Off topic - I found out that my friends mum apparently dated Bono before U2 were famous. She had photos of them on dates and everything.

One my my mums mates, boyfirends mates, or something, used to be in bowling for soup

But they got robbed or something, and he ended up flying home.
I used to like U2, until i released how much a twat bono is.
He is a fair twat, but he has good intentions. He's trying to help people...
But he doesn't have to be such a twat about it. :p

I'm pretty sure everyone in here agrees with me when I say:
Green Day were so much cooler when the were 'punk'. (Around the Dookie era, when they just didn't give a **** about anything, especially politics.)

chumpradio 11-19-2006 07:25 AM

Most of the time, "punk" involves caring about politics...

Oz Rembrandt 11-19-2006 02:59 PM

I hate U2 because they're boring to listen to. Bono being a grade A cunt is second to that.

I agree, punk is very influenced by Politics. I prefer the social side of such punk bands though, about the stupidity of the human race as a whole, not about the government...

I agree entirely, but more to the point...

I didn't know what the lyrics were about till I was 11, and come to think that I used to play that song in the car with my mum

I think a lot of teenage boys masturbate when they are bored, legand has it, that makes you blind

Ross 11-28-2006 06:59 PM

Yup, so the story goes. I had a girlfriend for most of my teens, so masturbation was never an issue till we broke up, and then...

Well, I have glasses now, although I never wear them.
I think a lot of teenage boys masturbate when they are bored, legand has it, that makes you blind
It's just a myth I think.

Though I have glasses and my eyesight just gets worse and worse

Oz Rembrandt 11-29-2006 04:05 PM

I've worn glasses since I was like 6

Neoteric 11-29-2006 04:09 PM

Oz Rembrandt 11-29-2006 04:15 PM

1039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours has a fair few (amazing) tracks.
1039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours has a fair few (amazing) tracks.
Ah, that's what it was. My friend played me that album and it was total hxc.

Oz Rembrandt 11-29-2006 06:30 PM

Its my fav Green Day album, followed by Nimrod, then Insomniac.

Ross 12-03-2006 01:36 PM

Insomniac is my numero uno.

Stuart and the Ave. <3

That album is so underrated, but is easily my favourite. 100% bumsexable.

What happened to Green Day? They used to be innovative. Now they just preach to the kiddies.

georgezepeda 11-15-2007 07:38 PM

You guys should check out The Spill Canvas. They are totally kick *** and they have a new album out called "No Really, I'm Fine." If you like The Academy Is or The Starting Line then I'm sure you'll dig on these guys. Check out their "All Over You" video at www.myspace.com/tsc
What happened to Green Day? They used to be innovative. Now they just preach to the kiddies.
Green Day were never really innovative. They were just another pop-punk band.

All Green Day fans aren't "kiddies", and they don't preach. They're just creating awareness of issues.

Urbreathsmells 11-19-2007 12:53 PM

Green Day is one of my favorite bands. They got me into the whole pop punk music. Nimrod is my favorite album by far. One thing I like about them is none of the albums sound the same like the previous one before. They always change it up somehow.

poo-poo-pee-pee 11-20-2007 09:49 PM

Green Day bore me now-a-days.
I think it's coz there are so many bands out there that were influenced by them, and sound just like them, that I'm getting sick of the sound.
It's the curse of making good music, eventually everyone will copy what you're doing, and you'll sound just like everyone else.
Plus, after you've been around for as long as Green Day have, it's hard to make music that doesn't sound similar to everything you've already done before, and most things end up as a rehashed version of your previous work.
Early Green Day is still fun to listen to from time to time, but the new stuff, though they have good intentions, doesn't interest me quite the same.
Jesus Of Suburbia is still sick though.

Man, that was a lot of words saying very little.

Erratic 12-20-2007 05:52 PM

I saw part of the Underclass Hero video by Sum 41 on TV and thought it was Green Day for a minute. The lead singer had the right outfit and everything.
