The solo in In My Life is amazing.

I've been liking Please Please Me for a bit now. Revolver never gets old.
The sped up piano played by George Martin?

Yeah, it's pretty cool.

Any of you see that 'Chaos and Creation at Abbey Road' awhile back with Paul McCartney?

El_Goodo 04-01-2006 11:44 AM
obscure Beatles songs? You mean from their earlier days?

I've always liked Tell Me What You See....though I don't know if thats obscure or not.
I've never heard that one D/L it as I post. :thumb:

EDIT: It's pretty good, I like it :)

Yeah, me too. But interesting none the less to see.

MidnightRider 04-01-2006 04:37 PM

I watched that, it was pretty cool. I liked the live footage.

StrawberryFieldsForever 04-01-2006 07:17 PM

I've never seen any Beatles live footage...it makes me ashamed. The closest I've seen is like A Hard Day's Night.

superjoe 04-01-2006 07:24 PM

purgatory 04-01-2006 07:50 PM

I love The Beatles! My favorite song would have to be While My Guitar Gently Weeps!

Seafroggys 04-01-2006 08:18 PM

i have Shea Stadium 1965 and Budokan? Stadium 1966 on DVD. I don't know how to rip video though.

Yeah I've been trying to learn it on guitar, its not that hard but I still can't seem to get it to sound right, or at least the way I want it to. I would love to find a keybord player to jam on that song with. Mabye I would be able to think up way to play the solo if an actual keyboard led me into it.

I'm also trying to learn Strawberry Feilds Forever and I Am The Walrus. I've only practiced the chords and singing for both, but I want to try to get a solo or two down for both of them. I would love to be able to play a really trippy cover of I Am The Walrus. I've been fooling around with playing the chords with the tremolo effect on my amp. It sounds interesting, but not so much I'm sure I'm going to keep it.

El_Goodo 04-02-2006 10:40 PM

Oasis does a mean cover of I Am The Walrus!

blue3 04-02-2006 10:43 PM

I've never heard it. Name change?

Leper 04-03-2006 01:19 AM

I'd really love to see the Shea Stadium performance. I actually didn't know it was released on DVD. I'm gonna have to keep a watchfull eye out for it now.

Seafroggys 04-03-2006 01:36 AM

my uncle made me a DVD with the Shea Stadium concert on it....problem is I don't know how to rip video.

MBS 04-03-2006 05:48 PM
I saw some from their early American appearances a while back, but nothing since then, or from their heyday. Then again there isn't that much live footage going around, I think. :-/
I'm trying to get the Let It Be DVD to no avail. :upset:

Seafroggys 04-03-2006 06:33 PM

i own Let it Be on a video copies from a video copies from a video that I think was copies from a video....not sure

Anyways, its at least a 3rd generation recording....the original VHS release was from like 1981....so you can already know the quality of the tape I got.

I heard Frank Zappa did a cover of the song too. I would love to hear it because, well, that song sound right up Zappa's ally.

That's happened to me too. I've had Abbey Road, Magical Mystery Tour and 1 for a long time, then I got Rubber Soul and Revolver recently after my friend got me onto a huge Beatles kick. Revolver never gets old, no matter how many times it gets played.

I've only seen the clips off of the Anthology.

pigonthewing82 04-03-2006 07:57 PM

I wish that they had some live stuff from their latter days besides the roof top concert. I would give anything to hear a long, live, extended jam by them on one of their songs. (I Want You) Shes So Heavy would be amazing.

/wets self

That would be awesome...

I saw a Hard Day's Night a while ago with a few of my friends, and I found every joke in there to be, I dunno, silly? It was pretty cool tho.

Seafroggys 04-03-2006 09:18 PM

did you know that the longest Beatles recording is Helter Skelter at 27 minutes long? They cut it down to 4 for the album though :P

i'd give a lot to hear that recording

Yeah I heard about that. I forget where. I'd kill to hear that.

Seafroggys 04-03-2006 11:04 PM

if there was, I would have heard it by now

notice the fade in and out before the end of the song? Yeah, there's like 22 minutes in that gap.

Leper 04-03-2006 11:23 PM

I'm sure Paul has it hidden away somewhere in his closet.

Is it just a long, instrumental jam? Or are there more verses and such?

deathbyjello 04-04-2006 12:59 PM

Ever notice the laugh in Maxwell's Silver Hammer?

Seafroggys 04-04-2006 01:15 PM

there's a lot of laughs in all their music

and I think its just an instrumental jam....but I could care less!
