Trivium 10-02-2005 03:52 PM
I think trivium are a cool band to listen to for awile but then they start getting boring, i guess you could say I like them in small doses.
yeah I go through phases with them, I was completely obsessed for like a month when I made this name.

But recently ive been listening to a lot of classic metallica and bodom.

actually im surprised its not at all a big deal. nobody that i've mentioned it to knows who they are. my school is full of preppy kids who listen to pop gayness.

edit: plus they graduated like 4 years ago

FreddieVanHalen 10-02-2005 03:59 PM

do you know them personaly

drewhet 10-02-2005 04:02 PM
do you know them personaly
nah, i was in 8th grade in middle school and i think they were seniors when i saw them at battle of the bands, i never met any of them.

FreddieVanHalen 10-02-2005 04:08 PM

this local band radio here in miami supposedly got signed to atlantic but they weren't special at the time. then i saw them at this years battle of the bands at my school and they were more proffesional and played their instruments better.

is that the samw thing wtith trivum (not the atlantic part though)

FreddieVanHalen 10-02-2005 04:11 PM

i used to jam with the singer/guitarist in 8th grade and he picked up some of my technique and got better than me

i dont think so, i dont think they were signed to anything when they played, but theye were prtty proffesional.

after i saw them, i hadnt heard anything at all about them till about 2 years later, when i started listening to metal, my friend showed me a band, trivium, and i was like "those kids went to our school didnt they?" and hes like yah. and i found out they were signed to a record company with an album out, later to release another

FreddieVanHalen 10-02-2005 04:31 PM

drewhet 10-02-2005 04:40 PM
have you gone to a show since
FreddieVanHalen 10-02-2005 04:48 PM

drewhet 10-02-2005 04:49 PM

FreddieVanHalen 10-02-2005 04:51 PM

drewhet 10-02-2005 05:06 PM

FreddieVanHalen 10-02-2005 05:09 PM

i just went from classic rock to metal and trivium blew me away. but i still listen to zeppelin

Trivium 10-04-2005 01:20 PM
i just went from classic rock to metal and trivium blew me away. but i still listen to zeppelin
thats a big switch

I did classic rock>metallica for 5 years>Trivium

metallica got old, and listening to band heavily influenced by them was really cool

Scuba_Steve 10-04-2005 03:14 PM

I ordered Ember to the Inferno from interpunk two thursdays ago, and it's still not here....

Discuss what I'm missing out on

mr black 10-05-2005 07:44 AM

I would love to see these guys live, does anyone have the faintest clue of when they will find their way to Australia ?

Also im watching Ember to inferno live, and whoa could Matt wear his guitar any higher !, in all the other clips i've got he has it between his legs, in this (obviously very early in the career) He has it at chest height.

big80smullet 10-05-2005 08:13 AM

HOLY FUCKING SHIT, all I can say is that. Holy shit

"""We are pretty much sick of people labeling us a "metalcore" band, because..we dont like metalcore. We dont do breakdowns and anything like that, and we just want to be a metalband. So the next record is definitely breaking away from the metalcore thing. With the next record you'll have a hard time relating the music to metalcore. Its going to have more technical guitarplaying. We're listening to a lot of Dream Theater and stuff like that, we're trying to put the guitarplaying on a higher level and create a more epic kind of sound. Some songs will be typically Trivium, heavy rocking groove stuff, but some will be more on the technical, progressive side. It will still be easy for someone to listen to because of the melody. Another idea was changing the vocal style. Less of the brutal, screaming metalcore thing. More of a sort of James Hetfield-esque thing like on ...And Justice For All. We have some ideas we want to add to the new record instead of coming out with "Ascendency 2". It really has to be something on its own."""

corey on the new record

oh my god, this is going to be so amazing

metallica fan 10-06-2005 03:53 PM

I love ...And Justice For All, so if this new album is anything like it, then it should kick ***.

mr black 10-07-2005 02:23 AM

God... haha they better deliver their talking this album up something terrible, although from what we've seen so early in a career could anyone doubt them.
