If this is still open when I get hom, I'll give Fort(e) a go, they've played up here that many times and I haven't seen them yet...

Okay, the only song I ever heard from these guys was TNT (from my THPS addicted times)
AC/DC - Big Balls This is good song, especially if you want to laugh a bit. It starts with a riff ascending and descending, and at the same time, one very simple lick to link the chords by one of the Youngs. And the voice enters, it's pretty amusing, (here starts the laughing part) he plays with that riff a bit, while singing. And it starts (the "chorus" if you can call that) and i got one thing to say: "I've got big balls!" That's pretty much what he says in the whole music... The lyrics go all around his big balls, and after this short chorus, the music just repeats itself with no interest at all..... And here was i, thinking i would hear some old-hard-rock solo, and.... Poof, disappointed... But the song has proved it's value in the issue of amusement. What did I think? Well, it's not a song/music that you can be addicted the whole day through, but I heard it a couple of times and although it's not very musically compelling, it has it's fun! Would I listen more? Well, AC/DC are not one of my favourite bands, but, even still i'd hear some... but just because I was impressed with TNT, not with this song, this is sooo.... different, i think. But I would hear... sometime, with more patience. Rating: It is not bad at all, even if repetitive... T_T so, here it goes: 6,5/10 AC/DC fans... you can flame me. --- Suggestions: Dream Theater - Home/Blind Faith (Progressive Metal) Liquid Tension Experiment - Biaxident/When The Water Breaks (Instrumental Rock) The Black Mages - Force Your Way (Instrumental Hard Rock arrangements for former Videogame Soundtracks) Porcupine Tree - Blackest Eyes (Progressive/Experimental Rock) Guess that's good... those are the musics I'm the most curious to hear a review about. Good reviews, people. |

sorry it took me so long I'll post my review in a bit now :) |
strats off with amazing piano
at 0:20 guitar and drums kick in, didn't expect that. at 0:45 a great fusion between guitar and piano, sounds awesome. bass really gives more atmosphere to it all. 1:47 a metal par begins now, guitar takes over now. 2:05 something solo like gets started. amazing piano comes in again at 3:00 *I love it!* 3:20, guitar takes over. I still here some keys in the background ( I think), but its syntheziser. 3:40 the music gets rahter jazzy, cool :) and low sounding piano is back in this part. 3:55 some solo, sounds bluessy/jazzy like, but I like it. I really like the bass supporting thhe solo in this part. 4:15, keys again, sounds funny. great bass again supporting the piano. 4:45 the jazzy part ends, and it flows into something that;s more dream theater style 5:30 wow this is really dreamy music, love it. 5:48 synths come in again. 6:15 petrucci does what he's best at, great solo. after the solo part, a nice bridge towards the end. what can I say I'm amazed opinion: at first I thought were is the singing, but it's instrumental :p great bass lines and great that Jordan Rudess played some more, he's good so he deserves to play al lot would I check out more: I will allright! ====== songs: symphony X : the accolade II (prog metal) Bloodhound gang: one point three four ( fun rock) Meshuggah: sickening (technical death metal) Opeth: the apostle in triumph ( prog death metal) (great accoustic intro riff ;) ) american head charge - just so you know ( good not total nu-metal) young heart attack - misty rowe (good ol'rock 'n roll revival) porcupine tree - how is your life today (prog rock) nine inch nails - head like a hole (industrial) in flames - jotun (gotenburg metal) dream theater - wait for sleep ( prog metal) |

Ah, back in the forced listening loop!
Opeth - The Apostle in Triumph Starts off with a nice acoustic strumming intro, along with a acoustic solo that sounds alot like a chapman stick for some reason. At about 1:30 there is a new acoustic riff going on, it's very melodic with some jazzy drums going on in the background. At 2:00 the electric guitars come in playing the same melodic lick from 1:30. Sounds awesome here. The song progresses along keeping the same melodic feel. At about 3:00 the song goes back to clean, along with bass and drums. A slow little solo shows up (sounds like a harmonic minor scale.) At about 3:45 the song finally picks up and i hear some long needed vocals, along the expecting melody from Opeth and some decent kick drum action. At about 5:12 the music slows down a bit, staying melodic before picking up again at 5:43 with some nice kick drum action again. At about 6:07 the song takes a turn for the obscure, i enjoy this along with some extreme growling from Akerfeldt. At about 7:26 this song gets extremely cool, it sounds like the guitars have a fade in effect on, and they are playing it extremely fast, along with some kickin bass lines and acoustic strumming. At about 8:30 the song gets back to electric guitar melody mode, along with some killer clean vocals (I wish i could sing like this.) The singing eventually turns into growling, good stuff. At about 9:35 there is a nice guitar solo making for some killer harmonies. At about 10:20 we finally here some guitar chords played with distortion, still slow, along with some awesome growling before returning to a nice solo, nothing fast but fits well. About 12:20 the acoustic guitar comes back in, accompanied by clean vocals, the song ends on this. This song gets a 10/10 i loved it, awesome guitar work, great vocals both clean and screamed. Great stuff. Is all of Opeth's stuff like this? I've heard Masters Apprentice and it wasn't even close to like this. On that note, what is Opeth's best album? Would i check out more? I plan to. Song suggestions... Persuader - The Hunter (Power Metal) Arcturus - Radical Cut (Symphonic black metal) Death - Spirit Crusher (Progressive Death metal) My Dying Bride - The cry of Mankind (Doom Metal) Borknagar - The Winterway (Epic Metal) |

Death - Spirit Crusher
Only thing I've heard from Death is Voice of the Soul(which rocked), so I've got high hopes. I've also heard that they the band that started death metal so mucho respect. Starts with just bass and drums. After a short while the guitars and vocals come in, the guy is sort of screaming, and its pretty good. Guitars are playing a nice riff with a few pinch harmonics here and there. Drums go over to double bass which is cool. Song changes pace, its a bit slower now, this is the chorus I think. SPIRIT.... CRUSHER. I like this. After a short while we go over to the re-intro, and then solo guitars, very good part here, fast and melodic. Solo enters, its fast, very fast, nice harmony here. Then harmonizing guitars enter, before the solo takes off again and fades out. Here comes a heavy riff, nice and headbangable. Drums pick it up a notch here, with some double bass. The whole song goes fast for a few seconds, then it slows again to the chorus. I'm especially liking the drums here and also the vocals. SPIRIT... CRUSHER. Haha, I love that. Afterwards comes the "disharmonic" riff as I like to call it, then we get some fairly melodic guitar riffing and some cool drum fills. Song ends with a pinch harmonic. Sorry for not mentioning something about bass, but all it does is follow the guitars, except for the intro and re-intro. 7/10 I liked it, the solo was great and chorus good. Time for some norwegian metal. And its not Black:amaze: Sirenia - Meridian(Death/Goth Metal) Sirenia - Lethargica(Death/Goth Metal) Susperia - Chemistry(Melodic Metal) Griffin - Praise the Rain(Heavy Metal) Lumsk - I trollhender(Folk Metal) |

Lumsk - I trollhender
starts off with a nice riff. could be doom metal. 0:22 vocals come in, and...... it's a woman!!!!!! wow, didn’t expect that! vocals remind me of within temptation, I don't like them. and what language is she singing? Norwegian or Swedish maybe> I have no clue. 0:45 this is better! strings come in. and no more singing, is it strings or keyboard actually? or both? 1:08 the vocalist comes in again, and IMO ruins it. 1:30 again the strings part (love it) 2:33 a heavier riff, it's good. 1:54 just strings now, nothing else, great! 2:05 the rest of the band kicks in again (except the vocals) 2:40 amazing strings again, wow :) then it fades out. opinion: -great song, I love the string parts. -maybe a bit to repetitive though. - iuew, sorry, but I despise the vocals, can't stand them. - nice doomy folky sound 6/10 would I check out more? if they have some instrumentals, I will :p symphony X : the accolade II (prog metal) Bloodhound gang: one point three four ( fun rock) Meshuggah: sickening (technical death metal) porcupine tree - shesmovedon american head charge - just so you know ( good not total nu-metal) young heart attack - misty rowe (good ol'rock 'n roll revival) porcupine tree - how is your life today (prog rock) nine inch nails - head like a hole (industrial) in flames - jotun (gotenburg metal) dream theater - wait for sleep ( prog metal) George Baker selection - green bag (rock 'roll) :) |
