My concert story for those interested:
So I show up to a local Zia which doesn't sell tickets, but I figured I'd check anyway, I had a few hours to kill, so what the hell.. right? When I pull in, I notice a huge line outside. I figured "ah cool, I guess they are selling tickets!" so I get in the back of the line. I then realized that I didn't know if the line was even for tickets or not, so I asked the guy in front of me. He's like "Dude, Bodom is here. We're all waiting to meet Bodom." After my giant erection went away, I went into my car and grabbed Are You Dead Yet?. 2 hours later, I'm standing a few feet away from their table. Man, I didn't think I'd get nervous but I did. I walked up to the drummer (excuse me for not knowing names) and was like "H-H-Hey man, you rock." and he's like "Thanks man, I appreciate that". He could tell I was nervous. To the bass player: "Hey man, welcome to Arizona." "Thank you! How are you?" "I'm good, how are you?" "I'm good man, a little hungover but good!". Alexi: Alexi wasn't in the greatest mood and I don't think he smiled much the entire time, but oh well. I said Whats up, he kind of nodded his head and said hey, that was it. The keyboard/guitarist were pretty cool as well, big smiles on the guitarist. He looked really pleased that we came to meet them. Anyway, off to the show. Amon Amarth was pretty sick. I was never really into those type of real deep and powerful vocals, but they put on an excellent show. I really enjoyed them. "Death in Fire" was so awesome. We waited for Trivium. Beforehand, I had the attitude of "Ehh, Trivium kind of blows but oh well." Jesus Christ was I wrong. I really, really, really, really liked Trivium. Matt was talking to the crowd a LOT which is something I really liked. When "The End of Everything" came on, I knew they were going to be good. I saw Matt on the side of the stage stretching and strapping on his guitar and stuff, it was pretty cool. They came out and tore into Rain. In between songs, he was talking to this kid who was wearing a mask and flipping them off or whatever about why he was too metal for them and how ugly he was. It was hilarious. At one point, Matt tells the entire crowd to quiet down. He tells the kid he has 10 seconds to explain why he's too metal for Trivium. When his time ran out, Matt says "Sorry, the correct answer would have been 'What is Manowar'" HAHA! He also encouraged huge moshpits and whirlwind circles. He said that our show (Phoenix, AZ) had the best whirlwinds and we were actually the best crowd on the tour yet. He probably said that to everyone, but oh well. To anyone else that saw them, did he say that to you too? Just curious. He also said that they were going to try something new and that they had never played this before and then tore into "A Gunshot to the Head of Trepidation" which was wierd. I thought they played that everywhere, but I guess not. All solos were very clean. They were very, very good live. Deff. a live band! As Bodom hooked in and stuff, their intro song was some 80's retro thing, I don't remember which song though. During their set, Alexi would feed everyone beer while they were soloing or whatever. He's pretty violent on stage, which was cool to watch. He was extremely clean and smiled a lot more than he did at Zia. He looked like he was having fun. At one point, someone threw a big stuffed frog on stage and he goes "It looks like our friend here needs a drink, what do you think?" Needless to say, the crowd went crazy so he gave the frog some beer. His solo/keyboard solo was awesome. Drum solo was good, but nothing compared to Arch Enemy's. Overall, they put on a great show. But I dunno man, Trivium was exceptionally awesome. That's all. It was an awesome night. Buy your tickets. You won't be dissapointed. |
Awesome im Jelous :-P im glad u had a good time tho. YOU GOT TO MEET BODOM!!!
|
It was a great show, but Trivium's live act did nothing for me. Matt Heafy's determination for the crowd to beat each other only caused me to lose further respect for them.
Other then that, the other two bands were amazing. |
the only thing i like about trivium is Corey hes a pretty good guitarist and the fact that hes from maine (like me), althought we just whooped his home teams *** at football championship 2 weeks ago.
|
I'm obsessed with the drummer mainly, but I really love the whole band.
|
The only thing that makes me jealous is meeting Alexi, as I'm going to see them soon anyway. To have just a nod and no smile would be disappointing though.

yeah hes good to but i've heard Matt's a major prick. |
It was an awesome night. Buy your tickets. You won't be dissapointed.
I will.. if they ever come here. You're lucky that you met them.

Okay, I'm considering seeing these guys live. Which songs do they usually play live?
|
Okay, I'm considering seeing these guys live. Which songs do they usually play live?
You mean what's their setlist like for this tour? I posted it a while back, I'll see if I can find it. |
Where can I buy the new Guitar Pro 5?
|
can you remember how i said, i will get the possibility to get backstage, cause i know a guy who is a "friend" of CoB?
well i just met him :D he plays since ten years guitar and it was amazing to see how a good player plays like... it was great :D he even made one of Cobs first homepages. He was backstage several times and played on alexi laihos famous jackson "wildchild" guitar :D he travelled even to finnland and they planned to go to lake bodom, but they never did. (and so on...) well the only thing is that he doesn't have active contact with the band anymore.. he hasn't seen them for a long time - he plans to phone them ... but he said that he won't go backstage this time... well i hoped so much he would :( but well, the hope dies at least .... its still time left until the concert will take place |

That is a nice setlist, I should be hopefully seeing them in January.
|
3 Days away from the Ybor City, FL show. It's going to be freaking awsome.
|

That's almost the same list from my show.
They combined Lake Bodom and Bodom Beach Terror at mine. I'm pretty sure. I could be wrong on this one, But I thought the last song was deadnight warrior. It might have been downfall, though. |
They do all sound alike, don't they. :p
Not a lot of something wild. :(
I know it was Lake Bodom because Alexi said it was. and of course I knew Bodom Beach Terror when I heard it. I'm listening to CoB as I type and it was "Downfall" for the final song. I listened to Bodom after Midnight and Lake Bodom and I'm still not sure. I think it was Lake Bodom though. |
It was Bodom After Midnight when I saw them.
|
i think the one i went to they didnt play punch me i bleed...i think shadowsfallen went to the same concert as me....what song did they play instead of punch me i bleed???
|
I'm pretty sure they played that song.
|
I'm pretty sure they played that song.
 wow i must have been in awe or something i dont even remember them playing it...wow |
That's no surprise. Their set was so long I only remember certain songs. I have to look at the setlist to remember what was played.
|
Does anyone know if they have a tour shirt or merchandise?
|
Does anyone know if they have a tour shirt or merchandise?
yep...got an are you dead yet t shirt at the concert i went to |
They had two different shirt designs and a hoody when I saw them.
The set when I saw them was: Hate Me Choke Hold Silent Night, Bodom Night Bodom After Midnight Six Pounder Angels Don't Kill Are You Dead Yet? Needled 24-7 Deadnight Warrior Follow The Reaper Bodom Beach Terror In Your Face Everytime I Die Hate Crew Deathroll Downfall I was disappointed at the lack of Lake Bodom, Children Of Decadence and Bed Of Razors, otherwise it was great. Apparently the show the follwing night got Lake Bodom instead of Deadnight Warrior :( |
They are hardly less aggressive. His voice sucks now, but his scream still has plenty of force. I prefer his old scream anyway.
i agree. the hatebreeder vocals were pure aggression. it was almost growling. now its americanized at best. damn hatebreeder was good... |
Is guitar pro 5 out yet?
|
Someday you'll all look back on your Bodem CD's and laugh.
Sub-sophmoric pompous crap. |
