MAYH is an amazing album.
Prologue sets the scene and leads straight into April ethereal

April ethereal, a great song, just great, the composition of this peice is so good.

When is just mind-blowingly amazing if you listen to it.

Madrigal provides a really nice instrumental

The amen corner is probably the worst song on the cd, but don't get me wrong, still a top song.

Demon of the fall IS a great song, not the best as some people would say, but it is definatly one of my favourites.

Credence is beautiful, in the same league as Face of Melinda and Benighted.

Karma is an all out barrage of musical genius, again, one of my favourites on the cd.

Epilogue is a beautiful track to finish with.

This album is one of my favourites, and with good reason.

As you've probably already seen me going on about, Still Life showcases everything Opeth can do (and is my personal favorite). So it's the one I'd recommend you get.

I never understand why people think Still Life is so great. It's a great album, yeah, but I think Opeth has done so much better. Blackwater Park, for example, is an improvement on the Still Life style. Also, Face of Melinda is one of the few Opeth songs that I've just never been able to get into. Actually, the only other song I've never really cared for from them is Wreath.

I love Face of Melinda and think Still Life is brilliant.

White Cluster, The Moor, Godhead's Lament, Moonlapse Vertigo are all kickass songs IMO.

I just picked up my first Opeth album, Blackwater Park. Amazing album, with great songs. And I love the way the singer( Mikael Akerfeldt, thank you :thumb: ) Can growl and do clean vocals so well.

Quick q for you guys, do you pronounce is Oh-peth or Oh-pith?

Opeth are amazing.
They are defintely my favorite band, and i like all their albums, especially ****ation.
I agree that they are a band that everyone should listen to, at least once.
The mix of death metal and progressive metal in most albums, and then that single awesome album, "****ation", is just brilliant.
Through the stress they had to make some of these albums, i think they managed brilliantly.

That is honestly the first time i've ever heard that adjective used to describe that album.

Mine was A Fair Judgement's second solo, you know that minute long one, but recently it's Black Rose Immortal's solo around 15 minutes into it (2nd solo??). My goodness I love them both.

as for my favorite solo it has to be the solo in the beggining of the leper affinity

I've said it before i'll say it again... Martin Lopez is the most under rated drummer of all time the song Deliverence changed my life.

I saw them with porcupine tree and it was the best concert I have ever been to and probably be the best I will ever go to. I thought I died and went to prog. heaven

I cannot think of a single reason I would have been banned.
I've had the same problem before and I was able to log in a couple of hours later. I have no idea why.

Yeah, that is a pretty sweet list, but one song that i find should be mentioned, is "Benighted"

18 actually sounds about right, i dont agree with meshuggah at number 1, but opeth towards the bottom is about right. You should be greatful they are even on the list.

I bet arcturus wasn't even on that list, so seriously, the list has no validity anyway
