Can anyone suggest some other albums or artists similar to Panacea, Zion I, Binary Star, Damu The Fudgemunk, Diverse, Finale, or J-Live? I'm having trouble finding more artists to listen to, I'm not a huge fan of commercially motivated artists, or songs just because of the beat, I'm a huge fan of lyrical content, thanks in advance - if anyone can suggest anything that would be great.

ATM 01-18-2010 11:31 AM

Check out Grap Luva.

Shindleria Praematurus 01-18-2010 11:37 AM

Hieroglyphics to be newish old school and Ultramagnetic MC's to be old new-school.

ATM 01-18-2010 11:45 AM

Also Crown City Rockers, Swamburger, Dela, Blame One, and Che Grand.

There was a time when Aceyalone was amazing. His new stuff is a little too weird.

Have you tried OneBeLo's solo albums and/or Senim Silla's solo albums?

ATM 01-20-2010 09:16 AM

It's a disappointment after how good the first one was. "Right Away" and "Spotlight" are the only songs I listen to.

ATM 01-23-2010 06:06 PM

Really? I'm diggin this one just as much. Been listening to a bunch of Atlanta artists lately, really liking Donnis.

SgtBaker 01-23-2010 07:19 PM

i was gonna go to the release party which was like every artist on it playing, but it was 21+ of course

The first one was great. I find this one pretty forgettable. The Proton track is disappointing. The Pill track is disappointing. The Gripplyaz track is disappointing. Aleon Craft isn't very good on it. The first two I've heard nothing but good stuff from before. The last two I grew to like after the first one, along with Tom P, Young Trimm, and Jay West. Oh well.
You guys may like this: http://www.teasearecords.net/wuvsbeatles

Beats sampling Beatles songs with Wu-Tang acapellas. Tom Caruana is a great producer as well so...

EDIT: he's also done MF DOOM remixes: http://www.teasearecords.net/mfdoomremixes.cfm
This one has more grower tracks, I think. I love the Proton, Yelawolf, Aleon Craft, Grip Plyaz, Hollyweerd tracks. Some other cool ones.
