I love those shades.
Hell yea!, Are you a biker, I just think you would luck pretty **** cool on a Harley???
Haha, well I am a chopper fan, and I'm working on getting set up to build one this summer, but I've never actually ridden a motorcycle. |

I don't think this forum can handle a community thread.

What? EDIT: Oh, I think I see what you mean. |
'Sup with the new thread?
|
EDIT: Might be getting closed.
What? EDIT: Oh, I think I see what you mean.
Yeah. 700 posts in one night, the majority of it chat room material. |
Ah. I get it.
EDIT: Might be getting closed.
Yeah. 700 posts in one night, the majority of it chat room material.
Ah, good, I have foresight. Perhaps you should make an announcement stating what is considered appropriate off-topic posting and what is considered "chat room material." Maybe that would steer things in the right direction? |
It should just be common sense, though. We shouldn't need a special announcement to tell people what is spam and what isn't.

Not everyone that posts here has as high of an intellect as you, though, Mr. Philosopher :) Umm... I have to avoid spam in this post. My diversity prof made a peculiar statement in his lecture today.
Change is psychological loss.
He didn't exactly clarify, though. Any suggestions as to what he meant? EDIT @ Bobo's post below mine: I was very hesitant to compare this to the Guitar comm. thread, but it is slowly starting to turn into it :-\ I don't even post there, but I read it from time-to-time... it's pretty bad that they get to 100K+ in such short amounts of time. I admit to not being particularly constructive in the last comm thread towards the end, so don't think I'm trying to act like I'm a saint, because I am far from being one. |
EDIT: Might be getting closed.
Yeah. 700 posts in one night, the majority of it chat room material.
Werd yo, shut it down if it is just going to be a chat room... This is about as bad as the people in the guitar forum now... |
Werd yo, shut it down if it is just going to be a chat room...

Yeah, 28 pages in a day, man...

Page after page of one- and two-word posts and responses, with only a small percentage of it all carrying any meaning, is stupid though. Especially since it can be confined to a chatroom, which we kind of have set as "mxrockandmetal", don't we? I'm not sure, since I haven't been in one for ages. /mangled paragraph |
Anyway, last week here in California, I'm going to make the best out of it.

I usually try to talk about something, or at least I hope I do. It's always hard to gauge what the opinion of me is in the eyes of other members. :-/ But I remember three months into my membership, this thread had maybe 3-4,000 posts. I hate to say it, but after the Ultimate Metal Ban comp--and correct me if I'm wrong--when I (and I'm not trying to take credit for it or assign blame, I'm just saying), zepfan, etc., started posting in here, it started attracting a lot of other people and the post count just exploded in a ridiculous way. Rep and the consequent whoring for postcount and points had a lot to do with it too. |
Wow...28 pages in around a day, you guys are uh...good.
Bartender: I downloaded one of those comedian's songs, (can't remember his name, sorry :() It's called, "Drugs have done good things" it's great! |
I don't even get what the hell spam is. That's how much I suck at the internet.
|
You're generally okay
Yeah, but my goal is to get rid of that middle word :) Well, I do remember when rep was still around and how much whoring went on there... that's where I was at fault, mostly. I would get a ridiculous rep message and post it, without saying anything else besides , probably. Now that rep has basically been vanquished (well, it's still there, but I don't foresee anyone getting star status in the near future, to be honest), that disappeared, but then, like Bartender said, the one or two word posts can be rather ambiguous. Again, I sometimes fall victim of doing that, so I guess it's the pot calling the kettle black again... but oh well.
Change is psychological loss.
Uh, any ideas? |
These kind of posts in the Pit really pissed me off:
Uh...

WTF?

...

yeah.
So little substance. |
Change is a psychological loss.
Hmmm.... puberty? That's a change, and leads to the loss of childhood innocence. |

Remind me to upload some in the uploading thread when I'm back at Uni. Anyway, I'll leave the thread open for now. If it doesn't improve (quickly) though, I'll just have to close it (with a link to AIM :)). EDIT: It's not just the spam, and the <10-word posts, though. It's also that people seem to come here (to R&M) more or less for the sole purpose of posting in this thread, and chatting with everyone else. |
Bill Hicks was a smart guy, not just a funny guy.

First time I heard it I was laughing really loud, he sounds like a really inventive artist. And yeah, I will remind you, but in the meantime any songs by him that I'd enjoy, on the basis that I enjoyed this one? |

Or is it just him talking, doing stand-up, with occasional guitar drifting in and out. If so, you might have some from one of his post-death releases. If not, then I don't know what you have :-/ |
