So, if you could have one band to tour with Tool, each with 3 hour long sets, who would it be?

Me.. Mars Volta and Tool or Pink Floyd and Tool.
I'd love to see them and Meshuggah to tour again. But I would choose NIN easily.

With that combination, there just might be a chance of hearing an unreleased Tapeworm song.

mudvayne420 04-24-2005 12:23 AM

back on topic i'd choose either Mudvayne, or Dreamtheater. or both with them doin 1.5 sets with tool doin a 3 hour set.

I'd say NIN, but not easily :(

Edit: Out of those two

But I'd love to see Tool and Primus. No real reason, they just both put on a great show.

Man, I am so pissed that Tapeworm died. That was a dream come true for me. Reznor AND Maynard?!
Passive was a great song though. I think they called it something else though... Like Vacant or something.
I'd say NIN, but not easily :(
I would (duh) because these guys are pretty much my favorite band right now. And with the new CD coming out, I'm more obsessed than usual :p

I have (sorry, had) a live Vacant mp3, performed by APC on a tour, on my iTunes before it was recorded with eMotive as Passive. People went nuts when they heard that they were about to hear Tapeworm.
But as much as I would have loved to hear a Maynard, Trent, AND Josh Freese project, none of them felt too great about the music, which is always a downer.

Huber 04-24-2005 12:28 AM

Josh Freese is cool, I didn't know he was part of that.

Yeah, his work with A Perfect Circle has been a very major influence on my playing.

The JoZ 04-24-2005 12:31 AM

The Tapeworm song was called "Vacant", not "Passive"...

I've always known it as "Vacant"...

During the Tapeworm sessions, it was called Vacant. But when APC officially recorded it for eMotive, a few lyrics in the chorus were switched around, and it became Passive. The intro was much cooler in the Vacant form, IMO.

BlindWriting 04-24-2005 12:33 AM

They actually have more material recorded, probably just in demo form, but they just ended up shelving it.

Otherside 04-24-2005 12:33 AM

I can't remember who, but there was a member here who had a very large collection of tapeworm...

Huber 04-24-2005 12:36 AM

I'd most definetly want to meet this member...

mudvayne420 04-24-2005 12:37 AM

i'l love to hear more **** from tapeworm. also, i think the best thing in the world now would be if they actually decided to realese and album.

How do you know this?

Otherside 04-24-2005 12:38 AM

Hmm.. Maybe it was SonorKen? I can't remember, but it was someone who doesn't come in here anymore.

Huber 04-24-2005 12:38 AM

Yeah, that would be an amazing record (most likely). Not to mention an amazing show.

mudvayne420 04-24-2005 12:41 AM

maybe if NIN and APC toured together they'd do a tapeworm song or vacant(original). I'd pay loads to see it.

Huber 04-24-2005 12:43 AM

Aren't the chances of Maynard continuing with APC slim?

Huber 04-24-2005 12:45 AM

Here I think.

mudvayne420 04-24-2005 12:47 AM

I think after Tools new album comes out and when there done toruing, I think they could go for at least one more album. But, i think i'm wishing too much now so i won't say anything about that

The JoZ 04-24-2005 12:47 AM

I saw an interview somewhere that said that Maynard and Billy were having too many conflicts, and that after Maynard went back to Tool after APC finished touring, APC might not continue...

I don't know the validity of it, however.

Sonic_Immersion 04-24-2005 01:38 AM

A Perfect Circle Seemed to turn Maynard into a bit of a whore.
just an observation from Emotion the DVD, im not sure.
Im most likely wrong.

I cant wait for the new album, and if maynard focuses 100% on tool it will be amazing.
Lateralus still feeds my musical hunger though.

Huber 04-24-2005 03:13 AM

My favorite album of all time is Lateralus. It will always feed my musical hunger.

clearvision 04-24-2005 04:57 AM

The user was dancing man, formerly known as Fast fingers, i have him on slsk. I can view his tapeworm stuff. But i believe none is legit so i havent downloaded any...

Nin and tool would be great.

The billy/maynard thing makes sense, why is maynard gonna wanna put his time into the project, if billy want to sing too  I couldn't understand that with the new album, why even have maynard in your band if you want to sing...

There were many more people involved in tapeworm, i think manson was, and Skold may have been sniffing round. It was like a band for great industrial musicians

BunnYzWillEAtYoU 04-24-2005 08:41 AM
Aren't the chances of Maynard continuing with APC slim?
I remember reading that Billy Howerdel said APC would get back together in 2007. Its just that absolutely everyone from that band has something else going on right now.

clearvision 04-24-2005 08:54 AM

Yeah, APC is meant to be a part of many musicians lives that complete the circle that is their musical life, or something. But yeah, if i was maynard and billy wanted to sing on the new album i wouldn't bother with it :p I would much rather have a new tool album than an APC album with billy singing most songs...

the2stranger 04-24-2005 08:56 AM

things are so quiet around Tool, any news on the new album?

clearvision 04-24-2005 08:58 AM

No sir, we have a new logo on toolband

http://www.toolband.com

And there is a rumour that an august 15/16th release is planned with an album name, check the last few pages, it is there somewhere...

That is all :)
