Cardinal Sin.... i've heard the name but i haven't downloaded anything by them. What are they like?
Cardinal Sin.... i've heard the name but i haven't downloaded anything by them. What are they like?
Right on the disc it says "OLD SCHOOL THRASH METAL".

It's agressive at times, but mostly it's upbeat and has a positive message. The rythms are really fast and the solos are pretty good. The singer imitates the dudes from Metallica and Slayer.

It's pretty fast stuff and has tons of changes in the music. I don't know too much about thrash so you'd have to hear it.

Apocalyptic Raids 04-05-2005 07:06 AM

Sounds good.

I actually found out about some new Sepultura live DVD. While it seems to have 75% Derek Green material, i found out that they play Troops Of Doom and Necromancer with the Jairo Geudz on guitar! I doubt i will buy it, but it would be cool to see them play with Jairo. If max was there it would be like back in '85

Its alright, but thats on the first spin

He plays with them now, i think he joined in 2003 or possibly 2002

It would be sweet to see some old style Sepultura, I think the oldest footage I've seen of them is Inner Self live '89 on the Chaos DVD.

It might be pretty challenging: Check lesser known record shops around your area, try eBay, and if worse comes to worse see if Amazon has it.

FatalEnergy 04-05-2005 03:44 PM

I got a video, of Sodom playing Nuclear Winter live back in '87 off some dude on Soulseek, and it kicks major ***, If anyone wants to check it out, I am TerribleCertainty on Soulseek

RCA 04-05-2005 05:33 PM

I need to see that video.

Excellent album. It will grow on you in time. Did you get the 3-Disc Set?! The remastering job they did on it was great! It's well worth the cash! I got it for $18(CDN)!!

FatalEnergy 04-05-2005 06:50 PM

To bad you can't see the Sodom video, it's great, they don't miss a note. It's funny at the very end it looks like Frank Blackfire is going to back up into a pyrotechnic that goes off

RCA 04-05-2005 07:52 PM

Yeah, I can't browse you either. Anyway you could upload it via yousendit.com?

 I have to see that bootleg!

CaptainWaits 04-05-2005 09:02 PM

Well I've finally recieved Relix IV by Overkill.

It may not be as good as some of the other 'Kill albums, but it's still great in my eyes. Probably thrashier than Killbox, but not as heavy, and I really appealed to the heavy sound in Killbox

I started to download a live sepultura concert from 1986 off soulseek, but the guy stopped sharing the vid :( I still got 150mb done before he took it off.

RavenousMetalist87 04-05-2005 10:19 PM

The only bootlegs I have are 2 Slayer ones, 1 from the Antichrist tour in 83 (Has 5 songs), and then "The Antichrist (Live)" from the Hell Awaits era from "Ultimate Revenge for Disco".

Oy, but I'm downloading some Razor stuff :D Evil Invaders

FatalEnergy 04-05-2005 11:27 PM

I have 1 and a 1/2 parts of the Ultimate Revenge for Disco, in fact, Violence, sent most of it to me, I have Exodus playing Pirhana, Slayer playing Die By the Sword and Venom, playing I think Witching Hour, and then some of Slayer playing some other, I never got the rest

oh yeah, I'm uploading the Sodom video for you guys

What Sabbat CD did you order?

NP: Sex Pistols - Bodies

metal-militia 04-06-2005 06:55 AM

History of a time to come, i reckon it should be here in a few days.

Thrashmaster - Spurs = scum  ;)

ThrashMaster27 04-06-2005 08:52 AM

Quiet you Saints scummer!

That's a **** good album though! Best of the UK pile.

ForiegnPenguin 04-06-2005 01:10 PM

Kreator kicked some serious ***. Vader was great too, hell, even Pro-Pain was pretty good. Kreator opened with Choir of the ****ed, I was praying it would lead to Ripping Corpse but it didn't. It was Enemy of God. My favorties were Impossible Brutality, Pleasure to Kill, Extreme Aggression, People of the Lie and so forth.

Sounded good.

Thrashmaster, you're from Australia and you support an English team?
Go back to supporting Perth Glory :p

RedHedFighter666 04-06-2005 04:52 PM

anybody else here think that megadeth (early days) are a underrated thrash band?
cause i think they kicked a.s.s.

ForiegnPenguin 04-06-2005 05:32 PM

Indeed they kicked *** but by no means are they underrated.

RCA 04-06-2005 05:47 PM

I got my Kreator tickets!!!

May 5, 2005 @ The Masquerade in Tampa, FL.

I was reading concert reviews on the Kreator-Terrorzone forums, and supposedly Kreator has been playing Total Death!

ForiegnPenguin 04-06-2005 08:05 PM

You will not be dissapointed.

FatalEnergy 04-06-2005 09:28 PM

My computer has been acting funky, so you guys will have to wait a bit for the Nuclear Winter vid, sorry. Anyway, They are playing Total Death!!! That rules, I hope they play it when I see them on the 21st of this month

I'm English, sonny jim. I've only been over here for 2 years.

Grrr, why is everyone so stupid in that ****ing Metallica thread. They can't even grasp simple concepts, asmuch as I shotgun it into their brains.

"Dave did the solos on Kill 'Em All"

"Oh wow, Kirk was so great on Kill 'Em All, Dave could never pull of them solos"

SHUT UP DAMMIT!

Apparently, my idea with the Metallica fans is that when people like a specific band (such as Metallica), they tend to like, worship them like a God.

To me, I think they're ignorant. I was offered to play in this band called Black Dawn, but the bassist and I didn't get along with the whole influences. He was trying to push me into the band, even when I was still suffering from a lot of trouble in life, which I have gotten better from. Then came the big fued. He was just heavily into Metallica, and that's all he cared about...

All it was about on music was "Metallica guitars with Maiden vocals". I don't mind Maiden, but Metallica...ugh, I specifically kept telling him I was into "Extreme Thrash, heavy, fast and deadly". He didn't get the idea that Metallica with some Slayer moments wouldn't cut it.

Then finally he was like "oh w/e dude, I can't bull**** right now. Family Guy is on!"

Just earlier today, I asked my own mother about America, and how a majority of Americans sit around the tube just to watch the latest episode of "Desperate Housewives", or "American Idol". Hell, even "The OC".

If they want more entertainment, they should come to my city, Los Angeles. I guess it's that exciting to watch people's drama.

Eh, I guess I was bit bitter, but Family Guy is awesome though. However it's dumb when you let you have to go to catch a re-run that you can probably watch again in 3 hrs...that is if you're an insomiac.

/end.

FatalEnergy 04-06-2005 11:32 PM

yeah, I know this dude, who is all about Metallica, he dosent want to listen to anything else, and I've forcefed him, Kreator, Dark Angel, Slayer, Destruction, Death, Vio-lence and the just about any other thrash band that is better than Metallica. And still, all he listens to is Metallica, is pathetic, even Metallica's old stuff is way overrated, I mean I like the Ride the Lightning, but it's definatley not a Leave Scars, or an Eternal Devastation, or even a Show No Mercy or KIMB. It's kind of sad that out of all the thrash bands, society really had to hold on to Metallica instead of another band that actually has some balls

Apocalyptic Raids 04-06-2005 11:43 PM

I will upload a couple of parts to the ultimate revenge vid in the next day or so. I will leave the first one to upload while i sleep tonight then put it up in the morning. :thumb:

Stupid slow upload speed :upset:

FatalEnergy 04-07-2005 12:42 AM

Hey, this is probably going to sound quite lame, but, I'm just now starting to get into King Diamond/Mercyful Fate. I have no album's by either of them, and I was wondering what album I should start out with

Apocalyptic Raids 04-07-2005 12:54 AM

Get Melissa. Not sure about King Diamond

metal-militia 04-07-2005 11:12 AM
I'm English, sonny jim. I've only been over here for 2 years.
Where in England were you?

I like some of Mercyful Fates stuff, and RCA's right, get Melissa.

RCA 04-07-2005 03:58 PM

There's a 2 CD Mercyful Fate album that's out there, containing "Melissa" and "Don't Break The Oath". I would try to find that. I like all of Mercyful Fate's albums, but you should start off with their early works.

For King Diamond, get anything. I especially like Abigail though, so if you want an album name there it is.
...and RCA's right, get Melissa.
How'd you know I was going to recommend that??!??!?!
