) who reckons Botsaph (sp?) was better. I have to admit some of his drumming, while maybe not as fast, was **** good, e.g Disciple.

(LOKI) 08-22-2005 10:19 AM

I would like to say to anyone who thinks that Dave isnt that a good a drummer to listen to the stuff he has done with Fantomas, probly Suspended Animation is best example.

That stuff is insane. I heard that it once took Dave about 3 hours to learn a 30 second section of a Fantomas song.

Mazeppa 08-22-2005 11:29 AM

I didn't know that Lombardo played with Fantomas.

I just recently found out that Lombardo was the drummer for Fantomas, I'm not currently intereseted in hearing what they sound like. I'm going to request that song in the YSI thread.

lightningmetal666 08-22-2005 04:09 PM

Yeah, I'll probably check it out when I get home.

KBSD91 08-22-2005 11:28 PM

Liberare Cutemet Ex Deus

Hopefully one of you guys can translate this or find the translation. On Kerry King's website, he has his logo and on the logo is the Latin words: Liberare Cutemet Ex Deus. I think it has something to do with Freedom from God or atleast something about God?

Apocalyptic Raids 08-23-2005 04:18 AM

Ah I forgot to add that. I truly appreciated Lombardo when I heard his work with Fantomas. Awesome.

lightningmetal666 08-23-2005 10:43 AM

What's the latest info on slayer? I.E. tour dates, album releases etc.

whatduffhuck7 08-23-2005 09:52 PM
i would like to know when there gonna release there upcoming album? if its anything like ghua i cant wait. i kno most slayer fans diagree with me on the statement
Seeing that I have been an intense Slayer fan since I was 15 (in good ol 1985!), I have to say I like just about nything they put out, including GHUA. However, there is NO doubt that I enjoy RIB, SOH and SITA (as well as the first 2 and the HTC EP) more than the stuff from the last 10 years. It's just get a better metal feel to it and Tom's vocals were not just always screaming monotone, but more varied yells, etc. I dunno, that's just me. Still in my top 5 metal bands ever list though.

lightningmetal666 08-23-2005 11:25 PM

Sh*t, they've been my favorite band for a while now. Metallica was always my favorite band up until like 4 years ago when I heard SOH and Haunting the Chapel. My instant thought was 'Metalli-who?'
They are seriously that good. Don't get me wrong I still love metallica, but Slayer will always beat them out.
Especially since slayer has never sold out.

I think God Hates Us All is their best album in years.

Nostalgia 08-24-2005 01:46 AM

ahh I don't like GHUA to much don't get me wrong I am a die hard slayer fan its just Toms voice kind of started going out IMO show no mercy hell awaits (even though the recording discusted me it kind of added a edge to it) south of heaven reign in blood, wiat nervermind I shouldnt say his voice started going out tis just he couldn't preform IMO like he could on hell awaits or reign in blood.

Hm, I don't think that his voice went out on GHUA, I always thought that he developed a new, higher vocal range. The only problem is that he only used that new higher vocal range and just screamed monotonously (which pretty much ruined much of the album for me). It's still good, but could have been better, IMO.

According to the SlayerSaves.com forum the new album is rumored to be released sometime in Jan 06.

lightningmetal666 08-24-2005 11:00 PM

I have an email account with slayerized.com and they are reporting it to be out sometime later this year, but said there could be a change.

lightningmetal666 08-26-2005 10:11 AM

I guess no one is posting here.

I've had my eye on a bc rich kerry king v for a while is it a good guitar or crap? I've heard convincing arguments from both sides, just wanted to know what my fellow slayer fans thought.
