yeah I rekon no reason is probably the best song on chuck, n it should definitely be their next single
I can't disagree with you on the single part.

you need an avatar dude.

metal_milita 02-18-2005 12:26 AM

O man, withouth the search feature I lost this thread. Good to be back.

Anyways, anyone going to see the Sum41 performances on TV? I'm not really a big fan of T.V so I'm just gonna wait till one of you guys link it.

Anywyas, IYO (in your opinion), wuts Sum41's more underrated song? It wasn't made a single/it wasn't made a big fuss about. I would say something like Grab the Devil by the Horns and fuk him up the ***. Its like a short rock/metal anthem that has the likes to match PFP.

rohbit 02-18-2005 04:43 AM

Strangely enough, while I love all the solos that Dave does, my favourite songs are still, "makes no difference", and "Fat Lip"...
Must be a nostalgic thing.

What are good songs off DTLI?
I got sick of the Hell song, so don't bother mentioning it :P.
I liked still waiting (not as much as the aformentioned songs), but don't listen to it anymore.

I still need to listen to CHUCK though... i especially liked the heavy part of we're all to blame until the softer part came in.

Oh, and I HIGHLY doubt that Sum 41 was influenced by Linkin Park (reference to an earlier post in this thread).
I find it hard to believe that ANYONE would be influenced by Linkin Park.

I did watch them on tv alot, but now they just keep on playing Pieces and it's nothing new so I don't tune in anymore.

Hmm.....most underrated song.....I would have to say Thanks For Nothing. That song is the s**t man. But it was never made a single and it doesn't have a music video and the only thing it does have is a String Quartet Tribute to it, which is extremely cool but not enough.

Makes No Difference and Fat Lip are amazing. My band covered Makes No Difference at my church camp last year. It was amazing and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Good songs off of DTLI? are Over My Head (Better Off Dead), Thanks For Nothing, Hyper-Insomnia-Para-Condrioid, and All Messed Up.

I doubt that they got influence from Linkin Park too, but they do have a song that sounds like them. But why do you not think that Linkin Park can influence anyone?

Agent_Orange 02-18-2005 09:53 AM

I hate Linkin Park. I love all the songs on DTLI. But my fav would have to be The Hell Song.

Sever Child 02-18-2005 10:56 AM

lolololol

electro_dreem 02-18-2005 01:45 PM

chuck has to be their best effort to date. the last album was too bland

I love Linkin Park, the new cd Collision Course is absolutely uncalled for and totally gay, but other than that I really like them alot.

My brother and I can play The Hell Song. He can do the solo, it's fun.

I disagree, Chuck is good but it isn't any greater than any of their other stuff (which is all GREAT) and it is impossible to think that DTLI? is bland

TheBassicBassist 02-18-2005 03:50 PM
i don't see how the last album was bland. can you explain?
agreed, I can't figure it out either
nah...i think DTLI was better.but chuck is definatly a good album anyway
They are both really good, but I can't say that I like either more than the other

oVeRmYhEaD 02-18-2005 04:00 PM

Chuck is my favourite album by them so far... I'm glad my g/f got it for me for my b-day in november

I find them very very boring. I think I liked two songs of theirs out of all the singles they've released.

They're loved by many, so maybe there's something I'm missing.

btw, brown sound doing the Master of Puppets solo, increased my respect level for him by about a 100x, and it was pretty high to begin with :P.

I like Linkin Park alot. If you've only heard the singles then...yeah...you're definately missing alot.

I have much respect for Baksh already, but I don't like Metallica and I don't wanna get into an argument about it either

I would also have to agree, DTLI? did horrible where I live, I'm pretty much the only person here that absolutely LOVES it other than my brother who only loves it because I listen to it so much

TheBassicBassist 02-19-2005 11:31 PM
Hooch is great.
this is true, especially the slow part at the end

true.mr amsterdam is really one of their best song.

the whole DTLI album is really good.definitly my favorite.

metal_milita 02-20-2005 12:20 AM

I see that it was just mentioned, but is it just me or is the solo in Hooch pretty **** good?
IMO, the best songs of Sum41 (and my favorite songs of the entire punk->rock genre, excluding metal)= 88, No reason, I'm not the one, We're All to Blame, Bitter End, Welcome to Hell, PFP, Grab Devil..., Fat Lip, Hyper Insomnia, Hooch, Cover of Metallica. You'll notice that a lot of the list is some of their newer stuff. Its not because its trendy right now, but IMHO, they just released some killer heavy songs that i love.
