I picked up Jeff Buckley's Grace, and Sonic Youth's Dirty yesterday. Safe to say I've been digging them.

It's pop rock and it's awesome. I think it's my favourite album this year.
|
I'll have to keep an eye out for that one. I finally checked out the Magic Numbers, after seeing Iai whoring them. Very cool album.
|
new band called STAND
Irish rock, i never heard of them until i saw their show at my school. they're pretty awesome. check out www.standland.com Next show is in dublin, but they'll be in Buffalo (NY) in August. =) |
I've been hearing quite a bit of quiet hype developing around Devin Davis. I'm definitely interested.
Edit: Especially since me and Tomahawk agree on practically everything. Except The Magic Numbers. :p |
I might give them another chance. I'm pretty generous like that.
|
Man, I just realised, I must have played Gigantic about 20 times today. I'm THAT happy.
Oh, and I bought I Am A Bird Now yesterday. Muchly looking forward to digging that after dinner. |
I Would Set Myself On Fire For You
Hot Cross Autechre |

lately ive been listening to the clash and big audio dynamite....they have some great lyrics, but if your looking for a cool drum beat, check out kryptonite by three doors down...its not that hard, but sounds awesome when you play it :thumb:

It's, uh.....interesting. Reminds me of Rufus Wainwright at first, except with a far more strange voice. I didn;t really settle into the flow of the album until the 5th or 6th track. I liked it though. I'll give it a couple more listens before judging properly. |

Did you buy that album (Devin Davis) from somewhere in Australia or did you order it from the US or something? I haven't been able to find it anywhere. |
Since my above post I've listened to:
Talking Heads - Remain in Light David Bowie - Low The Clash - London Calling |
I've been listening to...
Shining - In The Kingdom Of Kitsch You Will Be A Monster Felt - Forever Breathes The Lonely Word |
Trying to dig "Illinois".

I've been looking for it too, can't find it. I just have a downloaded copy for the moment. |
Can't stop listening to the Afghan Whigs.

I still haven't heard that album :upset: Today: Oasis - Only Hits Andrew Morgan - Misadventures In Radiology The Cranberries - Everyone Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We? |
I've been looking for it too, can't find it. I just have a downloaded copy for the moment.
Dang, I thought you were gonna point me in the right direction. Oh well.
In other news, I rediscovered why Radiohead is my favourite band and Kid A is my favourite album. Also dug: The Cure - Disintegration Blackalicious - Blazing Arrow |
Hot Water Music
The Kills Public Enemy Blossom Toes |
The Violent Femmes - The Violent Femmes (4/5)
Interesting record. The lyrics are really immature and selfish, but it's incredible how many of them I really relate to. Plus, it really reminds me of The Doors. But better. Kaiser Cheifs - Employment (3/5) Great singles, decidedly average album. R Kelly - Trapped In The Closet (5/5) Easily one of the most ludicrous, hilarious things ever conceived. I nearly wet myself when one of the parts finished with '....and it was a man!' Utter, utter genius. But damnit, we need a Part 6 where Kelly shoots the policeman!!! I also dug my Tori Amos collection on random after hearing her new single on the TV (Sweet The Sting). It sounds nothing like the other stuff I have by Tori, but damn, it's good. (I think I'm fast becoming a fanboy here.) |
A guy I know who has moved on to a college about 2 hours away sent me some data CDs of music, and they arrived today. About forty new albums to wade through...

I can't ever remember what I wanted now. |

Sounds like fun, or boredom, depending. |
The tagging and album art storing has been hell so far. But I'm anal about that sort of thing.
