Live From the Lake Coast is a sweet DVD...in terms of albums and shows, the show they played in Albany last January (? dont remember) is sweet. Check out bt.etree.org for some shows, (Portland) and for albums...Local band does Oklahoma has a dank version of Der Bluten Kat. That, Jimmy Stewart, JaJunk and Push the Pig are some of my favorite tracks.

November was tha Albany show.

jerm267 03-10-2005 06:48 PM

funkybeeatch14 03-10-2005 06:51 PM

Who's coming to RI? Do youguys get alot of good bands down (up) there?

jerm267 03-10-2005 06:56 PM

ri is a cultureless hell hole in the winter, but we get the newport jazz fest in the summer. srv played there a while back. the next good jam band in ri is assembly of dust, and ratdog who are comin on 4/20.

funkybeeatch14 03-10-2005 06:58 PM

Ratdog are pretty good...way better than the The Dead (personal opinion). The show last August up here was less than great.

EDIT: The last Dead show, I mean. :upset:

True that, live music is live music, it's fun.
The closest Jack comes to me is North Carolina...a whole freakin state away. I'm in West Virginia by the way. He comes to Philly but that's an eight hour drive all in itself.
at least you don't live in Vermont, not to mention i was all set to make a road trip in april down to wanee, for a truly epic festival, and now it looks like that isn't happening, did i also mention that bonnaroo is on graduation day so that's not happening either

nectarjam 03-10-2005 09:53 PM

Isn't phish from vermont?

Badmoon 03-10-2005 10:02 PM

Northern Panhandle, so I go to Pittsburgh for shows, but they really don't get much during winter.

funkybeeatch14 03-11-2005 04:32 PM

Upstate New York is usually jampacked with shows in the summer and spring..but there hasnt been much going on lately, unless you count Loverboy as a good band.

6Stringer 03-11-2005 11:46 PM

Gov't Mule is coming April 13th and Los Lonely Boys are playing at the end of April here, yay! I'm going to both shows.

pegwedge 03-11-2005 11:54 PM
Northern Panhandle, so I go to Pittsburgh for shows, but they really don't get much during winter.
You're lucky. I'm stuck right in the middle of the state. Atleast until this fall when I get to start at Fairmont State. :thumb: I can't wait. An hour away from Pittsburgh will be nice.

jpj 03-12-2005 02:29 PM

What's a good Deep Banana Blackout album?

jerm267 03-12-2005 03:30 PM

dunno if it counts for jam but could someone point me in the direction of a good g love album?

jpj 03-14-2005 02:53 PM

I got Rusted Root-When I Woke :)
I've only heard that one song that Badmoon sent me a really long time ago.
Which song? Did you like it? Would you like to hear more?

Badmoon 03-14-2005 04:05 PM

^Calm down you :p

"Rain" > "Send me on my Way"

Ironic you should say that, I got Hustle today, AMAZING :thumb:
It's on Brushire Records and Jack Johnson is on a song, it's such a good CD, when you get it make sure the CD clerk gives you a copy of the Bonus Tracks, they're in a separate package.

I'd also reccomend his s/t, and 'Yeah It's That Easy'

Hustle is without The Special Sauce so it's slightly different, but it is great.

Check out Jack Johnson's soundtrack to Thicker Than Water if you like G. Love, he has some awesome songs on that album.

EDIT:

This Canadian band Throwback I've been listening to lately is really cool:
http://www.throwbackonline.com/v2/
They have songs on their site playing, good quality.

...and JPJ, Deep Banana Blackout had a show near me recently but I didn't go. I guess I should've but something important must've stopped me, what songs do you like by them?

funkybeeatch14 03-14-2005 05:40 PM

Donna the Bufallo are coming to a local venue near me...yall should check them out. Theyre kind of like a blues/roots band.
^Calm down you :p

Ecstasy > all the other songs on that album

Dark Star Orchestra and Victor Wooten are coming to Pittsburgh. I hope I get to see one of them.

Jam2Me 03-14-2005 07:19 PM

Go for the Dark Star Orchestra if you can only see one of those shows.

jpj 03-14-2005 07:25 PM

On www.pollstar.com it says DSO is coming in April, but on their site it doesn't say anything about a Pittsburgh show. And it said Victor is coming in april, but his site says he's coming in June.

EDIT: Nevermind, their sites have it listed as Millvale, PA instead of Pittsburgh, which threw me off.

funkybeeatch14 03-14-2005 07:57 PM

Vic Wootens coming to Albany on the 19th, but I have no money.*

*I spent it all on Live Phish albums and an acrylic bong.

They are always trying to throw you off. Reefer paranoia.
