yeah theres nothing wrong with reading the bible. but translating it into todays terms is actually pretty funny. Like i was listening to my pastor (yes i go to church and yes i do learn something from it), he would read the passage and look at everybody while everyone was puzzled by not knowing what he was saying then he would say, "Its a good thing dont worry". then everybodys faces would be like phew, good.

ghettoeddo 02-06-2006 09:44 PM

^ haha your pastor = cool.
my church is freaking conservative and all strict about things. i was late to church once by 5 minutes cuz i stoped at wendy's for lunch and i got chewed out by the choir leader and the pastor.

dont let yourself be offended by being called "bible thumper."
in this day and age, it's cool to read the bible for fun. you're smarter that way.
isn't "in this day and age" a band?

Jev 02-07-2006 01:50 AM

Dream Theater being religious makes religion cooler.

DizzyTS 02-07-2006 01:55 AM
Dream Theater being religious makes religion cooler.
lol :p

I don't judge people by watching at their religion, and I don't even have a religion myself.

GenuineImitation 02-07-2006 05:37 PM
At least she somewhat listens to Dream Theater lol. Also I ahve another Problem with this girl. she thinks Im A "Bible Thumper" because. well yeah, I read the Bible for fun and study that sorta thing in my spare time lol, and apparently thats Uncool for a 15 year old
Tell her "so what." I read the Bible sometimes also. Tell her it makes you happy (Im guessing it does) and she should respect that. If she really loves you, she would accept you for who you are. Not how cool or in style you are.

ghettoeddo 02-07-2006 06:31 PM

why is it out of style to read the bible? geez.
Dream Theater being religious makes religion cooler.
aaaamen.

but the whole DT being "religious" kinda goes against in the name of god?

White 02-07-2006 06:38 PM

OH yeah ,dont worry lol she loves that I read the Bible lol, she says it makes me "Unique" but yeah, latly we havnt talked bery much and tis dieing between us lol. And ya. I too don't beleive in organized releigion, I find that jsut about all religions now a days are jsut hypocrites claiming they are correect and other religions arnt, whihc is a sin, so im a conservative in religion, and I dont paln on becoming a religion, I have my own beliefs and theories that no releigion can accept. so yeah , I like it that way lol.

ghettoeddo 02-07-2006 06:39 PM
I tapped my tickets to my chest so I wont lose them.

Can't wait for the show. Only a month and a couple days for me. Who else is seeing DT on this tour?

KeysOfKarn 02-07-2006 09:29 PM

Ill be at the pantages march 10th.

whats cool about this show is that its their 20th aniversary. they are going to play such an incredible variety of music, its goign to be amazing. i respect these guys because they've managed try to appeal to many different genres thruout their career. you would never guess that "the answer lies within" and "awake" is the same band. horray for musicla diversity! Rudess is one very inspiring keyboardist.

thunderzstruck 02-07-2006 09:33 PM

sitting in row 7 for the concert

buuut my tickets haven't come yet though :(

thunderzstruck 02-07-2006 09:34 PM
There is nothing wrong with reading the Bible. Now I don't belive in organized religion but even I have read the bible for fun. I many not belive in some of the stoires or ideas in it but it still gives you a lot to think about.
the bible is an excellent book to live by if you don't take it too literally

ghettoeddo 02-07-2006 11:39 PM

I think they've said they don't let religion interfere(sp?) with their music. Or someone here said that. I don't remember.

nowitzki 02-08-2006 03:20 AM

DT's music is not religious in any way, regardless of the beliefs of the band members.

Triangle 02-08-2006 02:33 PM
i like lose yourself. dundundundundundundundun you betta lose yourself in the music you own it etc.

problem is, she only likes the cheesy ballads by dream theater like hollow years. and she thinks his voice on I&W is annoying and too high. you know how it is...they hear the opening acoustic guitar/piano intro "YAY THIS SONG IS PRETTY I LOVE IT!"
of course, like in the case of misunderstood... :thumb:
i prefer singers like james, dickinson much more than your SoCo, fall out boy, mae girly singers. they can't even vibrate T_T
Heh. My ex once said that Labrie "cannot sing" after listening to one of the songs.

GenuineImitation 02-08-2006 02:36 PM

Im sitting 8th row (Myung's side) at the Radio City Music Hall performance. I hopefully will be on the DVD when they scan over the crowd or film us waiting on line.

GenuineImitation 02-08-2006 03:47 PM
Haha, I am not seeing them on tour because they are not playing in South East, aint that a bitch! :(
That is a bitch. Im sure you'll catch them eventually.

ghettoeddo 02-08-2006 08:07 PM

man, how does it feel to be a part of DT history?
*envious*
labrie can sing better than most singers today. i wanna say "all", but i can't generalize that much :]

Petrucci 02-09-2006 12:24 AM

Would anyone be interested in buying two tickets to Dream Theater in San Fran March 11th, 2006 ? These are general admission tickets (floor), which are now gone at ticketmaster outlets.
I live in the Los Angeles area and it is just too far for me to attend. I was too excited when I bought them and I am already going to the Hollywood show on March 10th.

Jev 02-09-2006 01:51 AM

Ugh. If only I could get there, I'd buy them in an instant.
Nice name BTW.

periculosus 02-09-2006 06:25 PM

hey can you tell me something about the cd "a sort of homecoming"!!?!?!?

There is never such a thing as "too far" when we are talking about DT.
There is never such a thing as "too far" when we are talking about DT.
