(i hope we don't mwaha)

RouteOne 06-15-2006 06:48 PM

Sooooooooo.....i'm guessing the poem thing is a no go then?

Amit 06-15-2006 07:23 PM

yeah basically

Chaindrive 06-15-2006 08:06 PM

Why not?

Jom 06-15-2006 09:07 PM

You could get her some flowers to go with the poem. I wouldn't write a poem, though - I would write a letter. Sure, she might have done it already for you, but I think you'd be more successful with a letter than a poem.

Roses are red
Violets are blue
I loves me some poon
So can I please bone you?
Actually, I dont know why people need to ask anyway. I mean, if you are close enough where it is clear you both have interest in each other, why do you have to have a spoken agreement with each other. Why not just continue what you are doing and become an "official" couple over time. I dunno, maybe I just have a silly way of thinking.
Agreed fo' sho'.

/late

Chaindrive 06-15-2006 09:31 PM

/way late.
Sooooooooo.....i'm guessing the poem thing is a no go then?
letter>poem.

if you really want to write her something, i would totally go for the letter.

poem is just cheesy...a letter can be alot more heartfelt, and not come off as cheesy as a poem would be.

heyyyyy my first contribution to the L&R thread. hey guys . ill try and make it a point to stop in here occasionally and help out...ive been meaning to for a while.

mmfan486 06-16-2006 04:47 PM

Poem or letter?

I know this isn't very helpful, but:

Either done well have a positive effect.
But if you do either and you **** it up, you'll spend the rest of your life wishing you'd had your mouth sewn up at birth. Believe me, I know.

So, bottom line... make sure it's good. In fact, get it to a "proofreader," in this case it might be a mutual friend who you can trust to give an honest opinion, and they can read it and check that you're not talking out of your rear extremity. It will pay dividends. Trust me on this.

Good luck with it anyway.

Would you guys recommend me telling a complete stranger that I think she's the most beautiful girl I've ever seen? Not that it matters, because I plan on doing so anyway. Some things just have to be said.

Pazz 06-16-2006 06:37 PM

I tell girls they are good looking all the time. Even if I don't have feelings for them.

Neurotoxin 06-16-2006 06:37 PM

Good looking? Beautiful, not good looking. Two inherently different beasts, my friend.

Hmmmmmm I would think that would freak her out a bit. Get to know her first.

Neurotoxin 06-16-2006 06:55 PM

Do you take me for an idiot? If I COULD get to know her first, I sure as hell would, but that's just not going to happen anytime soon.

Well, tell us the situation on why you can't get to know her first.

Neurotoxin 06-16-2006 07:14 PM

The primary reason is that school ends in less than a week, which means I can either do nothing and let her image plague me for the entire summer, or do something drastic and hope for the best. Now, I could just wait until school starts up again next fall, but she may meet someone over the summer. I mean, the worst that could happen if I do tell her is that says "thanks" and walks away. Even if nothing does happen, at least I'll be remembered as "the sweet guy who told me I was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen". Either that or "the creepy pervert". Regardless, I think it'd be a huge stepping stone for me, since I've never done something so remotely out of character.

My suggestion is to somehow get her screen name or number and ask her to hang out over the summer.

But....if you don't or can't do that, I would ask her to come and talk with me for a second, then when you are away from everyone, say how you feel, then tell her that she's beautiful. But, STAY CONFIDENT. Nothing is worse than someone telling someone else something special and end up saying it all awkwardly and nervously. Just fill yourself with the fact that you only live once, and there is no reason to be scared of tlling someone something.

bumblebeebass 06-16-2006 07:30 PM

just tell her because you've got nothing to loose because as you said school is about to end so if she thinks you're weird then it doesn't matter because you won't have to see her for like three months:)

RouteOne 06-16-2006 07:33 PM

Yeah, just go for it.

Neurotoxin 06-16-2006 07:39 PM

Yeah, I think I'm gonna have to. If I don't, I'll be kickin' myself in the ass all summer. As far as I know we have a lot in common, which is really rare for me because I'm fairly distanced from the "norm" in postmodern culture.

I'll make sure to let you know how it goes.

bumblebeebass 06-16-2006 07:47 PM

:) good luck my love sick homie
