so critique my new solo song: http://myspace.com/thealonearenotalone ive been working on my clean vocals, lots of geoff rickley and cody bonette influence |
dude wtf was that?
|
my experimental-elctronic music project
the newest song has me singingz |
that's not a bad lineup tbh. and mappy hates parkway drive but i adore them
Especially considering I live in Australia so we rarely get bands like that rolling through, it's a pretty rare tour. The Acacia Strain are nice, I don't mind Suicide Silence, and ADTR are alright. I love Parkway too - I missed out on seeing them earlier in the year, but this line up makes up for it ten fold. |
SS puts on a pretty energetic live show, you'll be surprised. I've seen them 3 times already.
|
I guess you Aussies gotta take what you can get. I'm glad I don't live down there. It's nice up here in Baltimore/DC, we have like 2 good tours come around every month.
|
i live in southern california so i basically can see most tours. im only about an hour from both san diego and l.a., plus anaheim gets a lot of shows and thats only half an hour for me
|
i live on the east coast so we get some sweet grind tours
|
yeah grind stopped coming out here because The Showcase theater closed and thats really the only place where a lot of grind bands would come play.
speaking of deathcore, Suicide Silence are from my county. i dont care for them but they are huge here |
my band's guitarist got really into suicide silence, and somehow that led to him writing **** that sounds like between
|
everyone out here is trying to sound like SS, thats why the deathcore scene here is ****.
|
Suicide Silence is decent. I'm seeing them on that Beneath The Massacre/Architects tour I think.

ross says it's like suicide silence, but to me it sounds like paraphilia meets the damascus intervention meets between the buried and me |

Architects will kill that gig. |
Yeah I'm prettymuch going for them, but I'll enjoy watching BtM for sure.
Question: If Mike is back to doing vocals for Knights Of The Abyss, then why did the singer from A Breath Before Surfacing record the vocals on Shades? |
Architects will kill that gig.
they're opening, it would be better if they had a longer set tour isnt coming to oregon pissed about that |

Yeah, I live in one of the worst places for metal shows especially. Plus, for the bigger bands (which are the ones that are more likely to come here in the first place), we get ripped off so badly. When Iron Maiden came here in Feburary, the cheapest ticket was $100AU - worth it of course, but add in a $50 shirt, a $10 poster, and however much overpriced food, and it's pretty expensive for one night. |
Architects are finally coming to the US?! boo yah!
|
yeah their signed to century so they have the backing for an US tour now
|
they're*
Question: If Mike is back to doing vocals for Knights Of The Abyss, then why did the singer from A Breath Before Surfacing record the vocals on Shades?
I heard that Mike blew out his voice again, before recording Shades, hence why he is absent again. At this point, I wish they would just wait to record the vocals until he can recover, as out every vocalist KotA has had, he is the best. |
Wait, seriously that wasn't Mike on Shades?
He sounds exactly like Mike did towards the end of their set when I saw them in Philly, but yeah, I was expecting much better vocals for the album but it makes sense. Also, why didn't they have D-Had do vocals on Shades then? He's so much better imo. |
Wait, seriously that wasn't Mike on Shades?
I told you it wasn't when it came out, it's the guy from the better-but-still-generic A Breath Before Surfacing |
the not as good*
|
never thought much of a breath before surfacing
|
Pretty meh, with a decent song here and there.
|
Actually A Breath Before Surfacing is one of my favorite deathcore bands. They aren't super original, but they aren't annoyingly generic either.
|
guess i just never really listened that close
idk genre is getting stagnant lately for me |
Yeah I'm getting a bit pickier about what I listen to now.
|
the stuff i like i still listen to but i have no interest in listening to anyone 'new' to the genre
