Calvin and Hobbes and far Side are better than all other comics

40 oz 2 freedom 11-07-2005 10:16 PM

We're talking about current newspaper comics.
Yes. Soulseek is amazing.
does for me what the YSI thread did, but so much more. Not only did it fill the YSI thread's shoes, but it gave me acces to even more music, without request. Maybe subvert wasn't here when YSI existed. I suppose he could have been here, just not a user like i was back in the day.

Nerdcore753 11-07-2005 10:26 PM

The YSI threads helped me get into some bands that I would have normally never downloaded. They never compared to Soulseek, though.

Sebek 11-07-2005 10:35 PM

I had some trouble using Soulseek, I'm positive I was just using it wrong though. Anyone care to tutor me?

TheNowhereman42 11-07-2005 10:37 PM

I only got into Calvin and Hobbes through a book that my dad's roommate gave me, so I never really read the strips. Didn't they stop running in like...89 though?

you best bet to finding stuff is through room or list searches, as well as browsing users you know.

If you aren't already, go into the room "allthehubub"

Yes. There's a complete collection out that I want to buy.

I was here then; I uploaded a few albums for you guys here. It's just, I find most everything I want using Limewire.

TheNowhereman42 11-07-2005 11:43 PM

I had a coffe, 2 100mm cigarettes, and a monster, and it cost me very little at all, and now I'm really twitchy.

Also, I think its hillarious that one guy started a thread to choose between seeing The Adicts and Blitz, and in LA they're playing together.

And I'm bored.
As opposed to the other newspaper comics? Honestly, after Calvin and Hobbes stopped being syndicated, The boondocks became the best newspaper comic.

EDIT: Or at least up there with what could be considered 'good' newspaper comics.
Oh noes ****** kids saying anti-white people things.

It's old, played out, and no longer funny.

But truth, there is no such thing as a good syndicated newspaper comic, besides papers that still run Calvin and Hobbes.

TheNowhereman42 11-08-2005 12:11 AM

The AS Boondocks show looks awesome.

Glitterati 11-08-2005 12:13 AM

Holy crap!

Before and after craziness!
FOXTROT and ZITS
Both suck a'ss.
Oh noes ****** kids saying anti-white people things.
True, it's not surprising or shocking, but it's a lot better than watching garfield or whatever other boring cartoon character make the same 'jokes' every day.

Boondocks isn't always funny or clever but occasionally it can be.

Sid 11-08-2005 01:20 AM

The problem is that usually the characters are under-developed in syndicated comics, and just turn out boring. The punchline comics are usually unfunny as the cartoonists can't use profanity, sex, drugs or anything else parents would find offensive and unsuitable for their children.

Although, the above isn't always needed, just look at Calvin and Hobbes. Great story, great characters, and it could be both funny and easily relatable to.

Webcomics really are the future of cartooning.

Brain Toad 11-08-2005 01:22 AM

Speaking of webcomics, I am incredibly far behind in my updates, which is dangerous for the amount I read.

TakeWarning 11-08-2005 04:51 AM

That latest Nothing Nice comic was rather humourous.

lynch_me 11-08-2005 06:47 AM

one day my comics will be rule THE WORLD

40 oz 2 freedom 11-08-2005 07:00 AM

I never really thought Calvin and Hobbes was funny or anything, just a lil cute.

FunknPunk 11-08-2005 07:16 AM
one day my comics will be rule THE WORLD
yeah they will....

They aren't funny, but they're enjoyable to read.

Liebensaft 11-08-2005 10:24 AM

I found a site that I enjoyed with comic type things. They're all just 1 frame though.

Soulseek is much better than Limewire. You can find so much more, and the risk of virus is almost non-existent.

Biscuit_box 11-08-2005 10:59 AM

That ham sandwich was not nice... it needed some sauce on it. Maybe some brown YR sauce... yummy!
Sam is sexy.
Where are half the guys who use to be here months ago???
