Demilich sounds really good so far. I can see the vocals becoming grating at one point or another, but they aren't too bad now. This is really impressive considering when the album was written/recorded.
if you can take the vocals at first, they'll eventually just fall into place and you wont notice them as much. |
Yeah, it's wayyyyy ahead of it's time. It was hard for me to believe it came out in '92.
Brutal Truth are a band I've been putting off checking out forever. I always forget to find something.
Extreme Conditions Demand Extreme Responses is excellant. |

Brutal Truth is essential.

Zombie Ritual is so fun.
|
it's the death metal sing along:
Drink from the goblet, the goblet of gore Taste the zombie's drug, now you want more Drifting from the living, joining with the dead Zombie dwelling maggots, now infest your head Zombie ritual Zombie ritual |
I was talking about the band. The Death song rules too though, one of my first DM tracks.
|
Wow, I should've guessed that. They look pretty crazy... Death/Thrash from Japan? I'm gonna have to say that almost any band with zombie lyrical themes is gonna be fun. LMFAO, I like the stage names too (Alchohol- Guitar)
|
Night Of The Zombie Party is really good
|
Send me it sometime, it looks like a really fun CD. Mainly because every song includes the word 'zombie' in it:
1. Zombie Ritual 2. Zombie Fire 3. Zombified 4. Zom-Beer 5. Zombies Devour You Alive 6. Brains For Zombies 7. Zombie Axe Massacre 8. Zombie Party 9. Zombie Drive 10. Zombie Legions Kill! Kill! 11. Die Zombies Die 12. Zombie Metal War AWESOME |
It's a fun album, definitely worth a listen.

So does that mean BTBAM is Symphonic Death Metal too? Or The Faceless? That coming from someone who thinks "deathcore" doesn't exist. |
Shutup hbp.
So does that mean BTBAM is Symphonic Death Metal too? Or The Faceless?
That coming from someone who thinks "deathcore" doesn't exist.
Coming from someone who can't even argue why a certain album is better, I'll shrug off your attempt at talking down to me. You'll notice that I said "symphonic death or whatever the...", hence it wasn't meant to be taken as a factual statement. Furthermore, deathcore doesn't exist. Beyond that, BTBAM have shitty tacky keyboards. Phlebtomized have violinists (ie: an actual symphonic element) as well as synthesized strings. So, in short, shut up. |
^^^Long version of my post

Yours wasn't there when I posted that though.
|
You really should try to have a point when you post though (this goes for me as well). Backing up your "band rules, album sucks" posting usually makes for a better environment.
Also, kettle, you're black.
Two faced bastard tbh |
Deathcore exists. I like the term, even if its used to label a lot of bad bands that have nothing to do with hardcore.

Not really, I just can't take people making bold statements while ignoring what they're making a statement on. If you've got an actual argument (ie: why the band in question isn't "symphonic whatever") you should probably intellectualize it. It's just getting old. Yesterday Nemesis tried his hardest to incite a discussion about two Suffocation albums. While he proved his opinion you threw some tantrum and said "no im not doing this stfuwtf"
Deathcore exists. I like the term, even if its used to label a lot of bad bands that have nothing to do with hardcore.
I agree that it's plausible but I've yet to see any substantial criteria that would lead me to believe it can be properly applied. I mean, plenty of early dm bands (my most frequent reference being Entombed) who are filled with a heavy hardcore influence but yet that doesn't apply. Some bands employ hardcore aspects in their vocal delivery, gang vocals, whatever...but I still refuse to use the term until it's actually concrete. |
The Faceless is a terrible band. Why the **** did Elliott Sellers quit JFAC to drum for them.
|
I think "deathcore" is a label used for death metal bands that take influences from modern metalcore instead of hardcore punk. I mean, TTEOTD for example, has metalcore-ish breakdowns and melodic riffing (reminiscent of modern metalcore) and death metal mixed in. The melodic riffing has nothing to do with hardcore at all, but it's where they take the influence from (Probably the likes of AILD or Unearth, not In Flames or At the Gates).

So they finally have a permanent drummer?
I think "deathcore" is a label used for death metal bands that take influences from modern metalcore instead of hardcore punk. Nearly everyone who applies the genre to a band is completely ignorant in regards to hardcore. And your point about them being based off AILD and Unearth rather than ATG or In Flames is invalidated upon realizing that AILD and Unearth are heavily influenced by those bands. |
I'm not arguing that it's the truth, I'm just saying that that's why the label is applied.
|
I'm not arguing that it's the truth, I'm just saying that that's why the label is applied.
I know, I'm just saying my opinion on it. It's a civil argument, no worries. |
I don't know, maybe. If so they have an extremely sloppy drummer. Creative, but sloppy.
And when I use the term deathcore, I use it to describe stuff like Animosity, The Red Chord, Knights Of The Abyss, or Despised Icon... you know, bands that play death metal with hardcore parts? |

That was my point in not arguing with Matt because it never gets me anywhere. People like you come in with "shut up im smarter than you. I like interllectual muisc and people love me!". You're quickly becoming a Crav, I hope you know that. |
that makes more sense.
