BRANDONI: philly = not close to pittsburgh. other side of the state.

ANDY: totally, the no chorus thing adds a lot to the song.

B-RAN: well, its not that it doesnt fit with the rest of it that gets me. I think that if we do have a chorus in it, it should be moved more towards the end of the song. the structure would be like this, in my mind:

Intro
Verse type-thing-mabob
Chorus
Wierd 5/4 time interlude
Way slowed down 4/4 time interlude (serves almost as a second verse)
Chorus

Basically, i just dont want to have verse/chorus/verse/chorus.

oic :upset:

Intro/Verse/Chorus/Verse/Chorus/interlude(or bridge)/Chorus songs are overdone.

That seems to be the general structure anyways.

cobert 12-15-2005 09:49 PM

Yeah, my structure is similar, but i dont want a second verse to be the same as the first. A 5/4 time interlude would be sweet. Maybe throw in a key signature change. Im just saying, if he wants to be wierd, he might as well drag both feet into the door.

I like songs with ambient intros/outros/interludes. Interludes are fun.

damn right. i really want to do a lot with music that my playing ability just cant handle. i really want to stock up on keyboards and stuff so i can experiment a lot with that. i also really think that during a second or third verse it would be cool to drop all the instruments except drums and have it spoken or something like that

YES. YES. YES. JOIN MY BAND NOW.

I would steal the spoken w/ drums part, but that would be mean, so i wont. Thats a great idea though.

Another idea i have is to have a real long intro and outro with just acoustic bass and a synthesizer, and maybe have something like waves crashing or something in the background (ambience).

OMG OKAY!!!!!!

/joins band

Nite Brandon. You can be our singer.

I might get off in a bit too. I dont want to be falling asleep on the timpani's tomorrow.

B 12-15-2005 10:08 PM

LMAO Timpanis are crazy.

/leaves for real this time

cobert 12-15-2005 10:17 PM

Although i enjoy the timpani's, the crash cymbals are more fun. The downside to both is that when you mess up, its usually obvious, as opposed to something like the suspended cymbal. The audience might not have know there was supposed to be a crescendo in a certain part, but when you hit the crash off time, its sounds really bad.

CommieCanada 12-15-2005 10:18 PM

TakeWarning 12-16-2005 05:41 AM

I started mine on December 7th.

DepthsOfDreams555 12-16-2005 05:47 AM

Man I got today and a whole other week of school.

B 12-16-2005 06:19 AM

Stupid snow. It was supposed to snow really heavily all night and it stopped around 11 and hasn't snowed since. Fucking hell. It was supposed ot be a garunteed snow day.

HomeCatMickey8 12-16-2005 07:27 AM

We have a two hour delay.

I haven't been on here due to the fact that my computer was actin' a fool. But it's being nice today.

I know! We were promised 30 centimetres of snow, and we barely got 5! Everyone basically skipped school today anyways because they thought it was going to be a blizzard so they made plans. I didn't though, because I'm so studious

billiejoe84 12-16-2005 09:04 AM

We still have no snow here :upset:

ZaaR 12-16-2005 09:07 AM

Well, snow is both a good and a bad thing. It's fun to play in, but it's a bitch to shovel. It took my dad an hour to get from my house to the Soccer Centre yesterday which is a usual 15 minute drive.

billiejoe84 12-16-2005 09:11 AM

I just like it for a bit of variety, if nothing else. Here in Britain at this time of year, it's all grey skies and drizzle.

Plus, snow lets you sing songs like this one:

Yes.

NP: Plus 44. Nice.

ZaaR 12-16-2005 09:13 AM

England weather is always crap. I went in the summer and it rained for atleast 30 minutes everyday.

Kif 12-16-2005 09:14 AM

Last day and I didn't even have a full school assembly. Granted, I have no idea if it's today, Monday or Tuesday (We are supposed to break up Tuesday, but I have no lessons then), but I still wouldn't have gone.

billiejoe84 12-16-2005 09:30 AM

Breaking up on a Tuesday is a bit daft, isn't it? Makes more sense for it to be the end of a week, surely.

Bloody schools.

Kif 12-16-2005 09:41 AM

I think they thought the 16th was a bit early, and the 23rd was too late. Still retarded is you ask me though. I only have one lesson those 2 days anyway, so I don't think it will matter if I'm not there.

Look! Christmas avatar!

Well, my school used to break up on the 23rd (or thereabouts) so bleh. I don't finish work until the 22nd this year :upset:

*looks at avy*

Lovely.

Maybe I should have a Chrimbo theme for mine.
