|
does anyone here listen to jethro tull?? or how about more prog stuff like Emerson Lake and Palmer? Tull is one of my favourite bands, im just getting into ELP and i find their music really interesting.
|
I listen to Jethro Tull
|
"guitarted" and "ihateposerz" need to go commit suicide now, before ruining this thread even more. You talk like you just came from a foreign country and don't know an ounce of English. Especially if you're not going to post something considerate to the thread. As for classic rock, it's my favorite genre of music and I'm pretty sure it will be until I die. My favorite musician would be Jimmy Page, and most unique band either Pink Floyd or Jethro Tull. Their is my 2 cents, enjoy.
*EDIT* For the guy with the Dylan avatar, for blues go for Albert Lee, John Hiatt, and Chet Atkins. |
Yea I was recommend ELP by my uncle after I told him how much I liked Any Colour You Like. Haven't gotten around to chekcin them out yet though. Any starting suggestions?
And for Tull. They're awesome. Love the flute man. |
How about insane pychedllic......Syd Barrett
|
Thanks Jon.
|
hahaha my uncle got me into ELP too. their music is more classically based than like blues or other stuff. lots of keys and synthesizers. they were really the first band to start using the synthesiser in their songs as a main instrument, not just for cool effects. i only have one album of theirs, but if you download "the endless enigma" you might like it. its kind of an epic, it has two parts to it so its like ten minutes long. crazy piano parts. if you dont like piano/keyboards i dont suggest them.

Ya, I did a report on him because he came from Mississippi. |
I love the keyboards, and I love the 15 minute instrumentals. I think I'll like this album :thumb:

You all like Bo Diddley?
|
Mud is pretty good, I also have read some on him.. Tull is good because of the originality, I can't get enough originality in a band, something different is always good, instead of lead, guitar, bass and drums. Ray Manzarek would be my favorite (besides Jethro) for oddball instruments.

I liked Jimmy Page before i knew he was so popular. Just because a whole bunch of people say they like him wont make me change my mind. |
I just like him for infleuncing music history and rock n' roll, not to mention some of the easiest licks on the guitar that stay in your head for days, and you concentrate to get out. I also liked him on the Yardbirds, suprised they weren't as big as Zeppelin, since Page and EC together is pure bliss.

He used to me my favorite. But pretty much this thread has changed me for the better and now page is one of my favorites but certainly not my favorite. Mark Knopfler or Jeff Healey are my favorite musicians now :) |
jimmy page is my favourite musician and im not afraid to admit it. some people think led zeppelin is just a "fad" because brand name stores are selling their shirts now. i am proud to say i have never purchased a shirt from one of these stores. i actually respect jimmy page for his skills as a musician, not just because hes "cool"
|
Jon im sorry I didn't use good grammar before....can you level with me?
