Most black people don't know anything about black history in general. It has been lost in the years since they came here from Africa, or, of you mean African American history, well, I think every person knows about that because I'm pretty sure AMerican history is required to graduate.

Heh, any American history class not covering the civil rights movement class shouldn't be considered an American history class.

Not all would cover stuff like the Harlem Renaissance granted but civil rights would definitely which is the other biggie.

African American history, I just feel that African American history is pulling it's self in the ground with everyone trying conforming to this ghetto estique culture. I'm black and not poor, I see no reason I have to wear pants that are to baggy and pay 120 dollers for shoes.

Nor do most even care. In reality, most kids don't care about their history period. As such, not much of their modern culture is related to their historical one.

That's not the point here. As a minority, I can say that I constantly feel a sense of dispalcement, that this isn't where I'm supposed to be, and that I need to act a certainw ay to be acceptable, but at the same time, there are things about my ethnic identity that I don't know enough about, and it leaves me feeling like I have an identity crisis. Entire races have been reduceed to lawn mowers, thugs, and geeks.

But at one time we were kings, warriors, and civilized beyond the point of some European countries, but still as white people are the majority, when people hear "African" they probably think of some bushtreading face painted blowgun wielding jungle savage, not the empires that spanend the Savannah and Timbuktu, where Greeks came to learn from African philosophers. "Mexican" makes us think of a river hopping gandener, not the Incas or Mayas who were tricked by Europeans and became nearly extinct. "Asians" makes you think of a nerdy kid who wears glasses and probably speaks poor English, not the continent that yielded civilizations too complex for Europeans to understand, which led to the use of "Chinese' as a slang adjective for confusing.

Not enough of anybody recognizes that.

I was reading in the paper how any sucessful African American highschool student doesn't go to African American colleges becasue they feel like they arn't black. When has been stupid been a black trait?

Well, the Europeans arn't the nicest people.

there's no such thing as the nicest people. All races have committed equally horrible attrocities. No one is more moral than the other.

It wasn't meant to be "europeans are dumb" it was an emphasis on the advancement of Asian culture. Also, it's true. It doesn't amtter what COUNTRY your descendants were fron, you're White, and we'll talkmin terms of White, Asian, Black, Hispanic, Native American and so on. White people have a numbers advantage over any minority in America. It's okay to say cracker and ****, because at the end of the day, White people are still in control of most of the government and most financial isntitutions. However, this isn't White people's fault, this is due to the lack of unity in the minority demographic to strive for equality toghether.
