my fav rage songs atm-
Know your enemy!!!!!!1 (best riff in the world!!!!)
Down Rodeo (nice rage song, some nice guitar work)
Township Rebellion (i dont know why, but this song really appeals to me)
Vietnow (great agression throughout the song)
Freedom (nice riffage)
Take The Power Back (loving the bass riff and the guitar solo)

Maxen 02-22-2005 07:37 AM

I'm still learnin' how to play Township Rebellion on drums, it's a little confusing at first.

Maxen 02-22-2005 07:38 AM

Though my favourite at the moment is How I Could Just Kill A Man

Umph!

I would imagine so. That verse sounds a bit tricky at times, with all that cowbell action going on. Good luck with it though.

Inside Out was pretty good too, I bought No Spiritual Surrender. If youre into hardcore/punk check them out Zach's old straight-edge hardcore band.
As for RATM being considered rap-rock, everyone who listens to rap at my school hates RATM and most people who listen to rock don't like them either because they hate the singer...I like them their very unique.
I don't understand why Zach/Tom are into Marxism/Communism/Anarchy and are on a major-label, do you think RATM would have been a better band without a major-label on their back? I do think so, but then again, this band was pretty big and I don't know what independent label they would've went on.

Which song was in the end of the Matrix, I haven't seen the Matrix in a while so I don't remember.

People at your school suck. You should tell them that without RATM, nu-metal probably wouldnt be what it is today. They need to expand their horizons, anyways.

Radionic 02-22-2005 11:24 AM

My god, Rage are just about the best band in history!

Why did Rage not release songs like; Darkness, Clear the Lane, Autologic...?

These songs are excellent and contain some of the few amazing shred type solos Tom performs.

I think they were on the "Live & Rare" album but I'm not sure... Anyone know?

Anyways people need to start talkin in this o'l RATM Thread... :chug:

Darkness 04-05-2005 04:35 PM

Nice thread revivige... And those songs were on there demo tape. And Darkness was on the Crow soundtrack.

DuncMaster 04-05-2005 04:42 PM

Well someone had to revive it!! Neways why isnt this thread official? 26 pages long...

It didn't need to be revived becuase no one was posting about RATM.
There aren't going to be any more official threads made, or threads made official either.

DuncMaster 04-05-2005 04:46 PM

maybe people will post now that they can see there is a Rage thread...

Maxen 04-05-2005 07:49 PM

He revived a thread.

WOW!

Who cares, get on with your life, jesus.

powerofsuggestion 04-06-2005 01:30 PM

self titled wins hands down

roadiex 04-07-2005 04:09 AM

Anyone think that the solo on Township Rebellion sounds like an old nintendo game?

paco999 04-07-2005 06:32 PM

I like the solo in Killing In the Name better.

Magicaltroll 04-07-2005 06:41 PM

Born Of A Broken Man is a great great song.
I like the guitar, its cool.

I only have self titled, BOLA, and Evil Empire

GenuineImitation 04-07-2005 06:47 PM

Yeah I love that cd, the only one that beats it for me is Live at the Olympic Grand. Know Your Enemy is just awsome.

Know Your Enemy seems to be the favorite around here. It is an awesome song, I must say. My favorite RATM song though is Freedom. No other band has a song that can end concerts with such energy. No one. Period.

Darkness 04-07-2005 07:33 PM

^ I donno.. Lateralus by Tool is pretty good for that..

Thor 04-07-2005 08:57 PM
^ I donno.. Lateralus by Tool is pretty good for that..
If you ask me, it didnt have as much energy as Freedom did. Plus RATM is my favorite band so that doesnt help either. :D

I love RATM's energy. The only rock band that has that much political energy done so well is MC5, hence the cover of Kick Out The Jams.

If you ask me, RATM kicked MC5's *** in terms of being a better band, and MC5 is awesome.

Hmmmmmm thats a hard one to say. I wouldn't go as far as saying they kicked their ass. They are two different bands really, but with the same energy, MC5 was always more of a punkish rock band and RATM is more of a rapish rock band (or rockish rap band, depending on the song).

emericanapulse 04-07-2005 10:28 PM

I actually enjoyed Renegades and self-titled...

pigonthewing82 04-07-2005 10:32 PM

I think their best work is on the Live at the Olymic Grand. Not just because of the good track list, but because well they were awsome live, if you listen to RATM I don't think I need to explain.

RetiredAt21 04-07-2005 10:41 PM

Live at the Olympic Grand Auditorium was amazing. I too think it was their best.
