Whats the specs on the computer you're building?
I haven't picked everything out yet, and some of the parts may change as time goes on (I won't be building until after Vista is released and they've worked out the issues), but I have a few things decided on:

Intel Core 2 Duo e6700 Processor
nVidia nForce 680i Mobo
2GB DD2 800 RAM
nVidia GeForce 8800GTX (if I can afford it, or unless something else is released)
Creative X-Fi Elite Pro Sound Card

I asked for the sound card for Christmas, because I can use that in my current computer, but everything else I'll probably be buying myself in a few months. My computer right now still runs most games on high specs (2.4 GHz w/ nVidia 6800 GT), so I'm alright for a while.

I got to make chocolates at work today. How cool is that. And then take a 20 minute walk with one of the kids to take the bottles back. Made $17.85, pretty good. (I didn't get to keep it, though)

And I got a christmas card from one of the kids. Made me real happy.

Man, finals are finally over, WOOT WOOT, I love kitties as well,

EDIT: 900th POST!!

Sunshine 12-19-2006 10:43 PM

Haha, I finished finals today.

2 100 question tests, back to back.

I got bored at the end of both of them and probably missed a lot of questions after ~#75...I just can't handle tests that long, all the words start to jumble up and don't make any sense to me no matter HOW many times I re-read 'em.

Maggot Dream 12-19-2006 10:45 PM

in my quest to find a good rock drumming book, somebody over at drummerworld suggested getting the Led Zeppelin songbook. Now, firstly, I wasnt too sure getting a songbook would really help me as much as a standard technical book, and secondly, if I were to get a songbook, Id get something other then Zeppelin (maybe Deep Purple or Jethro Tull, problem is you will never find any of those).

So I was in GC today (getting a headache by 3 idiot metalhead n00bs playing at once) and I noticed two Zeppelin drum books. I took a look in them and thought "you know, this would be fun to play out of." I also found some things in there that looked quite challenging to me, so I figured I can learn a thing or two from this book.

I also checked out Carmin Appices book, but it seemed pretty beginner, as are most of the books they had there. No New Breed in stock so I didnt get to check that out.

Anyway, what are your guys thoughts on getting a songbook?

Corkofski 12-20-2006 01:21 AM

songbooks are fun.

led zep has some crazy ****

maniac0796 12-20-2006 03:06 AM

i had to get up at 8 to go to the opticians this morning :(

Might aswell go to bloody school...

And check out my first short song i made on reason. Dunno where it's going. Gonna put a lead line over it i think. Made it with the drum computer and malstrom synth,

Man i hate kids having tantrums in shopping centres/super-markets (where i work), it really shits me. And then, while some are tanruming (sp??), hissing, screaming etc. A couple decide to pick up squeaky chew toys (for dogs) and squeak them non-stop for about 10mins. I was about to slap their mothers, honest.

 Reminds me of one time we went to K-Mart I think during a spare in school so my friend could look at mp3 players. While he was doing that, me and another friend were walking around the toy section. And there it was: A display of the Crazy Frog "Most Annoying Toy" (actual name, something like that atleast). You press a button on it, and it makes the most annoying sounds for like 45 seconds. There were about 100 of these things on display. We pressed all 100, stood back, and laughed. An employee came up to us, gave us the meanest look, and I swear he was about to slap us both. Then he walked away and we pressed them all again. But this time my friend took a video of it on his phone.

Speaking of snow, I was walking home yesterday along a sidewalk, with a huge field to the left of me. They got the big snow removal tractor on the sidewalk, but all the snow was left on the field. I was walking along it, and the snow on the field was up past my hips. I'm 6' tall, so that's about 3' of snow.

That was the first time this year I realized how much snow we actually got. All the paths I walk through are all compacted and generally there's only maybe 6 inches to a foot of snow up past where my foot is.

the_pure_drummer 12-20-2006 12:25 PM

Real nice man!^ Im going snowboarding in austria on january 2008 with all my friends!

They don't have a whole lot right now, but i'm only boarding for two days.

Win A Rabbit 12-20-2006 01:07 PM

Okay guys, I'm participating in a $5 gift exchange with the kids at work on the 22nd. But I can't think of anything to get them that would be $5, and for male or female.

They're 12-17, plus there's 1 or 2 staff members (20+ years old) doing it.

So far all I've come up with is a gift certificate to the local donair shop (the only actual locally run food place in town, sadly). Any other ideas?
