Yes, I'm a fan.
The Tattermedailion Express is such a great album.
I have the new album on my PC, but haven't found a good, relaxing time to listen to it.
WIll d so soon though.

The release also features a limited edition pack, I might buy this.
Peter is a Mar De Grises Fan for sure...
Correct! :)
Me too, one of the most solid chilean bands.
Agreed, one of the beer doom/death bands nowadays anyway.

rasputin 04-13-2008 09:08 AM

I have the Tatterdemalion Express, and it's definitely good but I'm finding it a little hard to get into.
Me too, one of the most solid chilean bands.
I don't know about you, but I personally don't know any other Chilean bands :D

hahaha, that shows what my mind was actually thinking when typing that out.

Shattered_Future 04-13-2008 09:20 AM

Draining The Waterheart is one of the better releases of '08 so far.

the2stranger 04-13-2008 09:24 AM

I'm listening to Mournful Congregation - The Monad Of Creation now.
Such a great funeral doom album.
I can't find anything bad about it.

repcak 04-13-2008 09:25 AM

Eliminator 04-13-2008 09:35 AM

rasputin 04-13-2008 09:37 AM
yeah adelaide
Right, they're added to the list then. I had heard of these guys before but wern't sure if they were any good.

Very good.
The album I mentioned is a good way to start!

Slow, sad music with a lot of accoustic guitars.

I'll definitely be checking them out. Not surprised we have funeral doom from Adelaide, that place is a hole. No wonder they're depressed.

RetiredAt21 04-13-2008 09:49 AM

Mournful Congregation rules.

rasputin 04-13-2008 09:57 AM

I look forward to listening to it. Anymore funeral doom you recommend? I've got quite a few albums, but never stop looking for more.

pate 04-13-2008 10:15 AM

What is Unearthly Trance like?

the2stranger 04-13-2008 10:35 AM

Esoteric - Subconciouss Dissolution Into The Continuum and Metamorphogenesis
Ahab - The Call Of The Wretches Sea
Skepticism - All 3 their full lengths.
Longing for Dawn - A Treacherous Ascension
Shape Of Despair - Angels Of Distress
Evoken - A Caress Of The Void
Worship - Last CD Before Doomsday.

This should get you started.
:p

Lee:
They're quite cool.
Dirty sounding with even some post-rockish sounds going on from time to time.
The vocals aren't that special.
But good (extreme) doom/sludge.

EDIT:
Damn, I can't go to the Esoteric show on thursday. :(
Which means I'll HAVE to go to this instead:

Forsaken
Pagan Altar
Officium Triste
Esoteric
Mirror Of Deception
Serpentcult
Mael Mórdha
Indesinence
Imindain
Malasangre
The River
Helevorn
Autumnal
Akelei
Eria d'Or

And esoteric show would be awesome, although I don't know if I can even imagine them live.

the2stranger 04-13-2008 11:07 AM

Haha.
I've heard they give one hell of a live show.
Psychedelic, bad trip-ish stuff.
Sounds good if you ask me. :p

rattlehead42147 04-13-2008 11:08 AM

wow
that's what i was gettin at though, I wouldn't even know what to expect with those guys, i'll bet the vocals would be incredible.

Shattered_Future 04-13-2008 11:21 AM

There was one doom show coming up in Paris recently that I'm really bummed I can't go to see. I think it was 5 bands...don't remember exactly who was in it, but I remember Mar De Grises, Saturnus, Axatarie, and one other that I really wanted to see.

the2stranger 04-13-2008 11:24 AM

I think Funeral also played at that show.

Shattered_Future 04-13-2008 11:27 AM

There ya go. Another one that I can't see.

pate 04-13-2008 01:56 PM

I want to see Saturnus live again.

the2stranger 04-13-2008 01:57 PM

I might.
Not too sure though, cause theyre playing two shows in the Netherlands, but in stupid locations.

np: Dolorian - The Flow Of Seething Visions
(beautiful)

the2stranger 04-14-2008 03:59 AM

Alright, lete know what you think.
I can give you some more and less known recommendations too if you like.

rasputin 04-14-2008 04:42 AM
I can give you some more and less known recommendations too if you like.
That would be excellent. I know most of the known ones anyway. On a side note, got a hold of Mournful Congregation, and it's bloody good.

QFT.

I actually had my MC shirt and hoodie arrive today. Starting to seem like they're willing to do a show in my city later this year as well. I am hopeful.

Rasputin - if you are interested in Blackened Funeral Doom, and are keen on investigating Australian metal, try and obtain Elysian Blaze - Levitating The Carnal. Awesomely eerie in places.

I don't think they've been to Perth, but here's hoping. The metal scene here is pretty doom unfriendly, I only know of one semi-doom band who are hardly doom, and hardly good (I can't even remember their name).

the2stranger 04-14-2008 04:49 AM

I'm pleasantly surprised by the doom scene in my country.
We have two doom metal oriented festivals.
I'm going to one of them next weekend. :D

Quoted as I was slow to edit. May have been missed. Otherwise ignore.

Doom in Australia is pretty much a dry well though.
