Sorry to do this to you again but the australian High Voltage didn't sell all that well. It didn't even have High Voltage the song on it. Also the line-up was one that was before their classic line-up. It was Angus Young, Malcolm Young, Bon Scott, George Young(Angus and Malcolms older brother formely of the easy beats played bass on this album, he also produced it along with many other AC/DC albums), Tony Kerrante (no idea who this actually is).
go to the timeline in 75.it should come up.

rippa32 02-23-2005 05:33 AM

Well sorry about that I must have been mistaken. You certainly do you're homework.

angus88 02-23-2005 06:34 AM

if you dont like Ac/dc then you dont know what rock n roll is

Captain Jack Sparrow 02-23-2005 06:40 AM

AC/DC is a great example of what rock and roll really is. It's about catching the audience and taking them for a hell of a ride, which is exactly what they do at every single one of their concerts. Their songs may be simple, but anyone who doesn't get a kick out of Angus's guitar solos + insane dancing is just being ridiculous. They're a very entertaining band and one of my favourites.

maddog87 02-23-2005 01:48 PM

i try to. :)

Well they are an example of a part of rock and roll. This next statment will sound like I'm bashing them but I'm not I agree they are a great band, but those of us who listen to it hoping to expand our minds with new ideas won't like them as much.

SexandVoilence 02-23-2005 03:14 PM
I really don't like them.
I don't love the ****, but i still have one on my body..........Haha that made no sense at all.

maddog87 02-24-2005 06:34 AM

whats up

Marty 02-24-2005 10:15 AM

i was disappointed with the response i got with my bon scott tribute thread! where the hell were all you people?!?!

rippa32 02-25-2005 05:27 AM

Was that the 25th anninversary thread? If so it would only last a day cause thats how long the anniversary would last.

rippa32 02-25-2005 06:42 AM

Has anyone here heard the single with Dave Evans on vocals?

Bon_Scottie 02-25-2005 07:05 AM

'Can I sit next to you girl'?

He also did a second song, but I've totally forgotten the name of it. I think it was the B side track.

Anyway, back to what I posted in a different thread, I need to help;

Well, seens as for some reason I can't make a thread, I'm a huge fan of AC/DC and have been for years. I know them inside out... and for an English Test I have to do a talk about them.

I plan on talking about past and present, and also playing a video I've got for Rocker. Without a doubt, Angus young is an idol. What he does on stage is so passionate, and is unbelievable rock and roll.

Well, I was wondering if anybody knew of any videos on the Internet with Angus Youngs' greatest moments in or something? I plan on playing Rocker because he plays two awesome solo's, and also does the usual duck walk, goes into crowd on Body guards shoulders, goes on Bon Scotts shoulders, goes off stage because he needs oxygen... hits the floor and spins round playing the guitar. You know... that ole' shinanigon.

If I could find a video with tons of these great clips of him, It would be good to show me' mates.

Cheers.

angus-young 02-25-2005 07:13 AM

ive seen that rocker vid it is the bomb innit and i would also like to see some rare footage of angus young going mental as pure usual

maddog87 02-25-2005 01:57 PM

out of the countless sites i have been to, i have never come across any videos of the band. i remember only one site that had clips on it but all the links were broken.if you can, wait until family jewels comes out. ive already reserved a copy and ive heard its really good.

doyle7von7frankenstein7 02-25-2005 02:37 PM

i used to like ac/dc a lot, but in the past couple years, jc penney started carrying their t shirts and just about every little wannabe in the school "listens" to them, and becaseu of that, they dont appeal to me anymore

I feel the same. While I was at JC Penny they had Led Zeppelin shirts and The Doors shirts. It was pretty stupid.

rippa32 02-26-2005 03:29 AM

Can someone please tell me what JC Penny is? Is it some sort of clothes shop in America?

blue3 02-26-2005 03:54 AM

Yeah, they sell clothes there

rippa32 02-26-2005 03:55 AM

Ok.

AB/CD 02-27-2005 06:16 AM

no idea i wasnt in Germany or wherever they where but it said it on the megadeth website in the tour journals was probably an allright cover tho

Bon_Scottie 02-27-2005 06:50 AM

Yeah, Megadeth do a lot of covers whilst on tour. I've heard a cover of "Rock 'n' Roll" by Zeppelin from them.

Just went out and bought a few more remastered CD's/a Let there be Rock T-Shirt. I'll wear it whilst gigging.
acdc is way over rated...so is angus young
yep

LiquidTensionTheatre 02-27-2005 04:10 PM

AC/\/DC are truly excellent, ok a few of their songs have similar sounds but with a band that old thats bound to happen, probably due to their style of writing music. Angus and Malcom are solid guitarists, with flair both in their writing, technique and on the stage. There have been a fair few bassists for them, each with slightly differing styles but fundamentally they play the root notes and keep everything held down. Phil Rudd (and AC/DC's other drummers, but primarily Rudd) IMO, is key to their sound... can you imagine portnoy rattling off the 32nd note polyrhymths over his 500-voice kit to a nice, steady bluesy/rock'n'rolly band like ACDC? It just wouldn't be practical. The drum parts are well written and complement the music. Not that I don't like Portnoy, he's one of my favourite drummers at the moment, easily in the top 5 progressive drummers in the world. Flaming ACDC on the basis that they're too simplistic is pointless - they easily have the talents to be a virtuoso, OTT progressive band, but they aren't. They do what they enjoy and they do it **** well. Sorry this went on a bit...

Oh yeah, and to not like ACDC, or any band, or anything for that matter, on the basis that it's overrated is really, really stupid. The fact that people overrate them doesn't actually change how well they play, or what they play etc.

Just a thought

rippa32 02-28-2005 04:45 AM

Thank you. I am so sick of people who stop liking their favourite bands just because other people like it too. I have found it so hard to find someone with my taste in music, Theres like 3 in the whole school. I wish I had more people to talk to about music.

Bon_Scottie 02-28-2005 04:50 AM

Too true.

Nobody around me had actually heard of AC/DC until I showed them the LIGHT. My Dad showed my a tape when I was real young, and a few years back I got really into them. Since then, I've shown a few of mates, one of which who used to be ghetto gangster who listens to rap, and I've got a few people into them.

By the way, I agree about the drumming. The whole band is very simple, but thats what makes it Rock 'n' Roll. Angus adds the flair by kicking out a few solo's. Angus Young is very under-rated if you ask me...

rippa32 02-28-2005 05:31 AM

Nobody had heard of AC/DC? Whats wrong with these people? Everyone has at least heard the name and know OF them.

maddog87 02-28-2005 02:32 PM

acdc has always been popular where im from.my dad got me into acdc when i was about 4. i remember singing the chorus to back in black when i was little. i have always listened to them, but whithin the past two years i really started learning about them.

rippa32 03-01-2005 05:04 AM

My dad was never into them. But he did get me into the Beatles. I got into AC/DC because I seemed to like the rock/metal thing after buying Metallica's And Justice for All album. Then I got AC/DC live that changed my life. Of course I had heard AC/DC songs before (Thunderstruck, Dirty Deeds) but I hadnt heard ther best (For Those About to Rock, Back In Black (yes I hadnt heard Back in Black) and all others. Now I have 8 albums with more to definatly come.
