Christina Aguilera? Haha.. seems like an awesome setlist anyway.
|
I could have sworn they played Civil War at Download. Eh, I can't remember that far back.

i remember reading an article saying that gnr fans were demanding civil war and don't cry to be played
|
I want to hear Madagascar from CD...but I'm very interested in hearing any new stuff, really.
|
Don't Cry is probably my favourite off the UYI albums.
|
It's cause you're emo, isn't it. Great song though.
|
I am not emo omg
:'( |
They only played one new song last night in sheffield, that's pretty disapointing. I'd be well annoyed if they didn't play Better when I see them. The good news is though, that Izzy turned up! That probably means he'll be there for the entire UK tour.
|
Oh no, I'm not bothered about hearing un-leaked tracks, I just would like to see a few of the one's I've already heard. The main ones would be Better, The Blues and Madagascar.
|
it would be interesting for gnr to play the last creative grasp before falling part which was sympathy for the devil,
|
Eww, I always thought that cover was pretty lame. A couple of cool solo's from Slash, but otherwise really quite annoying.
Edit: I've been hearing all is not well in the GNR camp. Apparantly there is serious friction between ron and the other band members, people on the GNR boards were saying that he was really drunk at the sheffield show. And I have heard that Axl walked off stage during Nightrain tonight, and although came back on to finish the song, didn't do an encore or Paradise city. |
Yep, this is true, they were an hour and a bastard half late coming onstage, and got booed for alot of the time.
Apparently the Nighttrain walkoff was co-ordinated, as Josh spoke to a security guy and they knew it was going to happen. Okay...Well apart from the various problems, the show was pretty great, The AFD stuff was excellent, Patience and November rain, also were personal highlights. Unfortunately, the whole thing was offset by the obvious problems these guys are having, they were very late, and there was no Paradise city, which I got annoyed about. November rain was superb though, played by Axl in a pair of Elton John glasses:D so were Brownstone and Nightrain, when they actually played it, Axl said it was "because of some person throwing stuff at the band" that they went off... at which everyone sighed in exasperation and told Axl to grow up. Axl himself was on top form, and so were the band, but there was no need for the stupid, frequent not very good and boring solos, each guitarist took at least one lengthy solo, while the crowd shuffled their feet (we had been standing for over seven hours by that point.) and In my case went for a drink, and to stick my head under the tap. When they played songs, they were excellent. When they didn't, it was boring. Sebastian Bach was brilliant as the first support, but Bullet for my wankstain were absolutely awful, as was heartily expected, and the horrible twelve year olds in their shirts were annoying. But at least we got to make Welsh jokes. Someone had a huge inflatable sheep, which says alot that it was probably the highlight of the night. All in all, brilliant in parts, frustrating and boring in others and offset by personal problems...sounds like a microcosm of Guns' career, right? |
I wish they would cut down the solo's, it's so uneccesary. Especially when they could use the time spent soloing to throw in a couple more tracks from Use Your Illusions or something. Don't Damn Me and Civil War would go down much better with audiences, than the time spent on solo's. They look great from all the internet clips of their shows, but I don't have to endure the horrible gaps in-between songs online.
Did Izzy show up again? |
Yeah, he did.
Came on and played a couple of songs, which was nice. Some thing where Axl used Maracas or somesuch and You could be mine, which was excellent. He was wearing a shirt and stuff, which was odd...looked a little like that guy out of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Speaking of which, Bumblefoot looks Like Johnny Depp. |
Yeah, when they actually turned up, they were excellent.
And Seba was really great, It took me a couple of minutes to realise they weren't bullet for my vagina after all. The Dimebag-lookalike guitarist threw me off. When I realised though... First thought: Hang on, these guys rule, it can't be Bullet. Second Thought: Hang on, that's Sebastian Bach!! Third thought:  |
And Testament, I believe.
|
I can't wait to see Bach's band now :D Everyone is giving them such positive reviews.
|
Yeah, plus that guy can really sing:)
|
Hmm so they weren't having technical problems at all?
What was with Ron Thal aswell? He looked miserable the whole time and didn't come on at the end to take a bow with the rest of the band. Bfmv were absolutely terrible, they had like a minute long pause between each song with just silence or some shuffling around yet all the emo's were still swaying, cheering and screaming that they loved them, and the girls weren't much better either. No one booed GnR at the show I went to and they played Paradise City. Everyone who had seats (me) stood for the whole thing too which I've never seen before. People in seats usually just sit quietly. |
Well, they only booed because they were 90 minutes late onstage and we had to stand the whole damn time.
|
Yeah, especially in the heat yesterday, that must have been pretty draining.
|
Yeah they were late in Sheffield as well.
Sebastian Bach was an hour late, which made BFMV an hour late and then Axl's known for turning up late and going on stage even later so that was another half an hour. They came on at 10 and it was supposed to be 8:30. Why did they keep going off stage if there were no technical problems? |
They went off once, halfway through nightrain.
Someone throwing stuff at them, apparently. |
A £1 coin was what I heard it was, but that might be completely false.
|
Might have just been a bribe for them to play Civil War. I wanted them to play Estranged aswell.
|
They went off for a coin being thrown? It sounds false.
Unless you Brit's have coins the size of fists, or something. |
u lucky sons of bitches. i wish i could go see them. but no canadian dates are schedualed
